Lori Cox Photography aka Lori Langston Photography in Sopchoppy, Florida

Fucking Florida, amirite?

I’ve started to get a massive headache so I stopped listing images w/o sources.

Update 2/11/16 @ 11PM

• Lori’s Facebook Page is down
• Lori removed some of the images sourced below from her website, however she added at least one new stolen image in their place.
• Updated sourced images for the website with all images Lori didn’t originally photograph, including stock images.
• Updated source on main background image for website.

Update 2/12 @ 2PM

• Lori’s Facebook Page is still down however her profile is back up, still with stolen work.
• Lori has ads all over Facebook with stolen content representing her work, those are now included below.

Update 6/3/2016

• I received an email from Lori in May blaming hackers for the stolen images being on her website.  Since images remained on her website that were not her original works of art, I did not remove the post.  Also, unless you are posting selfies, you likely were not the photographer at your own wedding so those images have no place in your photography gallery IMHO.

From: Lori Cox
Subject: Being hacked

Message Body:
Please Please delete everything with my name in it.  I was hacked on my website, Facebook and they were leaving me bad email messages.  I am honest and love the work I do.  I do NOT steal photos.  Most of the photos they claimed I stole was my own personal Wedding.
Please remove them, thank you in advance!

• Today I received another email with more information about images that Lori has stolen so I decided to update the post while waiting for a session to download.

• Much of the original material also still remains so I’ve created a new category for Photo Stealers – Lost Cause.  For photographers who continue to use others intellectual works after being caught.

  • I got a massive headache looking at the “design” of her site so I feel you.

  • V323

Someone explain to me ‘in your car selfies’ as your business page profile pic.

  • Helena

It’s always a red flag when they only have like one photo from each wedding on their page.

  • Yes, of course you need to let people know your work is protected. Argh!

    • Helena

Irony meter went past herp, and derp, and all the way up to potato.

  • Ooooh and she sells “her” pictures on canvas, post cards and hand bags. Isn’t that nice 🙂

  • Ok now I’m creeped out. I’m done looking

    • Marc W.

      Sources

    • Steve Gibson

I do love when the take the compliment for a stolen picture. “TY, I do try my best to steal other peoples work”

      • There’s more…sigh… Someone asked for a print of a different photograph, and she told him it wasn’t sized large enough. This of course was after someone asked if it was her work and she said “yes”. Seriously, it’s like a mine field of stock and stolen imagery praise.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

She can’t even claim she posted this as “inspiration.” Unless she can prove she is the actual creator of this image, she’s screwed.

Note to Lori: if you didn’t shoot this photo, great job taking the credit away from the one who did. You are sure to plaster your giant copyright over the image, but did you ever give thought to the harm you’re doing? Do you even realize how very illegal copyright infringement is? Do you even care?

    • Seriously cringy

  • Lorrine

    Geeze….another Florida…seriously nuts. *Facepalm

  • GlennMcQuaig

Easy to tell the difference between her photos (the few there are) and the ones she stole. I predict this isn’t going to take long.

She’s removing comments from her FB page already. Better start the screen grabs. Lol!

  • Andrea Knapp

I see she is now deleting comments from her friends and posting that she did NOT in fact take said photos… A little too late…

    • Celine (peaceetc)

      Good catch, Andrea.

To Lori: that’s not how Facebook sharing works. To post it directly to a page or profile without expression permission from the copyright holder is illegal. Using the ‘share’ function is the only legal way to share an image from another Facebook page or profile.

Lori, please remove all photos you did not take from your page, unless they were shared there the legal way using the Facebook share feature. Then apologize *directly* to the photographers from whom you stole. It will be up to them to decide whether to invoice you, sue you, or accept your apology. This is the only possible way to even begin to repair the damage from your actions.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

      To all:

Looking at this screencap again, I noticed someone left a one-star review in response to this listing. Please DO NOT do this! Photo Stealers / Stop Stealing Photos has a longstanding policy asking that people do not post on the social media pages of those who have been outed here. What you write and do can reflect positively or negatively on this site, so please keep your comments here or on the Photo Stealers Facebook page. Thank you.

    • Justin Case

Strange, it looked different yesterday when someone commented on how much they liked ‘her’ image

    • PhotoWatchDawg

She said she “shared” from Facebook. Total lie. When you “share” from facebook, it shows WHERE the share came from. This was Posted. Which means it was Uploaded. Which means it was downloaded first… and it’s illegal.

  • Kat

“specializing in Weddings, Beach Events, School functions, Sports,
Engagement, Maternity, Newborn, Families, Child(ren), Pets,
Modeling/Pageant & Business.” – so she really specializes in stealing everything.

