It takes a special kind of photographer to submit stolen images to the local news for an article about their new studio.  It’s even more special when they PRINT stolen images and display them proudly in their studio window.

I also should note the reviews for this photographer are not good.  It seems they have an issue delivering images in a timely manner, if ever.

  • Celine (peaceetc)

To TREASURED MEMORIES BY MORABITO PHOTOGRAPHY IN ELLWOOD CITY, PENNSYLVANIA,

Welcome to the world of being outed by Photo Stealers (Stop Stealing Photos). It is our goal to root out and put a stop to photography copyright infringement. Your outing is one step towards that goal. You used photos you were not authorized to use, which is illegal. You’re probably confused and angry, so let us try to help you get a handle on things by giving you a checklist of things you should be doing and not doing.

Please do NOT do the following:

    1. React with anger, go into denial, or start in with the threats. We already have the evidence against you. The best thing you can do for you is to be honest and to deal with this head on.

    2. Flag comments on this listing. The mods will just put them back, so don’t waste your time.

    3. Lie or offer excuses. We have heard every excuse in the book (really, we have. One guy even blamed Obama.), and you will not come up with something we haven’t heard before. You are not a special snowflake. Nothing you can say will justify what you did, so don’t bother.

    4. Accuse us of slander (because nobody ever figures out it has to be verbal to be slander). We stick to the facts, and if something is publicly available, it’s fair game.

    5. Create fake accounts to defend yourself. We will see through it, and it’s just a waste of time.

    Please DO the following:

    1. Remove any and all stolen images immediately. That means now. Right now. And no, simply hiding them from public view doesn’t count. They need to be completely deleted.

    2. Apologize DIRECTLY to those from whom you have stolen (and tell the truth!), and offer monetary compensation. You used their images in a professional setting to try to make money, so you owe them that much.

    3. Hope they don’t sue you. Copyright infringement is illegal under the law, and you can be sued for thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, for EACH stolen image. Yes, seriously.

    4. Apologize publicly, on all the sites and social media accounts where the stolen work appeared. Again, you owe it to your clients, fans, friends, etc., to be honest.

    5. Learn about how copyright works. Look up the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. What you may think you know and what is actually the truth are probably two different things (as in: no, posting someone else’s photo as “inspiration” is not a valid reason, nor is it good enough to provide credit. If you don’t have express permission to post someone else’s image, then you don’t post it. That’s it, the end).

    6. DON’T STEAL. It’s not complicated — if you didn’t take a photo and don’t have permission to use it from the actual copyright holder, then don’t use it. It’s that simple. Yes, seriously. You claim to be a photographer, so why on earth would you want to use others’ images, anyway? How does that make sense?

    And remember:

    1. If you do it again, you will be caught. We go back and check old listings to make sure they haven’t started stealing again. And don’t forget — Google knows. Anytime someone searched for your business, this listing will come up.

    2. Think about the actual victims here (no, not you) — those whose images you stole. You screwed them over. And frankly, that’s a pretty damned crappy thing to do. And think about the clients you’ve mislead by presenting a false front. They’re victims, too.

  • U Really That Dumb?

Let’s just nip this one in the bud, shall we? I know, it won’t work, but let’s pretend it will.

TREASURED MEMORIES BY MORABITO PHOTOGRAPHY IN ELLWOOD CITY, PENNSYLVANIA

    http://www.treasuredmemoriesonline.com

    Such STUNNING reviews!

    • Justin Case

I just can’t believe those reviews – I mean, according to the FAQ on their website “How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
The proofs are available within 30 days after the wedding. It usually takes a week or two for editing.

Will images be available for viewing online? Yes”

    • Me, Myself and I

      HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!
That is some major irresponsible behavior!

  • Hilary

From the reviews, it sounds like she needs to just stop with trying to be a photographer. Stop right now…… You are not a photographer and you can’t even deliver on the clients you have. Sigh…

    • V323

What’s frightening is they look to be the shoot & burn type, yet STILL can’t deliver a cd?

      • Marc W.

Or realized they screwed up the shoot and is afraid of delivering their photos.

        • barque

I think you nailed it Marc. They probably slave and sweat over each image trying to make their crap look like their portfolio.

          • Me, Myself and I

When you polish a turd, you don;t get a diamond, all you get is shit on your hands.

  • Marc W.

    *GASP!!!!!!* SHOCKER!

    • barque

Maybe she’s also their best client. 😉

  • Basically

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • Celine (peaceetc)

I try to avoid addressing the actual photography skills of those outed here. But I will say this: if they had the put effort into learning their chosen craft and business that they did in using others’ images illegally, they might not garner such comments.

    • barque

I comment on the lack of skills of the photographer sometimes, but only in making the point that there is no way in hell they can live up to the expectations of clients who paid them to produce photos of the quality seen in their phony portfolios. I just can’t get past frauds pretending to be award-winning image-producers.

      • Celine (peaceetc)

I understand. It’s frustrating the lies and deceptions these people do, when their actual work is terrible. So many people that get taken in by it, believing it’s the photographer’s actual work, and frankly it pisses me off.

  • Marc W.

She’s the official photographer for the Ellwood City Chamber… … … They might want to know that the goverment entity is using a theif as their “official photographer”

    • U Really That Dumb?

I wonder if they can be reached for comment?
Since the local paper ran the other article they will either burry this one or HOPEFULLY bring down the guillotine!

    • U Really That Dumb?

The paper and Chamber are probably not happy with what’s happening to their twitter feeds!

Anyone call PPA? They won’t be all that happy!

      • Justin Case

Think Photography was also listed with PPA. That accreditation means absolutely nothing anymore, considering how many thieves that have been documented here have been members.

        • Photo Stealers

          You pay, you’re a member. Ta-da!

    • Ellwood City Area Chamber

While the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce has used
Dani Morabito for photography work in the past, the Chamber has never had an
“official photographer,” nor were we aware that she was using the
phrase “official photographer of the Ellwood City Area Chamber of
Commerce” in her advertisements. We currently work with more than one
photographer and, to our knowledge, we have not published any photographs by
Treasured Memories or Morabito Photography in the last few months.

If we have unknowingly published photographs that were
improperly attributed, we will of course remove them immediately. Please
      contact the Chamber at execdir@ellwoodchamber.org
with any information you may have about misattributed images and we will remove
them from our website and Facebook page.

      • Me, Myself and I

        OUCH!!!

      • Marc W.

Will she be on your rotation of photographers even with her blatant thievery?

      • barque

thank you for coming here to address this

      • U Really That Dumb?

        Thank you for commenting.
Can you please explain why the article is still up and why a retraction or correction hasn’t been posted? I would think you want this cleared up immediately. It certainly doesn’t look good.

        http://ellwoodchamber.org/2014/01/02/treasured-memories-by-dani-morabito-photography-expands-studio/

  • Marc W.

Anyone have the “website filler photos” square on their Bingo card?

“Sorry you wasted your time looking up stock images and our award winning work.”

    Wait, WHAT? HAHA

    • Photo Stealers

I belly laughed at that one.

      • Marc W.

My mommy gave me an award, I must do award winning work too.

    • michelle

I may or may not of emailed the newspaper too with the link to this site. 🙂

  • barque

“…an issue delivering images in a timely manner.” Not a surprise with fauxtographers. I’m willing to bet this problem is directly related to the larger and stickier issue of delivering photos that live up to their phony portfolio.

  • Factitious_Detector

Oh this is brilliant! I love it when they get all arrogant and flippant.

  • Justin Case

And exactly what ‘National Award’ have you won? (claim from the first paragraph on the ‘About Us’ page)

And how do you explain the fake reviews which seem to contain exactly the same typos that appear all over your website an (sic) review descriptions? http://www.yellowpages.com/ellwood-city-pa/mip/treasured-memories-by-morabito-photography-475924694

Sorry, but your excuse, like your ‘award’ and the rest of your business, is just not believable.

  • barque

It appears she doesn’t expect this is going to kill her business. As of an hour ago she just posted up a new flyer

    • Factitious_Detector

She’s in the denial phase, where things like being busted for being a fraud and a THIEF haven’t quite hit home yet. Don’t worry it will.

