As you can tell, it’s either feast or famine around here and yesterday I was swamped with submissions and am still working on them.  Parts of Morgan Dickson Photography’s online persona are being taken offline (and WIX, being as awesome as they always are took down her site completely).  However with screen caps and what little is left I’m still able to cobble together a post to keep awareness out.

  • Herb Syufy

    Son of a dick!

  • Marc W.

What are the links for the website(s).

Edit, oh, I see it in screenshots. Duh.

    • peaceetc

Good question. Google cache might be able to tell us more.

    • Photo Stealers

http://mjdphotography8.wix.com/mjdphotography is the link that I was given but it’s completely gone.

      • V323

I think after the posting in FB, people were actually calling the number, including the photographer that had her images stolen. Not surprised it’s gone, the persona answering the number (one listed in all of her adverts, btw) claimed she was in Atlanta & not a photog, wrong number. Very suspicious.

        • U Really That Dumb?

          Bull Shite!

          • V323

Agreed. Seems HIGHLY unlikey that suddenly, the same CA number listed in all of her websites etc would be for a different person in ATL, after all the bio stuff about her moving from LA to Denver. Not sure if it’s still listed anywhere now that she’s been outed, but I snickered heavily at the “cash or check ONLY” verbiage on everything. That, and the “due to high call volume, it may take a day or 2 to respond”. Talk about sketchy ego!

          • Lindsay11

Yeah that made me laugh! So is her facebook presence completely gone?

          • V323

I never saw an FB page.

          • Lindsay11

Oh! I assumed she was in one of the groups she mentioned. Or as Terry would say, ASSumed.

          • MPR1776
          • Lindsay11

            You are awesome!

          • doncalifornia

Could someone explain to me how this Morgan Dickson appears to have THREE seemingly unrelated female friends named Morgan Dickson living in three other states: https://www.facebook.com/morgan.dickson.1232/friends

          • MPR1776

She probably friended them because they shared the same name would be my guess.

          • MPR1776

Possibly friending people that have the same name?

          • High volume of people outing her maybe! 😉

          • BullShite

            What!?

          • Lindsay11

            HAHAHA!

        • I am one of the photographers whose photos she stole and I called her yesterday. She said that her name is Charlotte and she lives in Atlanta. I had the call on loudspeaker and my boyfriend was listening the conversation, he is really good at reading in between lines and he was sure that the person on the phone was lying.
Looking at all her social media and online links posted to comments here, seems like she could a pathological liar and probably needs help. I truly hope, she won’t do this again. And I hope she didn’t actually took photos for anyone (wonder if she even has a camera??)

  • Here we go again…

Wonder what is in this book. 🙂 http://www.blurb.com/b/2688833-the-domesticated-diva

  • V323

Awesome. This one was in a Sue Bryce FB group I read. Craziness!

    • U Really That Dumb?

Believe it or not, that is not uncommon in all of her groups!

Did you know she took photos of Amy Winehouse?

    • Photo Stealers

Thank you for these! I was told they were all removed!

      • Lindsay11

Yay! Do you need screenshots for any of it before I close those tabs?

        • U Really That Dumb?

          YES

      • Marc W.

        Ha!

  • Here we go again…
    • Lindsay11

Nice! That explains why I keep finding CA stuff for someone in Denver.

    • MPR1776

She forgot to put acting in that resume, she is really good at stealing pics but pretending they are hers.

      • V323

Some of them were so badly copied, you could still see the original watermark underneath! It’s like she was doing screen captures to build portfolio!

        • MPR1776

But her resume clearly says, Photoshop, lightroom, graphics….

    • Wow, she’s in media and doesn’t understand copyright laws.

      • Lindsay11

Or just didn’t think she’d be caught. Did she have any response to being called out? Maybe @V323:disqus knows. 🙂

        • V323

I wish I could remember the name of the photog that outed her on FB; it was a giant thread that was deleted by mods, I know she emailed & called the thief.

          • Lindsay11

Bummer! I hate when mods delete stuff like that!

          • V323

Found the name of the one who started the FB thread in IBWS: Berit Alits. Informed her of this post, hopefully she’ll pop by!

      • Here we go again…

        Minor in photojournalism. sigh.

        • Justin Case

again, someone who slept though the ‘Ethics 101’ lectures.

  • U Really That Dumb?
  • Here we go again…

Someone needs to buy her book of photography. Dying to see what’s in it. 🙂

  • MPR1776

What I want to know is why she’s not modeling, I mean she’s got a great face and eyes for it and body wise is also good. And she so loves pics of herself.

  • Here we go again…

    Instagram is @mookastar

    • peaceetc

Hey, look, it’s full of selfies. She’s obviously attractive, and I know selfies are a thing now, but I still don’t get it. It just seems selfish and vain to post pictures of oneself all the time. This has nothing to do with anything, it just annoys me.

      • Lindsay11

Back in the day, it used to be super embarrassing if someone figured out you were posting pictures you took of yourself because it meant you had taken the time to find your best possible position for your face so you didn’t look fat and because it meant you didn’t have any one to take them for you. My old roommate used to have a snarky term for it but I can’t recall.

        Now get off my lawn!

  • peaceetc

I don’t know how you guys find all the stuff you do, but your collective skills constantly impress/scare me. You guys and gals rock big time.

    • Helena

I wish I could join in but I never have a moment to investigoogle any more.

