  • Justin Case

wow, you’re on a roll this week. lots of catching up to do.

    • Photo Stealers

I got 3 submissions in the past hour. Cocktail hour may start early.

      • Justin Case

beat you to it. Hope the hacking has gone away.

      • Just a Girl

        *cheers*

      • V323

Where does one ‘donate’ a case of vodka to PS?

        • Photo Stealers

          Ha ha ha.

  • peaceetc

Let’s just nip this one in the bud, shall we? I know, it won’t work, but let’s pretend it will.

To the person or people behind Magnolia & Main Photography, please do NOT do the following:

    1. Flag comments on this listing. We mods will just put them back, so don’t waste your time.

    2. Lie. We have heard every excuse in the book, and you will not come up with something we haven’t heard before. You are not a special snowflake. Nothing you can say will justify what you did, so don’t bother.

    3. Accuse us of slander (because nobody ever figures out it has to be verbal to be slander). We stick to the facts, and if something is publicly available, it’s fair game.

    Please DO the following:

    1. Remove any and all stolen images.

    2. Apologize DIRECTLY to those from whom you have stolen. You owe them that much.

    3. Hope they don’t sue you. Copyright infringement is illegal under the law, and you can be sued for thousands of dollars for EACH stolen image. Yes, seriously.

    4. DON’T STEAL. It’s not complicated — if you didn’t take a photo and don’t have permission to use it from the actual copyright holder, then don’t use it. It’s that simple. Yes, seriously. You claim to be a photographer, so why on earth would you want to use others’ images, anyway? How does that make sense?

    And remember:

    1. If you do it again, you will be caught. Don’t forget — Google knows. Any time someone searched for your business, this listing will come up.

    2. Think about the actual victims here (no, not you) — those whose images you stole. You screwed them over. And frankly, that’s a pretty damned crappy thing to do.

    • Justin Case

Really, truly, excellent advice. Stephanie and Ashley, you would be wise to read it closely and avoid a lot of unnecessary drama. Seriously, we have plenty of other, more obnoxious thieves to deal with.

      • Here we go again…

Ashley McLaughlin and Stephenie Ray Ngo.

  • Justin Case

Ladies, it looks like you just started. Fix this, quickly. If your website images are anything to judge by, you have no excuse at all to pad your portfolio.

    PS: Instagram also looks clean.

    • BullShite

WHY DO THEY DO THIS? I just DO NOT understand! Why? Why take someone else’s work when you can just do it yourself? Do it free, do it for people you know, raffle it off cheap as a charity donation…. but DO YOUR OWN WORK!!

  • Photo Stealers

She’s the photographer of the flowers which was taken for her website redesign.

  • yeahnotsomuch

Simply Bloom’s blog post states “Images below by Andrea Dozier” I doubt anyone and everyone form the workshop was allowed to use those specific images as if they took them.

    • Photo Stealers

They actually credit a few different photographers but specifically state the images above they took (they = Vania or Christine).

      • yeahnotsomuch

        Exactly, not stephanie or ashley

  • U Really That Dumb?
  • Here we go again…

Ashley ‘ s personal FB has those wedding albums too.

    • Here we go again…
      • peaceetc

She’s such a talented artist! It must be true, because someone wrote that on the album and she said thank you! Wow!

So, again, she’s clearly claiming those images as her own, because she clearly accepted the compliments based on those images. How lovely of her to do that. I’m sure the actual photographers would be just thrilled.

      • ALP

I always wonder about the people who put this stuff on personal pages. Isn’t that risky? Won’t your friends and family know you’ve never shot a wedding — or at least never shot one in Paris or in front of a castle or on a beach in Hawaii or whatever. One of the reasons I’ve been tipped off to stealers is because I don’t recognize the venue (not that I’ve shot at every church in the Northwest but I’ve been in all the ones big enough to seat huge numbers of people). If you live in Hole-in-the-Wall, Ga., wouldn’t someone you know, think, “huh, I’ve never seen a Gothic castle around here …”

        • Just a Girl

I wonder also. Everyone I know knows where I have been. But to be honest I have had friends tell me I should charge for some of my photos and I suck. I am not joking. They see what “appears” to be a good photo or series of photos and think they are the bomb and you can pull that off all of the time. I have donated photos to Causes when I’ve been asked but they have been specific photos that really are good and Im comfortable doing that with. I can shoot landscape and skyscapes but I’ll be damned if I can shoot a person. I end up with beauty on one spectrum and a simple snapshot on the other end that looks like it came from a throw away Polaroid.

          • Helena

            Your photos are pretty though!