      • Jim Martin

The denial phase ends when the first page of a Google search for “Treasured Memories by Morabito Photography” is nothing but links back to stopstealingphotos.com 🙂

A humble suggestion for Treasured Memories by Morabito Photography: You should try doing some searches on the names of other “photographers” who have landed here…. it is very informative and will help you better understand what you are facing.

  • xma1e

Well I went to Asda Supermarket, because Tesco has that smelly security guard (and they banned me), and I was walking down the aisles when some tins of Heinz Baked Beans just appeared out of nowhere and into my shopping trolley! I walked out of the shop because the staff must have put them there because I didn’t do it!

Well when I was outside and emptying my trolley, I was so shocked when this big ugly and smelly security guard (they must be twins) called me a “thief”!!!

And to top it all, they had the bloody cheek to accuse me of stealing more Heinz Baked Beans from some guy called “Reduced Price” who seems to have his own shelf in this supermarket too!

    What a friggin liberty!!!

    #jesuischarlie

  • Photo Stealers

It has been brought to my attention that Danielle Morabito is claiming that these screen captures are from a year ago. I assure you, and can prove, the screen captures from her website, Facebook and ads were taken today.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

It’s unfortunate she’s lying right out of the gate. I hope with each new listing that the person outed will take full responsibility for their actions and do the right thing. Most of the time, I am disappointed, but I still hope just the same.

Treasured Memories Photography, please know this: the person who runs Photo Stealers does not lie about what gets put on each listing. You, however, are proving otherwise. It’s utterly pointless because there is ample proof otherwise, so just knock it off and own up to your actions.

  • Factitious_Detector

Oh look at that… she even PRINTED OUT stolen work for her wall of BULLSHITE.
Do they give out Awards for being a SCAM ARTIST, because she deserves one!

  • Award winning work….hmmmm awarded by what entity?

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • Michael Goolsby

Wow, it’s bad enough when profit on the backs of real photographers. But it’s especially bad when they can’t even deliver a product to people BEGGING for their pictures!

Precious Memories by Morabito, you are a lousy excuse for a photographer, and you appear to have the same contempt for real photographers as you do your clients. We’ve heard your excuses before, and they are an insult to those of us who find and expose scum like you.

Real photographers value and respect their clients. And they don’t STEAL from other photographers! Because of this, I have very low expectations of you and how you will handle this. Most likely, there will never be any acknowledgment of wrongdoing, much less an apology. Most likely, there will just be either silence or more excuses as you try and blame OTHERS for your own choices. Pathetic. Sad. Infuriating.

  • Helena

“These photos were removed over a year ago when we discovered the photographer working for us hadn’t taken them…”

And you left them on your websiteFacebook knowing they weren’t yours?

“…the others are stock images that were used on flyers printed by vistaprint or that vistaprint
added to our website along with our photography when we paid them to
    make our website.”

Because stock images are obviously the best way to adequately represent your business, especially when you can pick out the stolen… I mean stock work from a mile out. It’s misrepresentation at the very least.

“Sorry you wasted your time looking up stock images and our award winning work.”

Can you point me in the direction of this award winning work, because I haven’t seen any. It helps not to be so cocky when you’re caught breaking the freaking law.

    • Roc New

Excellent point. Just what image of hers is award-winning? please share that with us Treasured Memories by: Morabito Photography.
I guess she could have gotten an honorable mention at some local county fair and she is counting that as award-winning.

      • Me, Myself and I

It’s weird that she doesn;t mention the award specifically on her pages … I;d be displaying it proudly on my website and facebook page.

        • Marc W.

And on her wall next her stolen prints.

      • Roxie

I’ve won countless blue ribbons at my county fair.. and my photos have been published in a company calendar, on a product website, and in our local newspaper… yet I don’t consider those to really make me “award-winning” or “published.” LOL. I guess I’ve never felt the need to add meaningless fluff to get people to book me.

  • Photo Stealers

Another place where she’s got a gallery of images: http://www.viewbug.com/member/daniellemorabito

    • Helena

Oh, is that where these “Awards” are coming from?

    • GlennMcQuaig

And here’s one of her “Award Winning” photos from that site! With her own copyright and everything. So she MUST be legit. Right? :-/

The unbelievable nerve of the photo thief.

      • Justin Case

        truly, truly despicable.

  • Helena

I still can’t get over people not delivering wedding photographs. It is such a dick move. Even if what you have is shite, you should still hand it over. They will never get that day back, and you fucking ruined it you charlatans. Now every memory will be tinged with sadness that they didn’t get pictures of their special day because they hired some “award winning” prick of a fauxtographer.

    • Jim Martin

Given all the angry Facebook posts, I am starting to wonder if they even try to deliver finished product to their paying customers. Maybe fauxtographer is being too kind.

I feel bad for the people they have burned. There is no getting those special moments back.

      • Me, Myself and I

You know … taking on contracts and willfully not delivering on them can lead to FRAUD charges instead of just breach of contract if it can be proven they never had any intention to actually deliver the goods … suddenly it goes from a civil matter to a criminal one with potential jail time.

        Just saying.

  • captain-confuzzled
    • Me, Myself and I

      OMFG!
Grouon is a HUGE RED FLAG in photography …

100$ studio shoot when groupon keep 50% of that sale means they are GROSSING 50$ per “client”.

They are offering 3 background and 3 outfit changes meaning that the shoot is ar least 2 hours minimum (losing over 20 minutes to 45 minutes just on wardrobe changes).

So let’s take 75% of the remained for the codb (cost of doing business) leaving us with 12.50$ gross. Now add another 60 minutes to sort through the images, edit the finals, resize and upload them tot he client gallery, email the client the login info …

      So 12.50$ / 3 hours = 4.16$ an hour … if they are lucky.

Now, on top of that, they are trying to sell 50 of these packages.

      50 X 3 hours = 150 hours / 37.5 a week = 4 weeks worth of straight work.
150 hours @ 4.16 an hour = 624$ GROSS for 4 weeks of work or about 156$ per full week of work.

Yup … sure going to make those mortgage payments at that rate!

How can ANYONE who has allegedly worked in this industry for years think this is a sustainable rate?

      • U Really That Dumb?

You’re assuming she’s actually paying for her studio space and has a mortgage.

        • Me, Myself and I

Yeah … just read some of the comments about how her parents own businesses on that street.

      • xma1e

you’re also assuming that she’s going to edit and deliver them.

        • Me, Myself and I

Sorry, it just doesnt compute for me that a photographer wouldn’t deliver …

  • Marc W.

Facebook down. Let me guess, she’s blaming the “hackers”.

    • Photo Stealers

It may or may not have gone down after I went off on her in a Facebook group when she blamed an ex-employee and claimed the screen captures were a year old.

      • barque

That I want to see, lol.

      • barque

And wait, why would it matter how old the screen-captures were? “We WERE scammers but not now!” haha

        • Photo Stealers

          ::attached::

          • barque

I’ve noticed that a lot of stealers, somewhere in their denials, state very strongly that they’ve worked their butts off to get where they are. Somehow it angers them that people even care that they are fraudulently posting others’ work as their own.

In your response to her, did you point out that she printed out stolen works and proudly hung them in her studio? 😉

I like how stealers think they can keep posting lies, as if they aren’t going to get called out on the carpet over them. Suppose does she really think the “VistaPrint Template” excuse is going to get her through this?

          • xma1e

you work your butt off and still managed to be that bad? Sit back, take a load off your feet, no one will notice dear!

      • Celine (peaceetc)

If you have screencaps of her responses, that might be a good thing to add to this listing. It shows she is continuing to lie.

      • Oh man … I so hope u hace a screen-cap of it before she blocked you

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • Celine (peaceetc)

Danielle and Joel, the two people behind Treasured Memories:

The screenshots above do not lie. You can try to deny things, but this is ultimately your responsibility. This is not about what may or may not have happened a year ago, it’s about what’s happening right now.

About those “stock images” you claim you used, tell me — did you purchase the proper license for each image? Did you read the fine print where it says you state or imply you took them? Did you make any effort to let people know those “stock images” were not your work?