    • BullShite

Speaking of, I think this is her blogger too, though it’s empty, even in cache. I wonder if she may have been busted before? It mentions Swarvosky or how ever you spell it crystals (like she has on her FB image) and falls under her “Mookastar” name.

      • Here we go again…

I didn’t think this one was her since it says FSU… which I read as Florida State University. Or is this Fresno? 🙂

        • BullShite

I just assumed it was Fresno! Well there is a California State in Fresno, and a Fresno Pacific State…. maybe you were right?

Career/Job — Creative Coordinater — Can someone please tell what that is, I’m old, we didn’t have that kind of thing when I graduated from school.

        • Lindsay11

          I googled it!

A creative project coordinator is someone who handles various promotional aspects of a company. They typically manage the marketing or advertising departments. The top priority for creative project coordinator is to sell their organization’s “brand,” as well as its products and services, to potential consumers. Creative project coordinators are employed by everything from start-up businesses to large corporations.

            Thank you very much!

  • Lindsay11

Here’s the screenshots from this Craigslist https://denver.craigslist.org/bts/4549332472.html

  • Here we go again…
    • Here we go again…

She could not find work so she decided to steal others.

      • BullShite

You know…. does she even have a camera? I mean ALL of her pictures that we have been able to find at least, are phone selfies. Has anyone seen ANY photos that look like they were taken with anything other than a phone? I mean, I don’t even see any point and shoot photos! Maybe she thought she could book a few appointments THEN buy the camera??

    • peaceetc

Huh. I wonder how she jumped from that to photography and to stealing others’ images. Desperation? I know it’s pointless to try to guess since I’m sure there’s a lot more to the story, but it’s still interesting.

      • Here we go again…

I was thinking same thing. Sheer desperation.

  • Lindsay11

Here’s the screenshots from this Craigslist http://denver.craigslist.org/bts/4549131013.html

    • Photo Stealers

Thank you! I had pulled them up when they were posted so I was able to cap them even though she took them down.

      • They aren;t down for me. I still see all the craigslist adds listed at the top of the post.

  • MPR1776

She’s watching, all the craiglist postings have been deleted, I take it back, not all of them yet.

    • MPR1776

I found two still showing up…I particularly like when she posts this ” I believe in you get what you pay for and in my case you will not be disappointed!”

      • Lisa Thibeault

I wonder what people think when they hire someone like this and realize their photos are NOTHING like what others have gotten? “Why are my photos not as pretty and dream-like?”

        • MPR1776

I don’t know, Lisa, I’d be calling Judge Judy!

          • peaceetc

I would pay cash money to see one of these cases end up on Judge Judy.

          • BullShite

OMG Judge Judy would rip them to pieces. I almost wish I WAS a photographer so that if someone stole my images I could be on the show! I’ve always wanted to be on the show! Plus they fly you down, pay for your hotel, and pay you your money if you win, so you KNOW if you win you don’t have to hope you get paid!

    • All the ones above are still up for me.

  • U Really That Dumb?

Let’s just nip this one in the bud, shall we? I know, it won’t work, but let’s pretend it will.

To Morgan Dickson Photography in Denver, Colorado, please do NOT do the following:

    1. Flag comments on this listing. We mods will just put them back, so don’t waste your time.

    2. Lie. We have heard every excuse in the book, and you will not come up with something we haven’t heard before. You are not a special snowflake. Nothing you can say will justify what you did, so don’t bother.

    3. Accuse us of slander (because nobody ever figures out it has to be verbal to be slander). We stick to the facts, and if something is publicly available, it’s fair game.

    Please DO the following:

    1. Remove any and all stolen images.

    2. Apologize DIRECTLY to those from whom you have stolen. You owe them that much.

    3. Hope they don’t sue you. Copyright infringement is illegal under the law, and you can be sued for thousands of dollars for EACH stolen image. Yes, seriously.

    4. DON’T STEAL. It’s not complicated — if you didn’t take a photo and don’t have permission to use it from the actual copyright holder, then don’t use it. It’s that simple. Yes, seriously. You claim to be a photographer, so why on earth would you want to use others’ images, anyway? How does that make sense?

    And remember:

    1. If you do it again, you will be caught. Don’t forget — Google knows. Any time someone searched for your business, this listing will come up.

    2. Think about the actual victims here (no, not you) — those whose images you stole. You screwed them over. And frankly, that’s a pretty damned crappy thing to do.

    • Here we go again…

Did you read the support group link?

    • peaceetc

Hey, you stole my post! I am going to report you to Post Stealers. 😉

      • Helena

Yeah I had a giggle at that. Naughty URTD!

        • U Really That Dumb?

Oooh, is someone going to slap me?
          PLEASE!!!!!! 🙂

          • Helena

No, you’d enjoy it too much!

      • U Really That Dumb?

Too bad I reported you first! 😉

        • peaceetc

I’m going to report you for reporting me!

I just ran into this gif on something entirely unrealated to PS, how odd!

      Forgot one

      • Photo Stealers

She uses 100 Layer Cake a LOT for her sourcing.

    • Lindsay11

Those are sooo cute! Too bad Morgan Dickson didn’t take them.

      Nice find!

      • MPR1776
        • Lindsay11

I have no idea how I missed those, nice find. She mentions using a canon, who wants to bet that many of the images she posted don’t have canon exif?

          • peaceetc

I checked a few of the images on the first link, and none of them have EXIF data. It wouldn’t surprise me if Craigslist stripped that data when they compress them for display.

          • MPR1776

And of course there is no data if you are doing screenshots of everything.