    • You can’t fix stupid

A specialist is somebody who is good at a few things, I cringe when ever I see a list!

  • U Really That Dumb?

She can’t claim that she never tried pulling off a stolen photo as hers.

    • Hilary

I am beyond disturbed by the Husband/ Wife tag team of lying.

      • Marc W.

They are made for each other. They are both lying thieves.

      • Bob23325

Sounds like another couple of FL trolls that will live on in infamy….

  • U Really That Dumb?

Even her twitter feed has stolen images.

  • U Really That Dumb?

    Lori,
Since we know you are panic mode, please just delete every single stolen image from EVERY page you have! Then start contacting the photographers you stole from and find out how much they are going to charge you for the illegal use of their image. Whatever the amount, start paying!

    • Celine (peaceetc)

Another suggestion, Lori — the bio on your site is at least partially plagiarized. Content theft is content theft, regardless if it is words, photos, music, video, etc. Please revise your bio (and whatever else might be copied) so that is original and not someone else’s work.

  • wizman440

“weddings and etc”. Helpful hint: Et Cetera is latin for “and so on”, so when you say “weddings and etc” you’re really saying “Weddings and and so on”. Just sayin’.

  • Photo Stealers

I see she’s deleted the images I posted but not all the ones she didn’t originally take and added at least one new stolen image that wasn’t there before. Now that I’m back from the urgent care and have drugs I’ll be updating.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

Well, that sucks. Take care of yourself first and foremost. That’s an order.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

Also, Lori — take down *all* of the images you’ve posted you didn’t shoot yourself. ALL of them. And don’t forget to contact the copyright holders of those images directly, explain what happened (truthfully explain, that the image was on your business page and you didn’t ask permission and represented them as your own), and accept the consequences of your actions.

    • brooklynandme

I haven’t been following like I used to but urgent care is never good. I hope you’re okay! And I hope the drugs help. 😉

      • Photo Stealers

Just a kidney infection/kidney stone. Whee. Thank you!

        • Peter Kelly

          Owwww! You have my sympathy!!

  • brooklynandme

I just rooted her page and found this little gem as the source of the bride and groom on the dock. *facepalm* I messaged Moshe Zusman and let him know.

    • Photo Stealers

I sourced the image above but haven’t got to messaging him. Thank you!

      • brooklynandme

He just got back to me. “Thanks for sharing this, those bitches!” 😉

  • Anne Patrinicola Zirkle

Here’s a question for you: Who was her wedding photographer? Because she is using their photos on her website under the “Weddings & etc.” heading… (note the picture from her Facebook account: same arch being used in several photos on her website, and that is her in the photo as a bride)

    • Celine (peaceetc)

She’s using photos she’s in as examples of her own photography work? Even if she obtained the copyright legally from the actual photographer, it’s still wrong because she didn’t take them herself. She’s just full of fun, isn’t she?

      • Anne Patrinicola Zirkle

        A real piece of work.

        • Anne Patrinicola Zirkle

Maybe she was using a tripod and remote trigger…

    • Hilary

I looked on the husbands Facebook and he credited their friend, Susan Wilder, as the wedding photographer.

      • Marc W.

Wonder if she has been noticed if the theift and non-credit.

  • Marc W.

I think her hosting company is websitebuilder.com, so those who have their photos on there can report it.

  • Celine (peaceetc)

Lori has blocked a photographer from whom she stole on Facebook, after claiming she knew nothing about the image in question. Photo Stealers found a ton of ads Lori had posted in various FB groups using the image. Check the Photo Stealers Facebook post for this listing to see all the details.

It takes a special kind of person to steal from someone, lie essentially to their faces despite overwhelming evidence, and then block them to try to prevent further recourse. That she would outright lie when contacted says everything about her character, in my opinion.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

She’s blocked at least one more photographer. She seems to think if she shuts it all out, she won’t have to deal with it and face the consequences.

      • Helena

You know what I think Celine, and it isn’t suitable for polite company.

  • Sawyer Dickey

Someone has outed her on Craigs List:

    https://tallahassee.craigslist.org/crs/5444624691.html

  • Badsey Snapper

She stole an image of someone using camera with the lens-hood on backwards (pet peeve). Face and palm connectivity moment.

  • Michael Goolsby

Lori Cox Photography of Sopchoppy, Florida is small potatoes. She clearly is neither a real photographer, nor does she have a real photography business. She’s just another one of those pathetic wannabes who believes that she can fool people into being her clients simply by having a website filled with photos she clearly didn’t create. If she understood ANYTHING about business, she’d know that her failure to address this issue quickly and quietly virtually assures that her name will forever be linked to lies and deception. The vast majority of photostealers slink away in shame, and I doubt she’ll be any different. All she’s trying to do at the moment is escape the short-term consequences. What she yet doesn’t realize is that her long-term prospects as a photographer (if there ever were any to begin with) are fucked.