Do you not think, as photographers, that you should show your own work when advertising or your photography business? Do you think using “stock images” (which at least part of them were not) might lead potential clients to think you actually took those images, and that you can reliably produce work of the same quality? Does your own work live up to the quality of those “stock images”? Frankly, Danielle and Joel, they don’t. They just don’t. I’m not saying that to be mean, I’m saying it because it’s true. Anyone with knowledge of photography and an objective eye can easily see that.

You run a photography business. The images you use on your web site, social media, advertising, etc., represent that business. When you use others’ work, it is deceitful. And when you use others’ images without permission — that’s just flat out illegal. And you did. That much is clear, and honestly, it’s pretty stupid.

So, my advice to you — read the pinned post above. Own up to your actions, apologize to each person you wronged (and that includes clients and potential clients), and accept any repercussions coming your way.

Copyright infringement is a big deal, and it’s very illegal. Unless you want to be sued for up to $150,000 per image by the photographers from whom you stole, you had better deal with this now.

Oh, and Danielle and Joel: GIVE THE PHOTOS TO THE PEOPLE WHO LEFT THE ONE-STAR REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK. I don’t know what the hell you were thinking (if at all), but do your fricking job and give them their memories. You know, those things you claim to treasure.

  • Marc W.

O!M!G! She has no excuse that she didn’t know that those printed photos were stolen.

    http://www.ellwoodcityledger.com/danielle-morabito/image_00a5f899-ee1f-58a7-aca1-ddc3c0d0293a.html

    • Factitious_Detector

      OH WOW. The friggin CHEEK!!

    • chuck knuckles

Oh My Gawd, if there were ever a candidate for electroshock therapy, it’s that bundle of fraud sitting on the couch under all those stolen pictures, with the big shit eating grin on her face.

    • You can’t fix stupid

Left a comment for them. <>

      • xma1e

Considering they posted it the same day PS post this page I’d be willing to give them some leeway as this has only just broken out.
It’s a bit hard down rating THEIR page when there is a perfectly good “message” button. Or have you already messaged this company?

        • You can’t fix stupid

If what we found out is true, then the parents own the newspaper. Their subscribers need to see.

            Ah! I see! Totally!
I thought it was just the building, but sounds a bit like a wannabe Mafia going on there.

          • You can’t fix stupid

This is the paper that her parents own. http://news.ellwoodcity.org/2013/07/18/photos-treasured-memories-grand-opening/ and this is their FB page. Wonder if they will do the story. 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/pages/EllwoodCityorg/128909493589?sk=reviews

          • Savannah

            Her parents OWN the newspaper??
Didn’t someone report this to the local news as well? That might be helpful info to include, that the parents own a popular news source.

          • ac

No her parents do not own the newspaper. They might (if anything) own the building the Ellwoodcity . Org is located in.

Her parents do own the building her studio is in so no monthly rent for her I’m sure.

And her “partner” Joel is not even her husband just an on again off again live in boyfriend. No surprise there is another lie there on her website.

          • U Really That Dumb?

I think the confusion is coming from the words Newspaper and Paper. The Ledger is the ‘paper’ and EllwoodCity.org is the ‘rag’. i.e. local gossip weekly, correct?

            Who is:
            Eric Ryan
            Sam (Signs by Sam)
            Eric Venezie

How are they related to her?

          • EC

As far as I know, they are not related to her, other than perhaps being tennants of her parents. Eric Ryan is a corporation in town, not a person. Signs By Sam is a company formerly owned by a man named Sam that was taken over by Eric Venezie and his company, Eric Ryan. That company also runs EllwoodCity.org which is an online news source. The Ellwood City Ledger is a print newspaper that also publishes most information online. The two are not related. Hope that clears up the confusion! As previous posters have mentioned, Ellwood City is a small town who tries to support their own. Unfortunately this woman and her “husband” have taken advantage of the community. Hopefully this information gets out to residents quickly.

          • xma1e

if their family own the rag and are promoting her, why offer to upgrade the star rating, they don’t deserve it since they would have known the truth long before the PS article.

          • You can’t fix stupid

I posted that before I found out. Don’t quote me just yet, still checking if it is the same paper. … give me a few more minutes.

        • Marc W.

          No, it’s one year apart.

          • xma1e

            that’s true. My bad.

    • You can’t fix stupid
    • xma1e

      Doh!

    • Michael Goolsby

I remember way back in college, I had a roommate who, when in high school, had some difficulty with the law. He and his friends would steal cars for joyrides and take whatever valuables were in them, and then abandon them. They were caught when they used stolen credit cards in a department store and bought a camera, among other things, which they in turn used to take pictures of themselves as they bought other stuff. The cards were reported stolen, they were arrested in the store, and the photos were used against them. Because they were from very wealthy homes and it was their first offense, they didn’t go to jail, but rather were put in a “scared straight” program where they visited hardcore criminals in jail. He told me that taking the photos of themselves stealing was the most STUPID thing he’d done.

Ok, so here’s a woman 1) appearing in a newspaper photo, 2) in her home, 3) with photos she did not take, 4) on her wall, 5) claiming that she took the photos. No other explanation is needed — or possible! There is simply no credible way whatsoever to attribute this situation to anyone but herself. This has to be the most incriminating — and, in turn, most STUPID — thing I’ve seen a photostealer do! This one photo (and its accompanying story) is all that is needed to both see what a total scum-sucking dirtbag this piece of crap fauxtographer wannabe is, and to prosecute her huge ass for multiple counts of theft, fraud, and copyright violation.

Indeed, we talk here about how stealing harms the original photographers, but when she also has a slew of clients who either have not received their photos, or are simply unhappy with them, it would seem that ANY client of hers could easily sue her for FRAUD, based on the fact that she used stolen material to misrepresent herself with the intend of luring clients under the false pretense that she was actually capable of producing the quality of the examples she shows. Again, this one photo would be amazing evidence. One likely does not even have to find the original photograph to present in court…. a copy of the newspaper would probably suffice beautifully.

      Scum bag…

      • Marc W.

I’m sure the original photograhers of those photos would love to see this story.

      • Celine (peaceetc)

I agree, Michael, what she’s done is incredibly stupid. More people need to know about this, especially those in her local area. People need to see her for the fraud she is. The fact she has prints of stolen work and is proudly displaying them is especially galling.

By the way, can we avoid talking about the size of her backside? That’s not relevant, and it would be best to avoid personal attacks. Thanks.

        • ac

Don’t worry I have shared this link on my personal facebook page when in turn had led my local friends also to share. Word WILL get around I will guarantee that. This town is small and people love a good gossip story here!

          • Factitious_Detector

Do let us know when she’s shut down after her FRAUD and THIEVING are good and widespread.

The friggin’ nerve and arrogance she has just kills me.

      • Justin Case

(Just one correction to your otherwise excellent synopsis: according to the photo caption, that image was taken IN HER STUDIO, not in her home, so further proof she was trying to deceive potential and actual clients)

  • U Really That Dumb?

    Who exactly is http://news.ellwoodcity.org
    What are they?
    Who owns them?
What other businesses are they involved with?

  • This is the third time that someone far away has stolen our work (that I’ve found out about). Hey, that means our SEO must be working, right? :/

    • Me, Myself and I

That sucks … hopefully you can sue and help you business cash flow. 🙁

On the other hand, be happy that your work is good enough to be stolen. 🙂

      • That’s the joke that we make. “Hey, we’ve finally made it! Someone stole our stuff!” The downside is that they are people who lie about their experience and skill and ruin wedding photos for paying couples who deserved better.

  • U Really That Dumb?
  • U Really That Dumb?
  • LoLTonelica

The sweetheart sale ad is still up on her website. *facepalm*

  • U Really That Dumb?

What business? Like as in the same building?

Is EllwoodCity.org owned by them as well and is that why they use her?

    • ac

I meant “building” not business sorry…autocorrect.

I am not 100% sure who owns Ellwood city . Org what I see it as for our town is an “unofficial” news site online for the community. They run just like our ledger but do tend to focus on more local happenings and events. I couldn’t tell ya one person that works there or runs it. It’s got an office on our main street as well, but I rarely ever see anyone in there. Worth looking in to. Treasured Memories does not own them though I am pretty sure of that.