          • peaceetc

            Naturally. 🙂

    • brooklynandme

Those pesky automatic watermarking apps… 😉

  • captain-confuzzled

just for grins and giggles, thought I’d look up this company she worked for – per her resume. I’m not finding it at all. If someone else gets a chance to look, that would be great. Wondering if she may have made up the work experience – noting that she “Managed social media campaigns and editorial content to ensure social media programs and communications are optimal” would certainly mean she knows about copyright (or should).

Chasing a Dream Productions Glendora, CA

    • BullShite

LOL I was looking for that too, and I can’t find anything either!

      • captain-confuzzled

LOL I just found that too, did you find it on the LA county name search?, wish they gave a little more info, LA county is a big place, I was clicking on the file number even though it wasn’t a link hoping it would magically become one.

        • BullShite

Yeah I did that too because I was so frustrated. Pretty much EVERY OTHER business listing I’ve looked at has the name of the lister, and if we are super lucky more information. What the heck LA?!

    • MPR1776

According to her support group statement, she couldn’t find a job, worked as an intern for a news station only.

      • Here we go again…

She doesn’t even mention photography skills as an option for employment. But cleaning was an option.

    • Justin Case

so I guess that whole “someone who handles various promotional aspects of a company. They
typically manage the marketing or advertising departments. The top
priority for creative project coordinator is to sell their
organization’s “brand,” as well as its products and services, to
potential consumers” thing was just as phony as it sounds.

I mean, how good can you be as a brand manager if no one can find your company?

      • captain-confuzzled

well, no sign of the company, and she’s left town and crossed state lines, guess that pretty much says it all. ha

  • Photo Stealers

    Updated with the craigslist ads.

  • MPR1776

    And Boudoir shots with watermarks

    • Lindsay11

You know, she might not be unemployed if she put as much effort into looking for a job as she did stealing photos. Just a thought.

  • I think she is the cutest outed stealer to date 🙂

    • MPR1776

I think you may be right, however, it’s still stealing and with her watermark stamped on the pics, that’s bad….$$$ in court if someone sues her.

      • Here we go again…

But her Pinterest account shows intent to TRY some photography ideas. 😉

        • MPR1776

Yes and the pics show her intent to steal images…watermark…watermark

    • Justin Case

aww, so you’ve given up on dear Lucie then Joseph? (sadface)

      • U Really That Dumb?

I’m sure he’s holding out for Lucie, but he’s a smart man and keeping all of his balls in the air!

        • captain-confuzzled

          oh yeah, paintballs, right? 😉

        • hahahah…. I would soooo do her 😛

          • Lindsay11

It is amusing because we all know you Joseph. No offense, but let’s back off a little from objectifying our stealers now, ok? 🙂

(And I do mean this with love, and not to offend anyone, but I’m just worried that there is a line and we are getting close to it. I hope this makes sense! I love my fellow cult members!)

          • U Really That Dumb?

See, I took it totally differently. I assumed he meant in paintball.

          • Ok ok I was having fun well cause she is good looking now back to holding my paint…. Balls.

  • Here we go again…

Looks like her all inspiration on Pinterest is from one photographer … out of California.

  • Here we go again…

Is this listed on resume? Inside MMA

    • captain-confuzzled

I believe that show is produced by the company she said she worked for in Colorado AXSTV

    • ummmm i am confused

    • peaceetc

That’s a really wonky way to try to contact a company like that.

    • BullShite

The proper way to secure clips is just to contact the holder. It’s not like they don’t get requests like this all the time, and have people that handle this stuff specifically.

Contacting via a comment on facebook is not the way to go. For the most part movie FB’s exist just to promote, not really interact with the people on there. Why would a professional not know this? If she is legitimately working for these people (very questionable) she was NEVER properly trained.

  • Justin Case

A bit off topic, but why would anyone be stupid enough to start a company – even a fake one – with a name that has already been used by someone else IN THE SAME PROFESSION?!? And not just one person, but a dozen! (I know this happens a lot, but WTF she claims to have ‘branding’ expertise!)

Example: her wix website (first sign of a true pro) is mjdphotography8.wix.com EIGHT! Even her email address leads to a different photographer. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

    • Marc W.

If they are not in the same markets, I don’t see a problem. Of course the internet makes things harder now.

      • Justin Case

Sorry, mark, but saying the internet makes things harder is kinda like saying ‘only if she’s shooting digital.’ EVERYTHING is about the internet these days. Does she have a bricks and mortar shop? Is she advertising in her local newspaper and on Denver billboards? (God let’s hope not!) No, she’s exploiting the magic of the internet to broadcast her thieving business.

But seriously, since she’s putting her watermark all over these stolen photos, she wants people to identify MJD Photography with her, not with one of the three others I found in California.

HEY, maybe I just figured out why she moved to Denver!

(sorry for the tone, Marc, I’ve just had my fill with dopey things on the internet today).

        • Here we go again…

You seem to be the best investigoogler… have you found any evidence that she has actually taken any photos herself?

          • BullShite

I was just going to say… aside from the plethora of selfies… where is her ACTUAL photography? Honestly, if it wasn’t for the fact she had some family on her page with the same last name, and the her selfies don’t show up elsewhere, I would totally think this profile was a catfish. I mean, at least MOST photostealers throw their crappy shots in between the stolen ones, and there is so little about her out there compared to all of the others.

