Many of these images were taken from a wedding blog that doesn’t allow watermarks.  Sigh.

I’m not even bothering with the stock images.

Update @ 11:30PM

I added a few of her aliases but it got ridiculous for the title.  Here are her known aliases:

Weddings of Distinction

RLS Studio
Dee’s Art
The Power of Secrets
Dream Weddings

I’m not adding URLS to her non-photography related pages but I am listing what other services she offers here (links in comments) because her net is cast far and wide.

Services offered:

Wedding blogs should allow watermarks for this very reason.

So what’s going to be the excuse this time? Inspiration? Placeholders? They had permission from all the photographers? All of them are stock? There are so many excuses to choose from! It’s just so exciting each time to see how they’ll play their illegal use of images.

    • Amanda Hunter

I noticed that the Facebook page was started on July 31, 2014… so I am placing my bet on the “I didn’t know it was wrong, I just started” or the “Those are just for inspiration” excuses.

      • peaceetc

Wow, you’re right. I hadn’t noticed the start date. She certainly racked up a bunch of wrong in just a few days.

      • Just a Girl

Unless shes been busted before and this is her re-start!

        • Amanda Hunter

very true. Either way, she’s gonna find out REAL quick how wrong she’s done. lol

        • Justin Case

could be, the studio she works out of had a wix website but it’s gone: https://www.groupon.com/biz/portland/studio-d

  • You can’t fix stupid

When are they going to learn! Bloody hell. I see most of the images have been removed already.

  • You can’t fix stupid
    • Photo Stealers

Yeah that’s a stock image. I’m feeling lazy so I didn’t even include those.

    • ALP

Basically everything that isn’t listed above is stock.

  • Justin Case

So, this looks like a makeup artist who is branching out into other fields?

  • cc

Wow – looking at her FB Wedding gallery – yikes…

  • Here we go again…

I guess it’s okay to steal from Canada. No one will notice, right?

  • Just a Girl

What the hell is a “Love Coach”?

    • Justin Case

Look it up for yourself: her other business http://www.lovesolutionsbydee.blogspot.com/

      • peaceetc

99% success rate? Impressive. I’m sure it’s totally legit.

        • Lindsay11

I DON’T WANT MY EX BACK AHHHH!!

          • Just a Girl

            No kidding!

          • You can’t fix stupid

there is a reason why he is your EX – nooo!

        • Lindsay11

Does she do nailberry jamsomethings too!?

ETA OK I looked it up and it’s jamberry nails. not nailberry jams. I am trademarking nailberry jams!

          • Photo Stealers

I just tried those. They failed. Epically.

          • Lindsay11

LOL yeah they didn’t look that awesome! I looked them up because Missy Mwac mentioned them last week or so. I will paint your nails with this awesome blue color I just painted mine with! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yUooJCKUWQI/UulVOadeOwI/AAAAAAAAC2o/e-LBUbDRaqI/s1600/nails-inc-sheraton-street-swatch-nails.jpg

            I love this blue <3<3 😀

          • Photo Stealers

            Ooo that’s pretty!

I love stripes so I got them b/c when I try to paint stripes I fail but my nails are too long, too rounded and also tips so it was a fail all around. Going to attempt on my toes though. May be easier.

          • Lindsay11

I don’t usually go for fancy stripes, but I’ve made some using blue painters tape and that worked fairly well.

      • Just a Girl

        She can’t be serious! HA

    • BullShite

Another person with a line of sketchy ass “businesses” all that have no overhead, and can be “closed” in the blink of an eye…… surprising!

    • ALP

I think that’s what you call yourself so you don’t get get charged with practicing without a license.

  • Justin Case
  • Here we go again…

Changing facebook images as we speak…

    • You can’t fix stupid

      But not with her image

      • Here we go again…

        Sigh…

  • Justin Case

OK, think I found out why she had to rebrand: http://www.yelp.com/biz/studio-d-portland

  • You can’t fix stupid

Damn she has blocked me from FB LOL and she removed all my comments.

  • Suz

Looks like she also has this page on FB, too. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dees-Art/766275700071153?ref=stream

    • You can’t fix stupid

ooh another page to comment on and they get blocked LOL Dee of Weddings of Distinction Portland you should never have stolen in the first place.

    • Here we go again…

      Ooh. Good find!

    • You can’t fix stupid

See how long that comment stays up for

  • You can’t fix stupid

Dee from Weddings of Distinction , stop blocking people just because they are telling the truth. You were caught stealing. Yes , you Dee of Weddings of Distinction Portland were caught stealing because you had shitty images and couldn’t make it.