      • U Really That Dumb?

OK, con-fuze-ed now. They own the building SHE is in? Or another building?
Do they print or just online?

        • ac

Her family owns the building she has her studio in…i don’t know, but don’t think her family owns the ellwoodcity.org building, but don’t quote me on that. The business is about a block from each other.

Ellwood city.org is strictly online. They pretty much do exactly what our newspaper does but just online and more community based.

What I see is that she always seems to show up at community events snapping pics, they get used. Who knows if these organizations hire her or she just volunteers. And she then advertises her business on these sites.

She is sneaky. She even has advertisement on her car she drives around. I’m going to take a look next time I see it and see if any of these stolen images have been used on that as well.

  • barque

What’s really strange is that Danielle still has this photo up on her personal facebook. She had the gall to enter it into a contest on ViewBug. I’ve left a message there, and I see someone else has too.

    • Helena

But she didn’t steal anything! She’s totes innocent. 😉

      • Factitious_Detector

It was the Associate that printed out those photos that douchepickle forgot she sorta didn’t take, and hung them on the wall! Stupid Associate! That wall was from YEARS ago! Bahamas!

        • Helena

Yeah, and they took down every photo as soon as they realised that everyone could see they were full of shite.

    • barque

Message to Danielle Morabito at Treasured Memories: About time to pack it up. I know the last 24 hours or so you thought maybe you could argue about all this and make up stupid excuses like, oh a year or so ago an associate of ours gave us photos to post but we fired her blah blah blah.

However, as you can probably see, your web of deceit is way too big and convoluted for a simple escape. You have put photos you stole into contests online. You have printed and displayed stolen photos. You have sat down in front of stolen photos on the wall of your studio and had your own photograph taken with the stolen photos you hung on the wall. You have at least this one stolen photo still up, to this very hour, on your own personal facebook page. There is no way you can possibly make everyone believe this was just a case of a rogue associate posting up photos you didn’t realize were stolen. It’s over Danielle.

And Joel Stinson: Really sorry, man. It looks like you’ve put in some extra hours trying to keep livid clients at bay while you guys failed over and over to deliver to them what they paid for. I am sorry because this is probably just a bit too much to digest, right? You’re either in on it, which would be bad enough, or you’re not and this is a major thing. So I get that this is a bad week one way or the other.

Time for a family talk. How should you best come clean, admit to the Chamber of Commerce what you’ve been doing, and resign. Admit to the photo contest web sites what you did, and delete. Admit to your clients and friends and anyone else who thought you were a legitimate photography outfit, that you’re NOT. And quit. Close it up. Do something else.

Whatever you do, don’t forget you owe clients some photos. Get them to them; don’t withhold from them their “treasured memories.” If nothing else you will at least be able to say you didn’t destroy important moments in other peoples’ lives by leaving them without the photos (good or not) that belong to those special days.

Oh, and get hold of all the photographers whose work you have pilfered. They need a call because they need to get it straight from you and if they see fit they can accept your apology and let it go. Or accept your apology and some sort of payment for using their image and let it go. Or, they should be able to yell at you a little, and still maybe sue you if you don’t seem contrite. Either way, get hold of them, all of them.

      • Ellwood City Area Chamber

“While the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce has used Dani Morabito for photography work in the past, the Chamber has never had an
“official photographer,” nor were we aware that she was using the phrase “official photographer of the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce” in her advertisements.

We currently work with more than one photographer and, to our knowledge, we have not published any photographs by Treasured Memories or Morabito Photography in the last few months. If we have unknowingly published photographs that were improperly attributed, we will of course remove them immediately. Please contact the Chamber at execdir@ellwoodchamber.org with any information you may have about misattributed images and we will remove them from our website and Facebook page.”

    • Celine (peaceetc)

*sigh* Okay, so they’ve used the stolen work in the following ways:

      * Advertisements in multiple locations
      * Prints in her apparent studio
      * In a news article
      * At least one photo contest
      * Business web site
      * Facebook, including both a personal profile and a business page

What am I missing? Please feel free to add to the list.

  • xma1e

Someone should make a big “As seen on Photostealers.com” and stick it on her car or studio window!

    • That is such a fun idea.. if only someone would create a template we could print out haha!

  • GlennMcQuaig

ac, thanks for posting your comments. Your information is helpful. Much appreciated! Keep us posted if you find out anything more.

  • Marc W.

I don’t know if this is kosher to ask, but do you know if her “studio” has the stolen prints still up?

    • Amber

I drive past it today. The framed horse pic has been removed. All that was left was the filmstrip banner. I was really hoping to see it boarded up! People of Ellwood deserve to know!

  • Savannah

It looks like the news website removed her posting, I can’t find it.

    • Marc W.

Which posting? Her studio shot is still there.

      • Savannah

On EllwoodCity.org maybe i’m just missing it.

        • You can’t fix stupid

YEs, that one is down but the Ledger one is still up.

  • LoLTonelica

Looks like both articles have been pulled now. I wonder if they’ll write an article about all this? I mean, this kind of local scandal will sell papers (oooh media…) but I wonder if the town is too small and won’t want to offend “one of their own”.

  • U Really That Dumb?

Do you have links to the other articles?

Does she have pull with the State Police?
    Attorney General?
    District Attorney?
    Federal Judges?

    • Dom

It turns out her other name is Danielle stinking and supposedly she has a pull from only local law ingot met and possibly a local judge. From what I was reading this young man and his wife had a unique store and then this crazy bitch decided to copy, attack, and blackmail this young man who was fresh out of college.

      Read both articles:

      • U Really That Dumb?

        Thanks!

        • Dom

I talked to a few people and it turns out this guy who owned the Mystik monkey was told to close down or face more charges. The gave this guy charges every month until he had a breakdown and closed. After driving this young mans life down she decided to open another shop that copied the local comic store!
          http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UnPMxC244oQ

          • Marc W.

What a piece of work. Both her and her husband.

          • Luke

I know a friend that knows that young man and I heard that hes no longer the same person he used to be after what these bastards did to him. The stalked Bryan every day until he had no option but defend himself. He was a good young man straight out of Robert Morris university and dani was a fat blob that would flash her breast and stalk him.

          • You can’t fix stupid

            That poor guy.

          • Factitious_Detector

Is that “Joel on disability for a heart condition” dancing around in that outfit?

          • Luke

Yes that’s him and if u dig deeper he also dresses up and fights in those renaissance fair things… Ask this girl for info: https://m.facebook.com/SythTrunn?fref=ts

          • Oh man … towns like that exist ??@?@?

          • Marc W.

And this is why I love being near a big city… even in the south!

      • barque

So if I am reading those right, the young couple open this curiosity shop in April, and will also rent the space for events and parties… and by July, Danielle is opening the exact same kind of shop and a separate room upstairs to rent out for events and parties. Did the young couple go out of business or get run out of town or what??!

      • Marc W.

        “Danielle Stoneking”

        • xma1e

I prefer his original version, her actions are pretty “stinking “

      • xma1e

Nice find in the second link, the comment about who her parents are, confirming this is the same person.

  • Just a Girl

Hmmmmmmm Until you are able to post VERIFIABLE FACTs to this page you need to keep it off of here. Especially when you say ” I know for a fact”…… Until then you don’t know shit and you are putting a whole group of people in a really weird spot. I call BS til you back it up with verifiable proof.

  • xma1e

My earlier comment yesterday about her being Mafia, was just s joke.
    I must be psychic

    • Dom

Cough cough…. All upstandig good old boys club. Includes upstanding judge, attorneys and yours truly’s daddy.

      http://www.ecwolves.com/members.html

      • Factitious_Detector

I totally buy it. I’ve spent more time in PA than I would like, and it’s full of small towns like this. The good news is that these losers only have power in those little podunk nowheres…. the real world doesn’t give a shite about who your daddy is, and how much of a spoiled, entitled, and EVIL human being you’ve become. No one cares about a small town judge, or a small town mayor, but town.

  • xma1e

I still say some should stick a big “As seen on Photostealers.com” sticker on her studio window.

