With this photographer there was a concentrated effort to crop out and sticker over existing watermarks.  No.  Just NO.

If you don’t have photos of your own setup, don’t go trolling for them on Pinterest/Google/Facebook.  Take your camera, take your props you intend to use, set it all up and take a photo.  It’s not really that difficult.

Be better.  Do. better.  Stop Stealing.
(I think I may make this my new tagline)

In 2013 I went viral with the worst photos I’ve ever taken in my career.  To this day, 6 years later, it still amuses the hell out of me.  They were featured from everywhere from PetaPixel to Rangefinder to the Today Show and a million other places.  The blog text also got a lot of traction and I even ended up being in the New York Times about it.  It was pretty wild!

However, with going viral comes copyright infringement and since that blog went viral I’ve dealt with photographers over and over that can’t seem to credit me for my blog post.  I keep getting told by the photographers I email it’s “not a big deal” but it is to me!  There are some photographers who have been kind enough to ask before reposting and I’ve always been pretty generous with allowing photographers to repost the blog with credit.

Today’s photographer plagiarized my viral Unplugged Wedding blog post.  She did rework it a but but it’s plain what the original source of her copy is.  She even kept the bride and groom’s name the same and wrote the blog as if she was there, which is really unsettling to the bride (AND me). No credit is given to me for the source text.

The icing on the cake is that the images included in the blog post are not hers either, and of course no credit is given.  They aren’t mine (guess they were too bad to steal!) so those are also sourced below.

I am having a cocktail tonight.

It has been a while since we’ve had someone brazen enough to toss their watermark on everything.

Many of these sessions double over onto the Pixieset gallery.  It’s late, I have a raging headache so I’m not sourcing all of them but rather posting the gallery screencap below the sourced collage.

There are quite a lot of suspicious images on her various pages that I couldn’t find sources for, make sure to check and make sure none are yours.

Edit 8/15/19 @ 9AM

I had to call it a night around 2AM last night due to my raging headache.

She took down her Facebook Page in the wee hours of the morning but the pixieset and instagram remain.

Allegedly her excuse is that hackers did it.  Because of course they did.

I am adding additional images from her pages that I didn’t get a chance to source last night.  I’m also adding her services page from her Facebook Page that had a bunch of stolen images as well.

There are still a lot of images I’m waiting for sources on.

Another day, another idiot photographer using stolen images to advertise for cheap mini sessions.

Update 11/30/2023: As I was writing my latest Substack newsletter an email came in tipping me off that Amanda is still up to her same shit. She’s changed her editing style, somehow amassed a decent following on Instagram and is now selling to photographers. You’d think from an innocent glance at her instagram that she’s living clean and learned from her mistakes…

Except now she’s using stolen photos to advertise to photographers for various retreats. On some she does say (beneath the cut or deceptively hidden of course) they are inspo but not all. She did not receive permission to use the images from the photographers that I’ve heard back from so far.

Note: this isn’t even the second time she’s done this. When I outed her in 2019 I got a hefty amount of messages that she’d done this numerous times before.

Sorry it’s been a bit quiet around here.  3 double header weekends in less than a month means I’ve been too busy to work on much on the Photo Stealers end.  I’m taking a wee break from busting out editing for busting photographers tonight.

Today’s post is a fun one.  She posted to a Facebook Group asking for CC of an image she actually took.  However a quick pop over to her Facebook Page showed she was using lots of images that aren’t hers.  I had to stop sourcing so I could go back to what actually pays me to work (if you want to support my work here – hit up my Patreon!)  but there’s dozens of images I didn’t source and may add later.

I also love (note that was in sarcasm font) that she often edits the original photographer’s work.   Let’s add some salt to that wound right?

Fucking hell.  I need a cocktail.