          • captain-confuzzled

I agree, and wonder why there is so little general Social Media presence if she was a Mass Communications major in college. You’d think we’d see youtube class projects, stuff like that. I was thinking maybe name change, but she does seem to have some connected relatives with same last name, so I’m stumped.

          • Here we go again…

An actual reference with her listed as a photographer… see video description. Fresno State DUI Mock Trial: http://youtu.be/R2MznRosvzY

          • peaceetc

            Whoa. You find everything.

          • Here we go again…

She was actually a writer for the college paper too. Two articles. Lol.

          • Here we go again…

The key was finding that she is actually from Altadena, CA.

          • captain-confuzzled

            awesome!

          • Melinda Potter

“Catfish” great idea BS!! Well, at least Morgan thought so lmao

          • Justin Case

well, thanks for the compliment but I have no special skills, just too much free time and a raw nerve when it comes to people faking photography credentials.

So far, there seems to be no evidence that she even owns anything other than a phone camera despite her threat that she is ‘Armed with just my canon camera and amazing lenses’ (from CL ad).

  • Lindsay11

    Dear Morgan Dickson,
When I google your name, this site comes up second in google searches. This post is like 5 hours old and it’s already straight to the top of your results. That really sucks for you!

The very best thing you can do is delete everything. Apologize to those you stole from. Apologize to friends and family and any clients you might have booked. Then, and this is the important part, don’t do it again! You still might be able to salvage your reputation if you handle this properly.

    • Christopher C.

I doubt she has a reputation to salvage, since I can’t seem to find a single piece of original work.

      • Lindsay11

What?? All those selfies count don’t they? 😉

I know what you mean, but if she wants to move forward at all and possibly find a job, she really needs to clean up this mess asap!

She’s listed as a producer in the credits of a few 2012 Fresno State videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/CSUFresnoFocus2012/search?query=Morgan+Dickson

Seems like quite the jump to go from that to AXS in a year or so 😉

  • The Real Morgan Dickson!

Hey guys! Ive been catfished yay! So this all started about a month a ago, but someone got hold of all my social media info, passwords everything, they changed it all so they would have all the access to my stuff.Tried getting in contact Facebook and the others but since I can’t ultimately prove its me they are still able to keep my stuff up! Believe me just as it is frustrating for you all, imagine my situation im getting messages from weirdos on craigslist messaging my actual email(asshole is actuallygiving it out as a contact) asking for sex or discared underwear. The only reason i found this page was because someone posted the link to my instagram which I thought was odd considering I dont do photography but fitness! So if you guts could pass on the word that would be great!

    • U Really That Dumb?

      Morgan,
While we have total sympathy for victims of catfishing, please understand if people are skeptical. The claim has been used before by photo stealers as a way to take the spotlight off of them.

      • Here we go again…

        Skeptical is right.

      • Marc W.

Yeah, this is a new one for the bingo card.

        • U Really That Dumb?

          We’ve seen it multiple times.

          • Photo Stealers

Just called hacked instead of catfished.

    • Lindsay11

So… why would the person pretending to be you be deleting all the stuff we’ve found? That’s a bit fishy.

      • Marc W.

“Why would someone go to all the time and trouble to do this?”

I was thinking about this this morning. I wonder if she was going to take a paypal deposit and never show up.

        • Lindsay11

I am continually amazed at the “hackers” who take the time to make up profiles and comment and load stolen images and advertise services.

If I had access to someone’s accounts I’d be all shopping!

          • Marc W.

            “Catfishing” is the new “Hacking”.

          • BullShite

Funny how I mentioned “this could very well have been a catfish situation yesterday, with out A)____ B)_____ being in place” and now this. Bullshite meter activated…

    • Lindsay11

WAAAAAIT! The email listed in craigslist is mjdphotography@yahoo.com

If the asshole is giving out your actual email, and you claim you don’t do photography, why do you have a mjdphotography email?

      • Lindsay11

Im sad my gif didn’t work, so here’s the video…

      • Here we go again…

Doesn’t everyone have a photography email address… just in case they want to buy a camera??? Holy lame ass excuse.

    • Lindsay11

Morgan, did you contact law enforcement about being “hacked”? If so please show us the police report and we might believe you…

    • brooklynandme

Your instagram is all yours though, right? It might be mostly fitness but, I’ll just throw these out there.

      • Marc W.

Do you not read? Someone got hold of all her social media accounts, her car, her home, and boyfriend. =/

        • brooklynandme

Don’t you hate it when that happens 🙁 but how thoughtful of the perverted hacker to give a link in the very last post to her new Instagram which is updated with recent selfies and exciting pictures of what she’s ingesting. He must’ve seen the error in his ways and gave up “catfishing” this poor innocent girl.

    • brooklynandme

Hi Morgan Dickson! Your story is unfortunate. But very hard to believe, especially since you forgot to delete these… #mdphotography hashtag and all.

    • Cough cough cough bullshit cough … You were hacked never heard that excuse before #sarcasm

    • Lindsay11

Hey Morgan, isn’t it nice that your hacker took down your facebook and the craigslist posts about the same time you posted here? I guess you didn’t need to call the police at all, just post here?

No one believes you. Stop stealing photos.

    • Here we go again…

I guess we know what that new business plan was… steal one…

    • Achho …. Sniffle …. Cough … Achooo… Ah ooo.cough hacck hacck sorry i am allergic to bs
      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O9xRhwmHBBE

    • Christopher C.

Yes because the first item on an identity thief’s agenda is to prop up a professional web presence and start soliciting photography services.