          • Just a Girl

I loooooooooooooooooove yoooou! 🙂 Wanna buy some?? LOL Seriously-thanks! 🙂

          • Dr. Catfish

“There’s no such thing as a wasted Polaroid!” 😉

As a Polaroid photographer, I just had to say something. But I totally get your point. The great thing about when people steal my work, if there is a great thing, is that I have physical evidence they didnt take the picture.

          • Just a Girl
          • Marc W.

Check out the older Polaroid Auto Land cameras. Fuji still makes color peel apart film for it.

        • Helena

Ha, the gothic castle comment made me LOL.

    • Justin Case

wow. Kind of hard to claim ‘inspiration’ when you post this in the comments:
“This is an ever growing album as I go through weddings and get permission to advertise from the bride and groom so stay posted
but here’s a glimpse at some of my earlier wedding. These were really some of my first hope you enjoy!”

  • U Really That Dumb?

I wonder if they know she is a photo thief? She claims to work there.
Ladies, let me give you some advice. The Austin area is a very small community. Everyone knows everyone else! They are also VERY protective of their rights as artists. The chance that this story will be all over town within a day is very high! The chance of you ever working in the industry again is VERY low! Especially if you don’t do the right things immediately!

Is that a threat? NO, that’s Austin, TX!

    https://www.facebook.com/smilebooth

    • Marc W.

Austin is very art friendly and I’m sure is not welcoming of thieves.

      BTW, Friendswood is near Houston.

      • U Really That Dumb?

Yup, but her posts and tags are coming from Austin.

  • brooklynandme

Oh hey! I creep here often (okay, probably everyday) but don’t comment till now. I’m not sure if this was shared yet, but this seems to be Stephanie’s personal photography site? http://www.stephanierayephotography.com/index2.php

    • Justin Case

looks like it’s the right person. A quick glance looks like it’s all her, but she’s been blogging for awhile so I didn’t go through it all.

Again, WTF is wrong with people? The work that is there shows plenty of promise, but she’s just starting. So why rush it?

      • ALP

I thought the blog photos were very nice. The processing could use some refining but the photos are good. I don’t understand stealing. Second shoot, work with friends, do a dreaded styled-shoot. But don’t steal.

        • brooklynandme

Exactly! I thought Stephanie’s photos were really good, they all SEEM to be hers. It makes no sense. Maybe Ashley does the stealing and Stephanie hasn’t realized it yet.

          • peaceetc

If Ashley is the stealer and Stephanie is not a part of it, then Ashley has royally screwed Stephanie over. That’s a big “if,” of course. It remains to be seen. And, since they are a business together, Stephanie is still liable for her partner’s misdeeds.

      • Here we go again…

        Here they are…

  • U Really That Dumb?

One more time: DO NOT FLAG COMMENTS! You are an idiot if you do! It will do you no good!

    • peaceetc

There are much more rewarding hobbies out there than comment flagger, big brave anonymous person. Have you tried knitting? I hear it’s very relaxing.

    • Helena

I flagged one of yours yesterday by accident. Stupid fat thumbs.

      • You can’t fix stupid

        I’ve done that a few times 🙂

  • Alwp

Love how their stuff is gone now…

  • U Really That Dumb?

    Facebook is GONE!
Now they need to remove the rest!

    • U Really That Dumb?

      IG went private.

    • Here we go again…

I may be mistaken but it looks like Ashley and Stephanie are no longer friends on Facebook. Lol.

      • BullShite

Well if it was only one of them that was stealing, I hope the other runs as far as possible away from the business, and starts again, and doesn’t let something like this stop them from continuing on as a photographer.

      • U Really That Dumb?

Would you please repost links to their pages?

        • Here we go again…

Stephanie Raye Ngo appears to be missing from fb.

          • U Really That Dumb?
          • U Really That Dumb?

Also, according to her blog, she hasn’t been on FB since June 4th.
How much do we really know about Ashley? Catfishing?

          • Here we go again…

Stephanie was there a few hours ago. The picture of their announcement (shown below) was from her fb page.

          • peaceetc

I would be interested in hearing from her. If she really had nothing to do with the stealing, she has the right to defend herself. But if she was involved, I’m not interested.

        • BullShite

Looks like this page is down.

  • U Really That Dumb?

To those about to steal, those that have stolen, and those that say nothing ever gets done!
In a different jurisdiction or a different judge, she would have received all of it. She may still on appeal.

    http://sassy-designs.net/blog/?p=443

  • brooklynandme

All pages except instagram are back up. It looks all clean, except the stolen floral branding is still there.

    • Yea they look clean… I surprise there was no re-branding.

  • X

Just to set the record straight Stephanie Raye Ngo had nothing to do with this.

    • U Really That Dumb?

So Ashley of Magnolia Main Photography in Friendswood, TX, are you admitting you did all of this stealing and fraud yourself?

    • The truth comes out..

  • Still down