  • “Dom”, “Luke” and anyone else that might have any solid information, links, court documents, or that knows any local or local victim of Moribito, that would be willing to talk about this, please feel free to contact me via email: bullshizer4ever@gmail.com
Anyone that has names of her former businesses, or any evidence of them too, or any other alleged “assaults” that she has been involved with, (regardless of eventual fault) that would be ace. Feel free to remain anonymous if you have any links or solid evidence you can send, or hints as to more places to look for any information.

    • Dom

I found her one victim and I’m still searching for the others. https://www.facebook.com/bryanjosephl

      • I sent a message to him asking if he would like to tell me his side of the story, though I am not betting on it, given the fact that he might suffer more retribution from the local old boys club, if anyone knows any mates of his that could let him know he’s got a message from me in his “other” inbox, that would be ace.

  • Just a Girl

HAHAHAHA Nice try…. but not by a long shot! HAHAHA

  • Helena

Yeah JaG is definitely not Danielle. 🙂

Although we’re all waiting for her to appear.

  • chuck knuckles

So the cops of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania are crooked? The judge is crooked? They are all “on the take”, or at least covering up for each other, and working for Danielle Moribato’s family?
This hornets nest sounds like it needs to be pushed up the ladder and investigated at the state or federal level, if there is anyone honest left in the system…

    • Thanks for all of this, I’ve been able to corroborate all of this information about the Club connections, and I keep uncovering more, barely concealed corruption, which runs VERY, VERY deep in this town.

Hopefully those that live there will start to fight back. I can’t imagine what sort of intimidation was used against that rape victim, considering the story of Bryan and his shop.

      • Dom

That Mystik monkey guy was also called out as being a Wiccan and having different religious views then the community. I’ve watched one day as the police stood in front of his shop and told people he was a devil worshiper. The video below shows the view of the community!

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PL27594D1DCE26EB70&v=X2XmpFeRc7w

        • Its scary when I see a bunch of people in a crowd holding up wooden crosses and there is not one black person mixed in there 🙂

          • Dom

Every time ellwood tries to hire a chief they end of firing him. The last two Chiefs lost their jobs. The previous mayor in 2008 called the black chief a Ni€${r at a town hall meeting. http://articles.dailyamerican.com/2008-02-02/news/26318314_1_police-force-police-lieutenant-police-officer

          • Marc W.

I love the end of the article.

“Wallace noted that Ellwood City had few blacks, but said race relations were not tense. “It’s OK,” she said. ‘The kids play with each other.’ “

          • Dom

The last chief was fired after he did a major heroine bust that was in the millions! He was a great chief who wanted to clean this town up and had decades of expierence from pittsburgh. They still after a year will not release the reason why they suddenly fired him in a secrete meeting that he wasn’t present at. They eliminated the position of chief and gave power to the rapist LT Kingston.

            http://m.ellwoodcityledger.com/mobile/news/local_news/ellwood-city-police-chief-blindsided-by-council-s-decision/article_174a7102-3110-5523-82b5-6d01db8f134b.html

          • So he did his job too well and took some of the drug money out their pockets…. got it ..

          • Factitious_Detector

I haven’t seen a SINGLE non-white or female face in any of the material relating to the local mafia either….. OH I mean “Community Service” club. Besides, why would a non-white or a woman want to have anything to do with community service? Right?

          • Bart

Joseph, I think you need to open a studio there and give Daneille Morabito aka Dani Stoneking of Treasured Memories By Morabito Photography some competition. 🙂

  • Jim Martin

The links to the Chamber of Commerce and the News Article appear to be down.

Given the post from “Ellwood City Area Chamber”, I can understand why the Chamber link is gone, but I don’t see any explanation of why ellwodcity.org redacted the “News” article.

A Google search for “Treasured Memories by Morabito Photography” now features a link to stopstealingphotos.com on the first page.Given the nature of the discussion and ongoing revelations the small town of Ellwood City PA is about to get some very unwelcome publicity courtesy of Danielle.

  • LoLTonelica

Welp, connected the Stoneking last name to the baby daddy. What I find weird is the article listing her as Danielle Stoneking while talking about Mr. Stinson being her fiance. Seems rather odd that she would not have changed her name before getting engaged…

    • Christopher C.

That’s not odd at all. Seriously. At all.

This person may be an awful and dishonest thief, but the last name thing is a complete and absolute non-issue. Most people wait until they actually get married to change their last name since the marriage certificate completely negates the need for the much longer process of a court-petitioned name change.

Beyond that, some people do actually keep their last name. Not everyone changes their name when they get married.

      • Wade Wilson

See but that’s the thing. It’s her ex husband’s name. Not her last name. Her last name is Morabito, her ex husband’s name is Stoneking, her current “husband”/fiance’s last name is Stinson.

I mean, you aren’t wrong about it being a non issue, though it certainly helps to have all the different names she has gone by over the years when you are digging.

        • She needs to wait until she is married … obviously she has commitment issues LOL

        • Marc W.

Looks like she’s referenced herself with her “husband” / fiance’s last name too as it shows up on a free background check

          • Rick

Danielle was married for a few years and had two children with mr. Stoneking. While she was early in her pregnancy she cheated with mr. Stoneking’s best friend Joel. She uprooted her marriage and left and told Joel that she was pregnant with his child even though he was told he could never have kids. She eventually married Joel many years later on the smoldering remains of that monkey store. The truth came out and dani told Joel that he was not the father of the one female child and Joel beat the shit out if her. They got divorced and now they are at it again for another round of craziness. Her boyfriend Joel is on social security bc of a heart condition. Joel made over 30k in a settlement for a faulty pacemaker. He claims he can’t work but their are plenty of articles of him running around the town as a superhero.

          • Marc W.

Sounds like the insurance company needs a PI to investigate. 🙂

          • blah

And smokes cigars and cigarettes! I hear those help the heart.

        • LoLTonelica

Correct, and that was my point, thank you.

The other question I have too now is this: has this happened before under her old name and has she scrubbed the evidence? In one of the Ledger articles they talk about her as Danielle Stoneking, looking to open a new studio. Has the community always known her as a “photographer”?
Treasured Memories by Morabito Photography is an awful mouthful. Is it a simple case of rebranding?

Sure, all of this could mean absolutely nothing. It could also point to her having been at this longer than just recently and this particular instance.

          • Factitious_Detector

My guess would be that there are times when the family doesn’t want the Moribito name in the news, and times when it does.

          • Wade Wilson

I’m sure that this is nothing new, as their previous businesses have all had something shady about them. To name a few of those old businesses in hopes someone can dig something more than this up, Nature’s Muse, Labyrinth Theater, Asylum Game Room, Vs Gaming and Gifts, and now Treasured Memories. There was at least one more which I fail to recall that had something to do with graphic design, but all of these stores of theirs have had something a little off about them, whether it was stealing from customers and neighboring businesses, intentionally trying to run other better established businesses out of town, or just trying to spite a college kid and his wife who had just started their own business.

          • guest

I was ripped off by Vs Gaming years ago. I sold them Pokemon and Magic cards almost 4 yes ago. My family was in a crisis and I desperately needed money and knew they weren’t paying me enough for the cards but needing the money more than the cards I sold them anyhow to later find out from someone who knew them the one deck they made out of those cards was sold for $6000. What a blessing that money would’ve been to us. I guess Karma really is a bitch…..

  • Marc W.

Is there anyone local that can give us an idea of the atmosphere pertaining to the stealer?

    • Jane doe

What do you particular mean as in atmosphere Marc? Just an FYI just walked past her studio (looks a bit bare on some of the walls lol) i dont think insaw anymore “stolen” photos up, but she still has her banner up above her shop with the stolen senior pic on it. I took a pic (sorry for the bad quality it is dark out and just had my cell)

      • U Really That Dumb?

Wow! The girl has some balls! Does she realize that she’s looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines AND by having that up and using it as advertising she’s committing fraud. I wonder how mommy, daddy, the mayor, judge, and police are going to feel when the world comes crashing down around the town.

      • Marc W.

I was curious if people are talking about this or are they blind lemmings to her and her father’s boys club.