Nobody believes you because you’re not telling the truth.

    • BullShite

I want to give you a bit of an education on the first real signs of catfishing:

      1) Catfish usually NEVER EVER use the same names or screen names of the people they took from to make their profiles, because they do NOT want to get CAUGHT by the owner or people that know the owner.

      2) Catfish do not have family and friends of the owner of the images on their profiles, because #1.

      3) If a catfish uses your images, or text, it will show up on a reverse image search in multiple places, under multiple names. That said, your images only show up in places that are yours under your, screen/real name both of which is are NOT COMMON ones.

      4) A catfish will NEVER use your personal email addresses, or use one similar to yours, because #1. Getting caught is the LAST thing a catfisher wants. They create these profiles to live a different parallel existence to the one they have, and if they are busted, it shatters the “world” they have created.

Photostealers sometimes suffer the same repercussions of getting caught….

      • Helena

And you love the catfish stories, so you’d know. 😀

        • BullShite

Hell yeah! I am all about the MTV, and the Dr.Phil when it comes to the Catfish!!! Actually, if not for my love of studying catfishing, MBI, borderline personality disorder, scams, etc, I never would have found PhotoStealers!

      • Lindsay11

Honestly, she couldn’t have meant to say catfish because that is stupid.

Maybe I am just giving her way way too much credit here.

    • Helena

I’m really sorry Morgan, but unless you can show us some kind of proof or *something* to show someone opened accounts and set up websites and advertising in your name, then expect everyone to call bullshit. Mostly because it is bullshit. You are not the first, nor the last, person to try this defense, and it didn’t work for anyone else, so it won’t work for you.

      Sorry, not sorry.

    • Here we go again…

If you don’t have access to your social media, how did you post this comment… As yourself… to create a new instagram… 11 hours ago????

      Sigh.

      • Here we go again…

@fit_n_feisty is the the other instagram account

      • U Really That Dumb?

        Those pesky #catfisherpeoplethingies
They shut down the scam and direct people to the real you!

      • The Reall Morgan Dickson

What are you talking about? My instagram name is fit_n_feisty.I’ve has it since the beginning of January so please check your facts.

        • Here we go again…

The fact is you are Mookastar. You still have access… you posted these as a photographer. .. now you are lying because you got caught. Now you are forwarding people to your OTHER account. Doh. Nice try.

          • Helena

And now we know there is/was another business selling bikinis.

          • Here we go again…

            On etsy…

        • U Really That Dumb?

So you’re saying you didn’t post that?
You do realize that the DA will get all of your electronic records, right?
As said before, if you are innocent, then you would do EVERYTHING, including providing a police report, to prove it.

        • And re-read the pst in the image.

mookastar: I’ll completely stop using this page on Friday … blah blah blah … fp;;pw me can do so n fit_n_feisty.

That sounds like mookastar and fit_n_feisty are the same account.

In fact … fit_n_feisty even “liked” that post. So yeah.

    • Melinda Potter

Hahahaha I was bored with this listing until now. This has to be the very best story any photo stealer has ever come up with. I mean, sure we’ve heard the “I got hacked” story before, but this one… Really makes me laugh more than usual.
You’re not a very good liar are you?

      • Here we go again…

What? Every hacker still leaves you complete access AND helps you try to make $.

        • Melinda Potter

Yeah, I think I’ll hook up someone I dislike, and put a whole bunch of ads out there asking for people to pay them. That’ll really get their goat! He he he. Imagine their surprise when people start putting money in their pay pal account, and calling their number or emailing them inquiring about photography services! Ha ha ha. Then, I will turn them into photostealers and they will never work in photography again! Oh wait they weren’t photographers to start with. Ha ha ha. This is brilliant! No wonder people do this all the time 😉

    • Lindsay11

I’m really sad you didn’t hang around to tell more lies Morgan. I’m sure you’ve been reading and I think we’re done laughing at you now (maybe! haha “catfished”.) so would you like to apologize for stealing other photographers hard work? What do you plan to do to make this all better? I noticed you took down Craigslist and your facebook seems to be missing so that’s a start. I hope you give an apology to your friends and family.

Protip: Don’t try to rebrand and start this all up again. We’ll just add your new names and pages here.

      • Here we go again…

I am so glad that the hacker had forethought to go back to 2011 and create a book of photography for us too… http://www.blurb.com/b/2688833-the-domesticated-diva

        • peaceetc

          Those darn time traveling catfishers.

          • The Real Morgan Dickson

Hey guys, dont you think I’ve been telling everyone I know that this has happened to me? Why would anyone intentionally do this to themselves? You think I lije having angry wives emailing them saying im trying to solicit sex or random strangers calling me a liar? My life has been nothing but a nightmare since all of this abd the fact that you all have delved into my personal information only makes it harder for me. Also, mjdphotography.com isnt my email address! And also why on earth would I supply you with a ploice report? Thats private and non of your concern, what I find ironic is I didn’t have to write this post at all I was just hoping to get back up when it comes to findibg tjis person (have a feeling of who it may be)I came here for help but once again I’m stopped by skeptical people, which is completely understandable. But since I wont be finding any here, this is my final post, I’d like to get my life back I’m done trying to explain myself to people who are going to believe what they want.

          • Here we go again…

Repeat…. you posted this 68 weeks ago!!!!

