Stealing images to advertise for mini sessions is not how you build your portfolio. You build your portfolio by capturing the images YOURSELF then using those photos to advertise more sessions with.

It is that easy.

Before any of you come at me saying she is new and doesn’t know any better she has been educated but continues to use images that aren’t hers because “I’m not using my resources to create a custom set until I know there is interest.”

I’m sure a judge would love that argument at the CCB.

Also, more often than not her disclaimer is hidden beneath a see more link.

Furthermore she has had multiple photographers allegedly try to educate her regarding image use and copyright going back to at least July 2025.

Update 12/18/2025: Samantha who owns The 9th House Photography and her friend (?) Sara Keasley (Kea) have been leaving negative reviews for my business, and Sara has been leaving negative reviews for many photographers who commented or liked comments on the Photo Stealers Facebook Page. I never commented or reviews The 9th House Photography nor did any of the others who got negative reviews.

What’s curious is that The 9th House Photography blocked my business page after reviewing so I can’t see it unless I am not logged in as the page.

Sara also took it upon herself to comment beneath many of my reviews.

Facebook used to allow business pages to remove comments like this but they don’t seem to anymore, ugh.

I also added a photo of The 9th House Photography’s Facebook Header image which also features an image that Samantha did not capture herself. There is no disclaimer in the image or description stating the image isn’t hers.

Update 12/20/2025: Samantha called the police who in turn called me to get my side of the story yesterday. From my understanding she thinks it’s a violation of her privacy to post her name. Which the police stated is public information. I did not post her address or phone number (which is publicly available on her website). Her name is easily found through her own social media. Often when a business has a similar name other businesses I use the owner’s name so that there is a distinction. Also they rebrand but keep infringing on copyrights (see SJC Photography) so this way it is tied together.

Update 1/13/2025: Samantha has rebranded to The Lace House Photos or The Lace House Photo Studio. I quietly updated her listing as many times people featured on this website continue to use images they do not have copyright claims to after the rebrand. Since Samantha posted the Valentine Set of images to a Michigan Facebook Group as an ad after I posted her here I think it was a valid concern.

In the past month I’ve had others reach out to me that have had instances with Samantha. In particular a local photographer who has worked with Samantha and did not have a good experience. I opted to not post about these issues because I was hoping this would blow over.

Over the weekend a client of Samantha’s commented to the post on Facebook stating that Samantha had no call/no showed to their engagement session. They supported this claim with a screenshot of their text conversation with Samantha.

I’m not sure if that is related but Monday morning I woke up to Samantha leaving a review on my photography business’ Google Page.

Samantha updated it again later in the day after I posted my reply to her.

Samantha AGAIN updated it after I changed my reply to reflect her newest allegations against me, included my previous reply alongside an Instagram conversation with an anonymous past thief I’ve listed who is cheering Samantha on.

To be clear: her last name was found using her OWN SOCIAL MEDIA.

Samantha/Samm uses her first name publicly, posts her location publicly, her phone number is publicly listed on her website.

I *only* used her first and last name along with the city to differentiate her from other businesses with a similar name.

Samantha’s last name was found via a link on her own social media (her PayPal account if I remember correctly).

In good faith I’ve removed her last name but considering the above and that she lives in a town of 12K people, I don’t believe my using her name put her in harms way. She even geotags the locations she’s been at.

Hopefully this is the last update but I fear it won’t be.

Lenaria Photography in Anderson, IN

Website: https://lenariaphotographyindiana.mypixieset.com/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lenariaphotography
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lenariaphotography/
Yelp: https://www.yelp.com/biz/lenaria-photography-fortville

Location: Based in Anderson, Indiana ish. She’s also had Fortville and Fishers as locations as well.

Other Areas She Advertises/Has Booked: All of Indiana, Illinois (she was in a Chicago based group), Missouri, Washington (Seattle), North Carolina and likely more areas I haven’t found yet.

After my post about Well Kept Design I got a few messages from people wanting me to look into Lena because she has a similar shady track record as a photographer.

The complaints are varied but all basically boil down to me not even letting my ex husband book this photographer. Stolen photos, last minute cancellations, no showing, overbooking, not paying photographers, not refunding clients, faking her Mom’s death, booking multiple photographers for her own wedding and cancelling last minute for various reasons, and just flat out not being professional.

Lena has been changing her name often on Facebook to avoid the comeuppance coming for her or to possibly evade getting booted from the hundreds of wedding related Facebook pages she’s in. She’s currently using Lena Ralston but has gone as Lena White and Lena Ervin.

