Someone shared one of ARC Photography’s clients review of them with me and it perfectly exemplifies why I do what I do…. and also hate that I have to do it!
Kaitlyn hired Alexis of ARC Photography after she sent her a message asking if she’d found a photographer yet.
Alexis then sent over some examples of her recent work via messenger.
Per Kaitlyn’s post, this image was one of the images Alexis sent as an example of her work and a wedding she’d recently photographed.
Since they thought “her work” was, in her words, phenomenal, they went ahead and booked her. Alexis gave them a good rate since they knew each other and the package they chose came with a “free” engagement session.
They showed up in November to their engagement session to find that Alexis was still working with another group and assumed once she finished they’d start. Turns out that Alexis had double booked their time slot so in the end they only had about 10 minutes for photos. These photos eventually came back and were nothing like the quality or style of images that Alexis had shown to Kaitlyn as ‘her’ work.
Upon receiving the images, Kaitlyn panicked, especially since they had paid Alexis in full. Not willing to take a chance on their wedding photos, Kaitlyn hired another photographer for their wedding in addition to Alexis from ARC Photography Co.
The day of the wedding Alexis spent most of the day off to the side capturing images and allowed the other photographer to take the lead, even though technically they were both the lead. She was offered to get in and do her own posing/shots but declined. When leaving she promised the client that they’d have a preview the next morning. Nothing was ever sent.
It took over 6 weeks for the photos to be delivered and there were only 142 from a 6 hour day and none of them include the processional from the ceremony which only had 5 photos in total.
After this the client found out the images Alexis sent to them were stolen and they confronted Alexis who said it was an ‘accident’ that she included in from her Pinterest page. After some back and forth she agreed to refund the client but has yet to do so.
In the comments was another former client of ARC Photography Co.’s and they had Alexis cancel the morning of the wedding. She sent in a new photographer telling her she was doing the wedding for free when in actuality she had been paid $1300.
Given everything above, I decided to look into ARC Photography Co. to see what I could find.
While Alexis does have a Facebook Page for ARC Photography Co. it is barely used. She seems to prefer to use her own Facebook profile instead to advertise her business. I cannot find a website.
Shock of shocks… she has stolen images there promoting her photography.
There may be more but there’s so many memes shared I lost my patience scrolling.