          • The Real Morgan Dickson

That book is from a photography book I had to do to pass my photography class. I graduated in 2012, but im sure you know I that already!Stop going through my personal life, youre just as bad as the person doing this. Also how can I show proof when Im trying to get all the info myself? Im just a normal girl who someone decided to screw. I feel that I would have to be a comple psychopath to do all this harm and still reach out for more info/help.And did it ever occur to you guys the reason this person has taken stuff down because they got caught(even though Im being blamed for it all.) My question to this person (I know you probably know about this page) what was the gain again?

          • Helena

There is no gain to anyone but you? If someone wanted to do something malicious they would set up sites that we’re more risque? They only need look at your instagram to get material.

          • BullShite

Normally catfishers use these photos for DATING SITES and for attracting “relationships” with unsuspecting people… NOT STARTING FAKE PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESSES!!!

          • Helena

No kidding! I just read that blog about the Welsh dude. That is catfishing, not this.

          • Christopher C.

The degree to which you’re refusing to own up to your own mistakes is astounding.

You stole the photos, you were dishonest, and you were the one that got caught. End this ridiculous “OMG CATFISH” charade because everyone here sees right through it.

You are genuinely not fooling anyone. I promise.

          • Helena

People who want help in this kind of situation are more than happy to provide proof. You cannot expect people to believe you immediately.

Have you considered revenge porn with regards to the messages you have been receiving? That sounds entirely more likely a cause. Either way, I suspect this is entirely separate from the photography business and image theft. No one will set up a photography business in your name and advertise it. That makes NO SENSE. No one is going to do it.

          • HEY DUMBASS police reports are public information 🙂

          • U Really That Dumb?

Not imaginary ones! They are private!

          • Oh I forgot about that :p

          • Here we go again…

Make sure to check the police reports back in 2013 since someone CLEARLY hacked her instagram over a year ago to post photography pics… and nicely let her still use the account… and she didn’t delete these Fake posts… and responded to friends about them. how odd.

          • Marc W.
          • Here we go again…

            good.

          • BullShite

That silly Catfish! Cleaning up messes left and right!

          • Once you make a police report it becomes public information any report can be made available to anyone for a small fee. How much you want to bet I don’t find any in your name??

          • Christopher C.

            Police reports are public record.

            A for effort though.

          • Lindsay11

Why did you say the “catfisher” (and honestly, I think you meant just a plain ol hacker here, didn’t you?) used your email in the craigslist then if your email isnt mjdphotography?

If you really and truly wanted help you’d be throwing proof and information at us left and right.

          • BullShite

Funny. How come you never posted anything about this catfisher on your facebook page, when it STARTED (which by our records was quite sometime ago) and WHY did you continually post MORE pictures of yourself AFTER you had been catfished, essentially giving the catfish even MORE ammo?

ALSO: We are ALL aware that you do NOT get posted here as a thief unless you ignore requests to remove stolen images. So if this was a catfisher and not you, why would you not have explained that the stolen images were from a catfisher, who was setting up fake accounts with your image, AND setting up a fake photography business in your name?

AND if the catfisher was NOT YOU, why the hell would they care enough about getting caught, to even bother removing images? If I was a catfisher, stealing someone’s identity to start a fake photography business I would just say “damint, time to start again somewhere else” and abandon it. Not take the time to remove everything…..

            THIS DOES NOT ADD UP!!!

          • Stop my brain exploded!

        • Lindsay11

hahaha I forgot about the book. Oh, sorry Morgan I said we were done laughing. Sorry!

          hahaha “Catfished”

        • Melinda Potter

Sometimes it takes years to set up a good catfish scheme?

    • U Really That Dumb?

      Morgan,
You may want to read your contract with T-Mobile…

    • peaceetc

As others have already pointed out, there are a lot of holes in this story. If you had truly been catfished, one would think you’d be out there, trying to tell people what had happened. It’s not hard to create another profile to get in touch with people to tell them you’d been hacked. And there are ways to prove you are who you say you are — IDs and other documents. I’ve done so with Facebook on my own account.

And, of course, there are other things. You say they used your real contact info, but as others have pointed out, it has the word ‘photography’ in it. We know in May you were getting desperate for a job. You’d hardly be the first person to think that photography would be an easy way to earn some money, nor would you be the first to use others’ images to take a huge shortcut to getting clients.

Why on earth would some catfisher create a business presence with your real contact information in an effort to gain clients (which equal money) for someone other than themselves? And what does that have to do with the pervs messaging you? They do that to everybody. I had some guy on my personal FB start that a few days ago. It happens. Is there something specific to bait the pervs (other than your numerous selfies, of course), or are you implying they are irresistibly drawn to photographers?

And, as Lindsay pointed out, there is that photography book from three years ago. It has both your name and username. That most certainly didn’t start a month ago. Please, I’d love to hear an explanation of that one.

      • Here we go again…

You were very generous to also give the hackers your logo that you used SIXTY EIGHT weeks ago on instagram. Too kind.

        Can I be your friend?

        • peaceetc

Dude. Wait. You’re blowing my mind right now.

          • Marc W.
          • Marc W.

Dude. If my mind wasn’t already blown, it would be totally blown right now.

          • Marc W.

That GIF is really missing the sounds from the video:

          • Here we go again…

            Lol

          • Here we go again…

Hmmmm. No response to this one….

          • peaceetc

Why? Did you blow your own mind? I hate it when that happens.

          • Here we go again…

Dang. That imaginary Hacker must read this page… the instagram just went PRIVATE. shucks.

          • Helena

            I noticed that.

          • Here we go again…

            thumbtack is gone too.