        • Jane Doe

Oh no people are talking this is getting passed around facebook I’m seeing “trying” to defend her actions and I see people totally disgusted with it. Sad thing is a lot of us good people know how corrupt this town is and hate the fact it is run this way, but they have all the money and loopholes and our voice usually gets brushed under their rug. I hate this town. I didn’t grow up here and if it wasn’t for my kids family being here I’d be gone.

  • Do you know the names of any police officers, or attorneys that might be involved with the Wolves? I’ve already confirmed the connection to the Judge, Mayor, and Morabito’s father.

    • Luke

Liberatore, Matt. Magnifico, Robert. Are some of the cops.
Magnifico’s own police dog mauled him last year and he sued bc the town never trained the damn dog! The most corrupt cop isn’t listed but he took a plee deal for rape. He is still a police officer. His name is David Kingston. http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2202&dat=19951110&id=jRImAAAAIBAJ&sjid=vP0FAAAAIBAJ&pg=5548,1029781

The corrupt attorneys are gene, dimeo. And nick, frisk.

    • Jane Doe

Okay you ready. Jaret Gibbons – state representative, Magnifico ellwood K-9 officer, Leymarie Ellwood City’s attorney. That are some of the names I see of importance. Sounds like a political mafia lol.

  • Jane Doe

HERE’S A HAPPY CUSTOMER! I love how “knowledgeable” she is about the original photographers and this website! Plus she just negatively promoted her business some more by trying to be helpful. GOOD grief! Good job!

    • Helena

So she has some partially sighted friends as customers. Good for her. Still doesn’t excuse using stock images as a representation of what you can do, especially when the difference in quality is so vast. Only a talentless hack would use someone else’s work to advertise.

      • One of my images was stolen. Not a stock photo. Not free to a good home. Stolen from one of my websites.

        • Helena

Oh I know. Danielle told someone it was stock and her “award winning” work. She is, quite frankly, full of shit. I’m sorry your work got stolen, especially to get business for a hack like Danielle.

    • Factitious_Detector

UH…… if you are a “work for hire”, like say, AT SEARS, then it’s not YOU that owns the photos! So not only did she STEAL from other photographers, she also stole from her former employer.

    • Helena

This was on one of those pictures, and shows why Danielle Morabito/Stoneking/whatever will never be a decent photographer. Her head is stuck too firmly up her own butt for her to be remotely critical of her own work.

    • Peter Kelly

I’ve long been cynical of online testimonials, but just doing some idle googling concerning this thread I came across the Yellow Pages entries for this business, which had a couple of 5 star ratings from ‘ProudDad35’.

      http://www.yellowpages.com/user/yp/ProudDad35/502598118/reviews

Curiously, his only other activity shown is a 1 star rating to another photographers in PA. Could this be related? Fishy, methinks…

      • Helena

Yeah the other review was the previous night. This guy is getting a lot of pictures taken apparently. Wonder how she’s planning to get other photographers shut down.

        • Factitious_Detector

          Easy:

          Cause a commotion.
          Get the other person blamed.
          Whine to Pops.
Pops tells his little Boys Only clubhouse buddies in town that his poor hamdaughter is all butthurt, so go find something to charge that meanie that DARES to stand against her with.
Lt RAPE CHARGE sends his corruptacops into action!
Business folds thanks to trumped up nonsense
Danielle gets her way, and opens up some OTHER storefront on the corpse of someone else’s business.
The town closes it’s eyes and looks away.

At least that’s my GUESS. 😉

      • Justin Case

Hey Peter, have a look here: http://stopstealingphotos.com/treasured-memories-morabito-photography-ellwood-city-pennsylvania/#comment-1783370402

That ‘review’ was clearly written by the same person who made the entry and wrote their website.

      • Marc W.

Two 5 star reviews a day apart from the same person.. hm…

    • Factitious_Detector

I’m sure “TONS” of people illegally use this trademarked logo too, owned by a very LARGE company to advertise their shop! That makes it ok!

      • Me, Myself and I

        Laziest … logo .. design … ever.

      • Marc W.

        Is the store defunt now?

        • Factitious_Detector

Yep, looks like after they ran Bryan out of town they opened “The Natures Muse”. That didn’t last long. They then opened Vs. Gaming in the same store front, and that didn’t last long either.

I don’t get the obsession with this business thing. I mean, starting one brick and mortar business and FAILING one time is rough. I think someone said she’s had EIGHT? And why do it to run other people out? Pure evil? I just don’t get it.

Where does the money to start this garbage come from? Joel’s supposed settlement? I wonder if that’s why she got with him? LOL.

          • captain-confuzzled

I did find some FB evidence from a few years ago that Joel’s health decline was the reason for the closing of Vs. Not sure how much all of that plays into the multiple business attempts.

          • Marc W.

He got sick and tired and wanted to open a new store.

          • Dill

He claims his health declined but there are pictures of him dressed in full knights gear just this past summer. He płays role playing games in the woods with those dozens of people. His clan is called tuchux clan.

      • Wowness

    • Helena

This was on one of those pictures, and shows why Danielle Morabito/Stoneking/whatever will never be a decent photographer. Her head is stuck too firmly up her own butt for her to be remotely critical of her own work.

    • Delusional

    • Marc W.

They don’t get that the terms of use says you can’t claim it as your own work.

    • Michael Goolsby

Are those four pictures supposed to be the “good” photos? If so… oh lord!

      • Me, Myself and I

That third (or is that turd … sorry, couldn’t resist making a pun) shot is just god awful …

I know we normally don’t critique here but it is in response to this client/friend/white knight’s countering of this post so …

Bad pose, squinting, raccoon eyes, pipe growing out of the girls head, turned to B&W to hide more faults … I wish I could see a larger version of the image.

If this is what passes for good photography in that town … I think their minds would be literally blown if I showed them actual AMAZING photography …

don;t want to name any names here or link to proper photographers sites so as to not pollute their SEO but you all know what I mean.

        • keca

I think their minds would be blown if we just showed them GREAT photography. I just can’t even grasp how anyone would be thrilled, or even satisfied, with these results after looking through the stolen photos she advertised with.

          • Helena

I wouldn’t be happy with those as an amateur, but then I’m always finding fault with my pictures.

    • Factitious_Detector

I did a little digging… she didn’t even PAY for these photos. It was a photoshoot for Danielle, I am guessing to beef up a portfolio or something similar. (See the second comment down.)

She’s not even a “customer”, just another bullshitter.

      • Michael Goolsby

And you were expecting legitimacy? 😉

More and more, it appears as if there is absolutely no legitimacy whatsoever to this woman, even less so than the typical fauxtographer.

And yes, it is appropriate to comment on quality when it is relevant to the issue of photo stealing. For instance, there actually have been occasions when remarks made here towards photo stealers include such sentiments as “You know, your own stuff is not bad at all. You shouldn’t feel that you have to steal.” In contrast, the only remarks justifiable to this fauxtographer should be along the lines of “What few photos we see of yours clearly shows why you feel you should steal, as they demonstrate absolutely no technical or artistic expertise. Real photographers work their ass off learning and striving to produce quality photographers. You really should try doing the same instead of merely sitting on your ass as you pose for a newspaper story with all those stolen photographs shamelessly at your back.”

Those photos are an embarrassment to the professional photographic industry.

      • toofunny

Check out the nice Butterfinger wrapper in the bottom-right of that middle pic!

Very authentic. **eye roll** They look so bummed to be doing this shoot.

  • Me, Myself and I

Read through the previous articles .. Just a Girl is certainly not Danielle. LOL!

  • GlennMcQuaig

This seems like one of the very worst of the thieves I’ve seen here over the years. Not just content to be a simple photo thief. She’s a multi-discipline thief, extortionist, and all around bad person. It’s crazy to me that people like her spend vast amounts of energy on destroying others, stealing, and conning people, when it’s so much more satisfying to actually learn a trade or profession legitimately and work at it. Grow, get better, teach others, touch others in a positive way.

What kind of deviant mind does the opposite of that?

    • Michael Goolsby

      You’re absolutely right, Glenn.