“Na-na na, na. Na-na na, na. Hey, hey, hey! goodbye!”

    • Bob23325

I think “Bye Felicia” says it all….

  • Greetings. Someone shared your group’s link on our local FBook “for sale” sites.
I just have to say that it is impressive what you do to watch each others’ backs.

I noticed in a Google search for this offender…your first in the results. Excellent. This is important data for consumers to see.

    Kudos,
    From Florida Compliance Geek.

  • Hilary

At least she knows how to clone in Photo Shop. That’s makes it hers…. right? Anyone? LoL

    • captain-confuzzled

we do know she slapped her watermark on a photo that someone else took. We actually don’t know if she did the clone work.

  • Celine (peaceetc)

For the sake of posterity, as far as I know, Lori Cox has not contacted any of the photographers from whom she stole, nor has she made any sort of apology, either in public or private. She has blocked at least some of those who have tried to contact her, and has not taken down all the stolen work, from what I’ve gathered.

Evidence has shown she has not only claimed copyright on stolen images (both via a giant watermark and through text accompanying stolen images), but she has also accepted compliments on stolen work, giving every indication she was the creator of the stolen images.

For those looking to hire Lori Cox of Sopchoppy, Florida, please consider the evidence presented here before making your decision. I ask that you do not support someone who has demonstrated having no regard for other photographers, has evidently violated copyright law for commercial gain (which is punishable under US Copyright Law), and seems to be perfectly willing to blatantly lie. Thank you.

  • Michael Goolsby

Lori Cox Photography of Sopchoppy, Florida… a suggestion to you that you cease using other photographers’ work to represent yourself, and then apologize to each any every photographer you stole from, as well as apologize to every client (I doubt there were many) that you deceived. What you are doing is morally wrong, illegal, and unethical. Is that really the type of photographer you want to start off being? Do the right thing, Lori Cox Photography of Sopchoppy, Florida. You will utterly fail with your current plan.

  • Hilary

And the Bingo lands on……… Hacked.

  • Hilary

Even the husband is in on it….

    • Bob23325

Yeah… She “took it” alright… but he “knew what to look for”…. and they both happened to be in Sandbridge (south of Virginia Beach, VA) at the same time…. SMH

  • Bob23325

I was looking at her thanking people for the compliments on the Jan 2 photo of the beach with sea oats in the foreground. I did a quick Google image search for grins. (Sarcasm warning…) She must have made a lot of money off all those real estate Websites using HER photo in their advertising….

  • Photo Stealers

Post updated with additional stolen images.

  • I mean really whats up with Florida…smh

  • You can’t fix stupid

She has tons of sites with stolen images on them. Not just one site.

  • Lying liars that lie and continue to lie, to try to cover up their lies only make their dishonesty more blatant. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    • You can’t fix stupid

Do you think that she actually knows that she is stealing? She has stolen so much and lied so much that she doesn’t know what it real anymore.

  • SMH

    Dtammen Daniel!

    • SMH

      *damm

  • Michael Goolsby

She fulfilled all of my expectations I shared four months ago:

“Lori Cox Photography of Sopchoppy, Florida is small potatoes. She clearly is neither a real photographer, nor does she have a real photography business. She’s just another one of those pathetic wannabes who believes that she can fool people into being her clients simply by having a website filled with photos she clearly didn’t create. Hmmm…. too bad she didn’t cure her theft months ago. Now she is upset that she actually is suffering consequences.

  • Hilary

Guess she decided to delete her Facebook page and start over. Oh wait! Starting over with a stolen image. SMH. It’s funny that she is saying she was hacked because she stole lighthouse pictures, used them to make canvas prints and then was selling them at a gallery as her own artwork. When caught by the original artist, the gallery made her come pick them up to be distroyed. The husband contacted the original artist to apologize and let her know that he was a disabled veteran in hopes that she wouldn’t sue. Now how did hackers do all that?

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c587488d8922468edb39a6d30d3c2ded54fb602aaecca6ac1baaa2992ba9f3c1.png

    • Peter Kelly

I think she must be living in a deluded world of her own making, demonstrated by the clear instructions that you can share, BUT NOT CROP OR EDIT any of her pictures, as they are subject to copyright. She seems to be blissfully oblivious that they are mostly dreadful, with awful editing and cropping (which is why she steals).

The woman needs mental health treatment.