          • Lindsay11

OK well the catfisher isn’t very smart then! I can think of many things an actual catfisher (lol) would do but deleting every thing right away isn’t one of them.

          • Here we go again…

so who actually took that photo in the jewelry ad If she didn’t? #photography #byme

          • peaceetc

I found it here. Not sure if it’s the original source.

            https://www.flickr.com/photos/makhnev/6035025894/

          • peaceetc

I think it is the original. They have a web site and social media stuff and they seem to be a pro photographer out of Russia. The photos on Flickr all have EXIF data, and pretty hi res. I didn’t dig very deep (I’m very dizzy at the moment), though, so someone else might be able to find out more.

          • Here we go again…

I KNEW it was too good to be hers. #liarliarpantsonfire

Perfect. I think Missy MWAC would also be inclined to give her a disapproving look: https://imgflip.com/gif/8j8yb

      • BullShite

        LOVE this!

    • Johnson Smith

I am a close friend to one of the photographers you stole from and she is putting all the evidence together as I type and is contacting other people you have stolen from. While I don’t agree with some of the off topic comments on here, I applaud the investigative skills here and will try to help in the future. Morgan, you are in some serious trouble my dear child and no amount of malarkey you choose to vomit on here will help you out of it.

      • peaceetc

Hi, Johnson! I’m sorry your friend is having to go through that. I hope she gets somewhere, and that it can be resolved quickly. Thanks for posting, and I welcome you to the cult… er, group.

Off topic comments? I am shocked, simply shocked anyone on here would stray off topic. 😉 Since we do this informally in our free time, some rambling is to be expected. We also sometimes get incredibly frustrated by the lies, etc., so some venting might occur.

        Again, thank you for posting.

        • BullShite

That, and sometimes the STUPID is so thick with these fakers, that you HAVE TO inject a few jokes, or a fun meme or two just so your head won’t explode.

          • peaceetc

My head already exploded. It’s all Here we go again’s fault.

          • captain-confuzzled

ewwww, I am so NOT cleaning up any exploded heads. Not even mine, it makes for good fertilizer though.

          • Here we go again…

            you’re welcome. 🙂

      • Lindsay11

I just love the word malarkey, you should definitely post more often.

        • Johnson Smith

I may just do that. I have quite a repertoire of words to share. 🙂

      • BullShite

        A) PLEASE suggest your friend go on Judge Judy! (No, seriously!)

        B) I understand where it seems that some things we find might seem excessive, EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING we post on these pages is publicly accessible, and public information. So in other words, we do not post things that are not readily available, and made available either by the state, government (like police reports, mug shots, business listings, WhoIs info, phone numbers, etc) or by the actual thief themselves.

Sometimes the innocuous posts that seem to “overreach” the boundaries of photo theft have lead to other important finds, such as pyramid scams, domestic violence records, and a consistent pattern of criminal behavior, and can also create a “timeline” that can become important later on. SO there IS a reason for the depth that we sometimes go.

ALSO these people are given FAIR WARNING to remove their images, and only wind up here when they refuse, so it is not like this comes out of nowhere.

        C) Good luck to your friend. These people get away with this so often, because most people don’t see the point or have the time to sue. Usually this site is the only real justice the victims ever see.

        • Johnson Smith

          Innocuous, now there’s a word.
I see your point. I do have a question, mainly because I just don’t see how the injured photographers can really get any relief without socking a purse full themselves. Have you had photographers go through with legal remedy and if so, what was their outcome? And if so, has this blog been involved in the proceedings since the bulk of the evidence seems to have been gathered here?

          • captain-confuzzled

The owner of the blog would have to answer you about providing official legal evidence. But some of the remedies that we have seen occur from the efforts in the follow up posts are: public apologies, information provided to the victim so that they know how to contact the thief in order to send more effective take down notices, invoices for work used, etc. Other sites that the thief may have used in posting stolen work, thus identifying and notifying other victims of the thief. I’m sure there are more, but that is what pops off the top of my head.

          • BullShite

I have a rather intense mental dictionary of obscure vernacular, that I peruse on occasion when choosing the best way to further promote my statements depending on the social forum, but mostly I just type legibly and with punctuation and hope it all works out!

I’ve seen a few of the legit photographers come in and say they are pursuing legal acton against fauxtogs from time to time, but never heard anything from them after, (which may be due to court proceedings, who knows?) though there have been many blogs written about such things, as far as I know we are still waiting for our official “Thanks To P.S I sued this Sonofabitch and won”.

From what I gather, it’s too much time involvement for most of the photographers, who seem happy just to have the theft exposed. I personally would sue the b’jesus out of these fools…especially the repeat offenders.

Personally I can’t wait to hear the story of the first P.S. inspired lawsuit!

          • U Really That Dumb?

Melinda landed herself in jail and still faces more jail time!

          • Lindsay11

That’s true! I can think of a few people Photo Stealers has had a hand in exposing. Jasmine Star, Doug Gordon, dear Melinda…

          • Johnson Smith

No Shit! These individuals went to jail because of photo theft being exposed by this blog? Makes sense, they did commit theft by taking. Good to know. I am wondering if screen shots of Morgan’s communications on here will be enough to satisfy a court or do we subpoena for IP locations, or what. I will need to help look into this.
Certainly enjoying and appreciating the plethora of information here. It is my hope that we can be the first to come back and say Thanks PS, we got em!