Every so often, a few of us comment on the psychology of our photostealers. And though we are cautioned to exercise restraint in such matters, there is indeed a consistent pattern among the majority of them; where there is photo stealing, there are often other forms of questionable, socially deviant, or even downright illegal behavior which invariably surfaces. And I believe that it likely exists in other photostealers, but that we simply never find out. Even a cursory examination of our photostealers in general reveals a plethora of behavioral disorders! This is why I think that the subject of photostealers might be somewhat of interest to psychologists.

I just submitted a detailed email to all three major news outlets. Here’s hoping that the negative media attention will trump any power moves she could use with her connections!

      • toofunny

Awesome! Thanks Biff! I hope more people learn about her “business” this way and all the deceit revolving around it. Also, I live in the same hometown, trust me, she doesn’t have any connections like you think, or at least those that are willing to put their job and name on the line for her. I think it was blown out of proportion here in the comments when people found out about her Father being friendly with the District Justice and whatnot. It means nothing.

        • Luke

Have u had her personally look in your face and tell you, “do you know who my daddy is? We can really screw people.” I have once after getting in a heated argument with this “professional photographer”.

          • Helena

Eurgh. People don’t like that shit when you’re 12, let alone a grown arse adult.

      • Factitious_Detector

        Same here man! Here’s hoping.

I just found out that some friends of mine, who had an image stolen by this fauxtographer, had the same image stolen by another fauxtographer. Has this one been exposed here yet? http://www.davidrolandphotoandvideo.com/

It’s the same image of the couple with the horse at the fence. The guy is also using the image to offer 20% off is services on his FB page. (Feb, 2014 post)
    https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/David-Roland-Photography-and-Video/1409667025944568

  • Biff

I was once a photographer competing for business in this area. I’m ashamed. I backed out of trying to run a photography business, mostly thanks to people like this. I say this as a person who has done 50+ weddings, gone to school for art/photography (at a school that was NOT a degree farm like Art Institute), and photographed the Lemieux Foundation as a hired documentary photographer for both on-ice sessions and charity golf outings. People like this ruin it for people who take it seriously. I didn’t have the business knowledge to do it successfully, nor did I enjoy taking pictures of people/for people I didn’t know. The art appealed to me, but the business no longer does.

All that said, this person is a total shame to an industry I was proud to say I was (temporarily) a part of. I accomplished a lot in the short time that I did it, but ultimately failed due to a saturated market and lack of business acumen and talent to overcome that. She should be ashamed. She stole other photographer’s work, claiming is as her own… going as far as printing and posting it in her own shop without being able to reproduce the same quality!

Thanks to this site, she just might see justice. Thank you all for pitching in. Photography is not easy, despite what this ignorant person might think.

  • toofunny

Just to clear things up. Ellwoodcity.org is not
affiliated with the Ellwood City Ledger (the town’s newspaper), but
Ellwoodcity.org is a legitimate website for happenings, current events, and
other things involving the town. It is NOT the “rag”, a rumor
mill. BUT there is a section on the website, which is a message forum
type thing that, for all intents and purposes, is a freaking rumor mill.
It’s called Sound Off! and can be found on http://www.ellwoodcity.org. I haven’t
been there for a while, but the last time I was there, Sound Off! was very
archaic and disorganized, but nonetheless, it was used by hundreds of citizens
of Ellwood City to complain about things and gossip more or less and it was also
intensely moderated — if they did not like what you said, it would not appear
as a published post. I think they turned it into an actual forum-style
message board lately though. Anyhow, the reason I am bringing this up is,
someone from here should go to the Sound Off! section on http://www.ellwoodcity.org
and put this entire story on blast. Summarize it, post links, opinions,
all of that good stuff. If you want to let hundreds more people know
about this in Ellwood City, the Sound Off! is the place to do that, I assure
    you!

    • Factitious_Detector
      • GlennMcQuaig

Naturally whoever posted it to Tumbler had to include MY NAME in it. Ugh! Thanks a pant load, whoever you are. I make one post with a photo of hers here and bam! There I am, front and center. Lol!

        Oh well. C’est la vie!

    • Justin Case

toofunny: If you are finding your messages aren’t being posted (which I assume you do, hence the TRIPLE post) PLEASE follow the instructions and verify your account.

It will save everyone a bit of trouble and make these messages easier to follow for the rest of us. Thanks.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

As Justin wrote, please create a verified account. It’s easy, and would save us mods time. Every time a message gets posted by a non-verified account, it has to be manually approved by one of us mods, which is why your messages don’t show up right away, and why I’m guessing you posted it more than once.

  • Michael Goolsby

You’re simply repeating my argument. Certainly, photo stealing is merely yet another manifestation of these behavioral disorders in general. I never suggested otherwise. Indeed, the whole point of my post was to point out that photostealing is often merely the tip of the iceberg. But, the very nature of this project means that these people FIRST come to be known to us in the form of photostealers. Despite how their behavioral disorder may have manifested itself in earlier episode, these people are known to us only AFTER their behavior includes photo stealing. It is our own deeper probing that reveals past or other patterns of behavioral disorder. And I would imagine that we most often learn of only a very small part of it, especially in their personal lives, which probably has rich histories of serial relationships, casual, intimate and professional.

  • keca

Where is it on the SoundOff! page? I cannot see where anyone has posted it.

    • Jane Doe

I tried to this morning…but it never got posted Hmmmmmmmmmmm did they not approve?

  • Marc W.

A lot of people posting there, I think, are using anonymous accounts anyway.

  • Just like that the sky fell in

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • Marc W.

    Is this a recent development?

  • Celine (peaceetc)

The only people who would see your email address are the mods, and we won’t share it with anyone. If you are worried about that, get a disposable address to register.

  • Roxie

I emailed PPA to ask if members are screened before they are approved. Unfortunately, they do not have the resources to screen people like this (lame.. considering how much I pay to be a member). It really diminishes the credibility of us actual professional photographers who are members of PPA, when there are hacks like this amongst our ranks. In my email I mentioned two photographers who were recently ousted by PhotoStealers and that they both claimed to be members of PPA. The rep said that they did just receive what they call a BRE Complaint filed against someone ousted here. It is a complaint over a member who is violating their bylaws, rules, and ethics (BRE) and this particular one was over copyright infringement. So, they do something about it at least. I think I’ll submit a BRE complaint against this Danielle since I believe the other was probably a complaint against Mr. Malloy last week. The more we come against this as an army, the fewer people will try this crap.

    • C Sab

I think this proves PPA isn’t worth shit these days.

  • Roxie

Time to start researching the rest of “his” images… PhotoStealers may have their next victim.

  • Jane Doe

Oh boy I would love to see that. His temper is ridiculous! The cops have been called on him a number of times for getting into altercations with people around town and his “wife”.

  • Courtney

Deb they all appear to be down now. Did you save screen shots?

  • Wow. I go away for a month’s holiday and come back to this and Think Photography.. wow, what gems! Great work to everyone on this particular post. Can’t wait to see the fallout.
Curious as to how long before someone contacts PS with some sort of legal threat in an attempt to shut down this post.
    Great work as always everyone!

    • Helena

I’m surprised there hasn’t been some legal threat already, but then maybe they’re not that stupid after all?

This is what you get for going on holiday Al. Don’t do it again. 😉

      • haha I promise I won’t do it again. Catching up on this (and Think Photography) was probably more difficult than the hundreds of pages of Defense Appeals Briefs (from 6 separate defendants!) from the war crimes case I’m currently working on!! Good thing I’m a speed reader (and have no life!)
        That teaches me!

        • And also, this story is so f’ing crazy that it puts truth to the “the truth is stranger than fiction” saying.
Unbelievable. Especially the whole, “posing for a photo for an article in front of a wall of stolen images I’m claiming as my own”… unbelievably awesome.

          • He has been shunned in Virginia

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

          • Me, Myself and I

No, no, no … she never claimed they were hers … they were stock images … everyone is allowed to use stock images!

It’s just like those companies that buy or rent images to decorate their offices … right? … RIGHT?

            end sarcasm

          • Helena

            Hahaha.

  • Helena

So it’s been nearly a week and the only locals who have come on here to talk about Danielle and Joel are people who want to spill about what horrible people they are, and how fucked up Ellwood City is. I think it’s safe to assume that Danielle and Joel are not that popular (understatement of the century), especially based on the fact that not one person has appeared as a white knight or even a lowly sock puppet. They did LARP and couldn’t come up with a friend to white knight for them. How funny is that?!