This post took me almost 6 HOURS to write. So buckle up and figure out below where I finally lost my cool with all of these terrible stories.

To be honest I don’t know what the hell is happening with this company.

The website just seems off. Some plagiarism, some stolen images. I think there’s more stolen on the website but I couldn’t find sources for it all.

The one Instagram account (Ivan) seems like a bot account with bought followers?

The maternity Instagram is full of AI images along the stolen ones.

The wedding Instagram has a “Backdropville” icon.

Very weird but they are advertising with the stolen images so are trying to get clients.

When I start a post with so many AKAs known already you know it’s going to be a long one.

*nmp* is a new one to me for what I am assuming means “not my photos.” Even if it was widely known what nmp meant even spelling it out doesn’t matter – you can’t use photos to advertise your own work without permission from the copyright holder. Full stop.

There’s at least one post in a local group that was found with stolen wedding photos and no disclaimer about these not being her photos and I’m sure there’s more that I haven’t been sent (yet).

One thing I noticed when searching this photographer out is that she posts *everywhere* so check your local Facebook Groups to make sure she’s not in there. She’s based in North Carolina but I found posts in Pennsylvania, New York, Montana, Tulsa, Colorado, Tennessee, Salt Lake City, Pensacola, Chattanooga, Outer Banks, basically everywhere in the United States she’s in a local wedding group.

While the copyright infringement is the main story here, there is also a side story that Courtney allegedly has a history of not delivering photos/is slow to refund and is why she’s changed her business name in mid 2023 after conversations like this popped up in local groups. This story is at the bottom of the page with the update.

Update 1/29/2024:

It turns out the above was just the tip of the iceberg and there’s a lot of people out there who have had issues with Courtney.

In summary – she has allegedly canceled many times on clients at the last minute for boudoir sessions and weddings. She has allegedly sometimes sent in subpar photographers but sometimes she hasn’t sent in anyone at all. This girl allegedly gets covid a LOT. She allegedly rarely delivers albums. She allegedly owes a LOT of refunds.

She also posted this as an excuse before unpublishing her Facebook page.

Update 2/14/2025: Southern Silos Photography by Courtney Smith was not deterred by her post here and unfortunately has continued on.

Today I was notified that Boston’s 25 news has posted an article (and also aired the same) about a couple in Boston who hired Courtney for $1200 which was to include the travel from North Carolina. They mention Photo Stealers in the article! Anyway, the couple hired Courtney who called shortly before the wedding claiming that she ‘accidentally’ booked her flight for the wrong year and she ended up hiring another photographer for $700. Unfortunately she didn’t pay the photographer she sent so those images haven’t been sent to the client. What a mess.

After seeing the article and recognizing the name I looked Courtney / Southern Silos up on Facebook and there’s been a few posts since my original post about her from various clients.

Allegedly she’s rebranded to ‘Bloom Again Photography’ which still, at this time, does have an Instagram link. I’ve also seen “Always Yours Photography” may possibly be hers as well.

One of her brides made a TikTok about this in January when stuff started coming out, yet again, that Courtney Christine Smith of Southern Silos Photography was not fulfilling her contracts. This bride hired Courtney for their 2025 wedding. The night before their engagement session Courtney replied to a message confirming their location (in Philadelphia) stating she was having a “co shooter” do the engagement session because she had the flu and claimed she’d still be editing. The bride goes on to show screen captures of Courtney bailing on a wedding due to “somebody” dying. The comments have other clients who had bad interactions with Courtney as well.

It’s wild seeing how often my post about her was shared in conjunction with the story being spread on Facebook.

Another PSA post from a bride who had a similar story about Courtney canceling the morning of the wedding because her “family was in need of me for a very serious thing” but she assured the client she was in good hands and promised extra product to make up for it.

The bride reached out to the photographer that she worked with the day of after Courtney made it sound like Jill (the fill in photographer) didn’t send over all the photos correctly. In the end she was able to send over some photos that she was able to recover from the cloud from the wedding but Courtney never delivered herself.

On the above post another client appeared in the comments. Courtney no showed at their wedding along with the coordinator (unclear if they were hired through Courtney or not).

There are a LOT of clients who chimed in on that thread all with similar stories of Courtney either ghosting completely or sending in someone at the last minute and not delivering the files.

So yeah, I think I can confidently say that Courtney is still on her bullshit and is likely in the middle of a rebrand. She has seemingly branched out from North Carolina though and people all along the East Coast are reporting issues so keep an eye on local groups and report to the admin if you see her posting (and screencap it for me before you do!).