          • captain-confuzzled

I don’t think anyone exposed here went to jail directly related to photo theft. Photo theft is a copyright violation and usually in itself not criminally prosecuted (others will correct me if I’m wrong). But, there are often behaviors such as financial fraud, contest fraud, violations of probation, etc that may be committed directly along with the photo theft, and these can be prosecuted criminally.

The information we find often helps to uncover and link the pieces of the puzzle.

          • Photo Stealers

Well, I should clarify. Doug Gordon was an ambassador to Nikon. He was caught plagiarizing several times. PS had a hand in exposing him and now he is no longer an ambassador. http://stopstealingphotos.com/doug-gordon-lindenhurst-ny-part/

Jasmine Star… actually I am not sure why she came to mind as I don’t know much about her. But she was called out here http://stopstealingphotos.com/jasmine-star/

Melinda? Well she’s just a special case all to herself. But yes, I do think that part of being outed here had a hand in her being arrested again. I could be wrong. http://stopstealingphotos.com/memories-life-wedding-event-photography-aka-mp-sports-pics-loganville-georgia/

Most all photo stealers have other instances of fraud or theft or domestic abuse etc etc going on in their lives so that is something that we’ve gotten good at looking into.

You should take a look at http://www.photoattorney.com/help-ive-been-infringed/ as that might help you and your friends who have been stolen from. We would love an update of course! Good luck and if you need help or have a question someone here is bound to know.

People have sued successfully but it’s not a short or easy process. My part in it has been handing over the information I have along with screen captures.

          • It usually won’t go all the way to court. Lawyers will talk and work out a settlement.

As soon as the thief lawyers up their lawyer will go WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! and practically beg for a settlement.

The lawyer is far more likelly to get paid if the client only looses a couple thousand instead of 150000$ per image. 🙂

While he wasn;t taken to court Doug Gordon lost a writing gig for a mag and his Nikon sponsorship thanks, in part, to the work done here.

Judge Judy (or anything similar) is an awful suggestion. It’s not a court of law, it’s small claims arbitration. Plus, damage awards are capped at $5000.

          Terrible advice.

Discarded underwear? Sorry, I just had to laugh out loud when I read that.

    • Just a Girl

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this since I’m on vacation and haven’t been keeping up buuuuuut when you post an ad on Craigslist they send a confirmation email that you gave to reply back to so the whole catfish story is bull! But ya knew that huh! I’m off to drink and get ready to compete against almost 700 other women for a big ole Salmon bright and early tomorrow!

      • Lindsay11

omg I didn’t even think of that. You are brilliant. I am imagining 700 women standing at a waterfall and scooping up salmon like bears. This is awesome.

        Good luck!

  • Did some one say “catfish”?

    • U Really That Dumb?

      ROFLMAO

    • JD Montana

That is TERRIFYING. (Yet slightly adorable at the same time.)

      • peaceetc

I know. I kind of want to pet it, but don’t want to lose any body parts in the process.

  • V323

Dammit. I now need to change the bingo cards & add “catfished” to list of excuses. Well done, Morgan, impressive new BS excuse.

    • peaceetc

We’re gonna need a bigger bingo card.

And, yes, Morgan did surprise me with her excuse. We’ve had elements of it before, but she took things to a new level. Her story is full of holes, of course, but it’s still somewhat unique.

  • Morgan Dickson’s Catfish

Okay, look hey, I have to admit it. I’m the guy who “catfished” Morgan Dickson. I really didn’t mean for it to get blown out of proportion like this. I really just thought it was kind of a like an innocent prank, and maybe getting some discarded underwear out of the deal.

I mean, I’ve got nothing else to do. So I figured out what her passwords were, it was pretty easy (“catfish”), but I’ve since changed all her passwords to past tense (“catfished”). Please don’t share that with anyone. Then, once I had her passwords, I thought I should put some awesome photography on her photography website even though she isn’t a photographer, she’s a fitness person. And then I created some Craigslist ads just to see if anyone would send her some discarded underwear.

Now that it’s blown out of proportion, I thought I should come clean, and clear up her name. Cuz she didn’t do anything wrong.

Yeah, right. That’s how it works, right? In the real world?

    • U Really That Dumb?

      Hi Ron

      • Helena

        It’s okay. I got it. 🙂

    • U Really That Dumb?

BTW, that should read: Morgan Dickson’s Catfisherer and needs to include this picture every time you post.

      • U Really That Dumb?
    • Wow wow this is so low BS … I know have 110 fever. You guys make me sick

      • Here we go again…

I read it twice before I realized someone posted it as sarcasm. ugh. It’s too early. I need coffee.

        • U Really That Dumb?

          🙂

    • You can’t fix stupid

Holy shit – wow, you can really bullshit! Pity this comes up as the first site when you search your name. But then hey, you shouldn’t have stolen photos. (and then lie and say that you were “catfished”)
The bullshit is strong with this one.

      • U Really That Dumb?

        Read it again. It’s satire.

        • You can’t fix stupid

Okay super long week, worked 10 days straight so , yeah not quite with it

      • Marc W.

Yea, it’s a shame employers google you on the internet when they consider you for positions.

  • U Really That Dumb?

Morgan, !o those about to steal, those that have stolen, and those that say nothing ever gets done. Read this!

In a different jurisdiction or a different judge, she would have received all of it. She may still on appeal.

    • Lindsay11

The part Morgan (and all our stealers) should be most concerned about: “The judge awarded me $210,000.00 on August 7, 2014.”

That was a great read URTD, thanks for sharing!
