I may have done a shot before drafting this up – if there are any typos I blame it on the tequila.

If you are a workshopper (and boy was there drama about her classes) you shouldn’t be using images that aren’t your original images on your photography social media pages.  Scratch that, you should NEVER use someone else’s images on your photography business pages full stop.  Especially with the hashtag #featuremyshot .

Yes, these images are stock for the most part but she is using them to represent her work, and thus, taking credit for them.  This is not okay, especially when she’s using these images not only to gain photography clients but photographers as clients as well.

Yes I know this photographer allegedly just had her equipment stolen (I’ve seen the Go Fund Me and multiple stories she’s posted about it) and I know this is bad timing for this post but that’s what started someone digging into her work because they saw the inconsistencies in her portfolio.

Don’t steal.

Blossom Exposures Photography in Marianna, Florida

I actually received this submission on Saturday but since I was on the way to a Harry Potter Festival I decided to live in Hogwarts instead of dealing with this BS and saved it for Monday.

Sigh.

STOP USING ANY IMAGE THAT IS NOT YOURS!  Not for mini session inspirations.  Not for outfit inspiration.  Not for location inspiration.  Don’t keep placeholder images on your website IF they came with them.  Don’t use stock images to represent your work (spoiler alert, if it’s on your photography website/facebook/social media of choice it will be assumed to be YOUR work by all clients who visit the page).

NEVER USE AN IMAGE YOU DID NOT TAKE FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS (unless it is OF you and with permission from the original photographer for your bio/about page).

Another day, another idiot photographer using stolen images to advertise for cheap mini sessions.

Update 11/30/2023: As I was writing my latest Substack newsletter an email came in tipping me off that Amanda is still up to her same shit. She’s changed her editing style, somehow amassed a decent following on Instagram and is now selling to photographers. You’d think from an innocent glance at her instagram that she’s living clean and learned from her mistakes…

Except now she’s using stolen photos to advertise to photographers for various retreats. On some she does say (beneath the cut or deceptively hidden of course) they are inspo but not all. She did not receive permission to use the images from the photographers that I’ve heard back from so far.

Note: this isn’t even the second time she’s done this. When I outed her in 2019 I got a hefty amount of messages that she’d done this numerous times before.

When clients start searching for reasons why their images aren’t matching up to their expectations (IF they even get them delivered) you know something is afoot. Something is definitely afoot here.

I’ve been told there’s more images that were up but she’s pulled them when being called out on them.

The reviews out there for her are NOT good.  Don’t fall for her standing behind Jesus and Grace.

Update 10/12/18: Both Lesa /Lisa/Elle and her sister Kayla have weighed in on the Facebook Post about this listing and said I’m crazy and the images were obviously just inspiration.  Then they said they took a class from Amy & Jordan who said she could use the images and didn’t need to credit.  There were a ton of other explanations and excuses.  In the end the stolen images remain and they have not removed them.

So I went to Instagram.

More “inspiration” to be found.

’tis the season… not for Christmas you fools but for mini sessions!  Which means that I’m dealing with submissions left and right of fauxtographers who are advertising their minis with images that aren’t their own.  Some state the images are “inspiration” and some do not but either way it’s still copyright infringement.  STOP IT.