Obviously they are not intelligent enough to come here and defend themselves and their “national award-winning” bullshit, or they would have done it already. I hope there’s another blog soon. I can’t wait to read more about these losers.

    • Crap you are right they are on a short list of stealers that have not resorted to using a defender/sock/whitehat to defend them.
Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

      • Helena

That’s because they have no friends Joseph. Sad but true!

        • xma1e

          Bingo! 🙂

    • Jim Martin

I suspect Danielle isn’t coming here because she knows daddy and his wolf pack will take care of this just like they’ve done to everyone else she has victimized.

      • U Really That Dumb?

If she thinks there is anything she, daddy, or his friends can do, she is seriously delusional! There are bigger fish than her that have tried and seriously failed!

As for her “popularity”… Well, let’s just say, her name will live here forever! The internet never forgets and the chance of her ever landing a job outside of that little town are now even slimmer considering almost every employer does internet research on applicants.

As for why daddy hasn’t come here, or has his friends come here? Perhaps he realizes that his daughter totally messed up this time and is drawing much unwanted attention to the town and all of the corruption and back alley dealings. Heck, if even 1/3 of what I read is true, the Feds will have a field day prosecuting everyone involved!

        • Factitious_Detector

From her crap behavior (as we’ve seen) she clearly thinks she’s above everyone and everything, as well as the law. She’s probably used to just ignoring it and having it “go away”, either because people are to SCARED to go after her, or because Daddy is always mopping up the mess.

Either way, it seems he got the daughter he deserved, because if he’s cleaning up after her, he’s just as guilty and dirty in all of this mess, and a garbage, unfit parent, hands down. Anyone who would ALLOW a child to act like this, let alone back them up? With corrupt pals of his too?

I’d be ASHAMED to get out of bed in the morning if this was my sorry, lazy, and entitled daughter, stomping around town, terrorizing locals, STEALING, and making up stories about good people to the corruptacops.

        • C Sab

Plus, they probably know that they can’t do shit here. What are they gonna do? Shoot us through the internet? HAH!

      • Celine (peaceetc)

What can they do? They’re small-town people with no reach outside of that. Everything that’s been laid out by Photo Stealers is factual, and the stuff on Bull Shizer’s blog is based on information they were given.

A lot of people in Ellwood City, PA, clearly do not like Danielle and Joel, and it sounds like they have very good reasons. I’d say it’s time for her daddy and the Wolves Club to pull their heads out of their backsides and realize this is bigger than them, and their petty little ways don’t fly out in the real world.

        • Jim Martin

I completely agree. There isn’t much they can do, but I suspect Danielle is still expecting daddy to fix this.

My hope is that the people of Ellwood City who have been screwed over will see this and get inspired to fight back.

        • xma1e

          There’s a world outside Ellwood City? 😉

          • Celine (peaceetc)

Yes, but I’m not sure certain people inside Ellwood City are aware of it. 🙂

    • xma1e

Why would she need to come here and defend herself when she already has “control” of her dirty little pond!

  • U Really That Dumb?

You realize that without verifying your account, people are likely to not believe a word you’re saying.
By verifying, your posts go through without a mod having to go in and do it manually.
As for your anonymity, nothing changes by verifying. It actually allows others to send you information through DISQUS without revealing any of your info. That way they can pass on vital & confidential information without it going public.

  • Jane Doe

I see her face book page getting stripped down more and more everyday so that is a plus, but that fn’ banner with the senior pic is STILL hanging proudly above that so called business and it really freaking irks me!

The article did get posted on a local Lawrence County breaking news facebook group with about 4k members so that is a plus. And I see the page has now over 600 shares. I hope with thus happening the right people start to see it.

    • You can’t fix stupid

      Can you post a link?

    • Factitious_Detector

There is a Ellwood City people only Facebook… is there anyone you know on there that would not be afraid to post the link? I’d join and do it, but I’m not from there, plus you need someone local to vouch for you. 😛

  • Christopher C.

    So this changed…

    • Helena

Hahahahahahaha! Evidently couldn’t carry on lying about that.

    • keca

Good. That’s the absolute LEAST that despicable woman should do.

    • Lol!

    • Celine (peaceetc)

Why do I get the feeling she won’t be working with the Chamber again?

    • Marc W.

And she also doesn’t list her Facebook page… obviously because she took it down.

      • Me, Myself and I

Or when it’s a”Pay for an Award” type of thing.

  • xma1e

Definitely understand why someone local wouldn’t want to post. My “mafia” joke turned out to be true.
It appears that town has no real law enforcement!

  • xma1e

Oh her website her gallery off shoots to a separate web server. Worth keeping an eye on it for the future.

Still listing themselves as a proud member of the PPA on the website. Any PPA members here reported Danielle yet? Can’t imagine she’ll be allowed to remain a member if the PPA is aware of all the illegalities.

Shoot, I was going to submit the BRE complaint, but couldn’t figure out from my PPA portal how to do it. Guess I’ll email the rep back! Non-PPA members can submit a BRE complaint as well apparently. (BRE is bylaws, rules, and ethics).

  • Roxie

I just looked up one of her bride victims’ Facebook profile, which is somewhat public so I can see her posts etc.

She had another post as well, saying to not use Treasured Memories. Someone there linked Dani’s Thumbtack page. Yikes! These are all horrible! http://www.thumbtack.com/pa/ellwood-city/photographers/photography

    • Celine (peaceetc)

Interesting screencap, Roxie. It’s pretty unfortunate the bride had to get the BBB involved before she was given her photos. I think it says a lot about the character of Danielle Morabito. At least the bride did get her photos in the end… I hope they were worth the aggravation.

No. It was swept under the town rug, like everything else she did. Many of the people who had came forward and spoke out against her (as well as the wolves club in general) are now dealing with some pretty nasty nonsense coming from above from what I’ve heard.

Ultimately, the only outcome is that more people are now aware of her bullshit. Which although it is a good thing, still means she has gotten away with everything. Like she always does.

The only thing that is going to change that town, is a serious federal investigation. The small town po-po isn’t going to follow the law, the local mafia is in control, and the people suffer for it.

Small town America is dying, and this is one of the reasons. It gets eaten alive from within, thanks to the greedy “old boys” and their need to protect corruption at all costs. Meth and heroin are going to eat this town alive, until no one is safe, and it’s just another rural ghetto.

Please, stop with the swept under the town rug bit. I am actually from this town, nothing was swept underneath the town rug. She is a nobody in this town and no one is willing to put their name or title on the line for her. I repeat, she is a nobody in this town and nothing has been “swept under” any rug. What you have here is the hype dying down. This blog made a sort of backyard rendition of “breaking news” for the town (albeit online), but the hype has died down. What do you want us to do to ensure some sort of favorable “outcome”? Chase her out of town with pitchforks and torches? Believe me, this blog and everything that came from it, had a significant impact on her business. The end.

      • Actually I like the pitchforks idea 😛

        • Marc W.

You take the photos and I’ll steal them and put my logo on them and post them. k.thx.bye

      • “……had a significant impact on her business.” Rightly so. When Danielle admits to her mistake, apologizes and makes restitution, then it might be “The End.” Unless she steals again. Of course the towns people can’t force her to do so, but I would drive across this country to watch the pitch forks and torches parade.

  • Michael

Um, just checked, and indeed, she is a PPA member. Her name comes up at the top of the page when searching the PPA web site for photographers in her zip code.

  • Biff

I drove by the business a few days ago and noticed that it was open and had customers. her actual work sucks, I’m not even sure how she retains business even after she actually delivers work to her clients. I’m not sure what to do. I’m just disgusted and sad.

    • Not much we can do about bad photography. As long as she stops stealing is all we care about. She might still do it in the future but we can assume she will be a lot more careful about it.

    • C Sab

These days, most people don’t care about image quality, they just want a good deal.

      • Biff

True. There are plenty of unskilled/untrained photographers who make a living on bad work who also don’t steal their work.

I guess I’m just generally pissed off that this person basically gets away with this stuff, with little or no consequences.