  • Just a Girl

Her business name is VERY misleading. There is a NFP out of California that has a similar name and has had a Facebook presence since 2008 or so and has been in business since 1996.

    • Justin Case

Yes, be careful with this one. There is also a legit ‘Studio D’ photography as well as a ‘Studio D’ in Portland that is recording studio.

      • Just a Girl

Yeah… its probably a good idea to make sure to put the Portland in there.

  • Here we go again…
  • Holy FanPage rename — Batman! Its now “WOD-Portland”

    • peaceetc

      Yup. So very clever, that.

  • MPR1776

Says she only joined FB on July 31st….I left a message…

    • Fanpage is now gone …. classic I never saw that coming.

Empowering women by getting them drunk, sugar rushed, and chatted up to get them to take pictures in bad Halloween costumes. This video is 95% of a “how to date rape” instructional…

  • Here we go again…

You are better off sharing the stolen stuff on fb. She’s deleting comments.

    • Justin Case

She’s got a pretty wide and deep social media presence, under various names. She should own up before she tarnishes them all with this ugly brush.l

    • ALP

When is the part where she starts threatening us and making fake profiles and stuff? That’s the fun part.

      • Justin Case

well, the only one I can remember that was such an obvious ‘self-help/self-love/I-can-do-it-all/snake-oil salesman’ was Brett Baughmann. He NEVER admitted anything openly if I recall, but someone did get a letter from a $5 lawyer…

      • peaceetc

She’s been so busy deleting comments and changing her FB page name (and then taking it offline), she hasn’t had time. I bet it’s coming, though.

  • Here we go again…
    • Here we go again…

I think her meet up peeps need to know…

      • MPR1776

I did post and point them here on meetup.com

        • MPR1776

          Forgot my screenshot

    • MPR1776

I was snooping around over there some more, she actually charges people to go to her meetups

      • MPR1776

Ok, seems lots of people in Portland charge for meetings.

      • U Really That Dumb?

Some of the Photos on Meetup are stolen as well.

Tarot readings, too? This lady is just one-stop shopping.

      • I have a prediction HAHAHAH

        • Justin Case

…and I bet you didn’t even need your crystal ball. (seriously, that one did make me laugh, Joseph!)

      • BullShite

I was just thinking to myself, I am so shocked she isn’t doing tarot readings or claiming to be psychic…. SMH

    • Justin Case

DAMN! You beat me to it by 2 minutes! ALL stolen on http://www.portlandfashion.org/home.html

  • ALP

I FOUND THIS ONE! I am overly proud of myself for the investigoogling.

  • Here we go again…

She’s involved with PIMA Management too in Portland.

      She really spreads herself around.

    FB page gone?!?

    • ALP

      Yup

    • peaceetc

Want to place bets on how long she waits before she puts it back up? I’m guessing by Tuesday.

I must be 11-years-old, because I keep seeing Dee’s Art as Dee’s Nuts. Excuse me while I giggle like Beavis and Butthead.

        • You can’t fix stupid

          hahaha

  • Justin Case

On behalf of all us insomniac, pathetic, have-no-life cult members, I’d like to apologize to our illustrious leader. Put down that cocktail. Your job is not yet done, you have a TON of websites and aliases to add above.

    Sorry.

    • Photo Stealers

      Holy shit.

      • peaceetc

        Well said.

  • MPR1776
    • Justin Case

no, NICE catch! Be sure to get some screen shots of any stolen images, it’s all going down soon!

      • You can’t fix stupid

Dear god I hope none of those have been stolen because that would be very scary!

  • Just a Girl
    • Justin Case

that’s a familiar name. Just noticed that one myself.

    • Lindsay11

I’ve never seen a page with so few tabs open! :p

    • You can’t fix stupid

SHe is all over the place

    • Justin Case

Most of those look like hers, but there are also stock. Haven’t found anything definitely stolen yet.

  • Justin Case

    We also have http://www.thumbtack.com/reviews/services/GfWfO2tqRitnSw/write

but wait, no one has found a twitter or instagram yet? You can’t let me have all the fun…

  • Samuel Neff

I don’t think this has been mentioned yet. Her zenfolio dates back to 2012 in the web archives, so she’s been at this awhile most likely.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20120213040837/http://studiod.zenfolio.com/

    • You can’t fix stupid

This is a rebrand probably because of the bad reviews on Yelp

  • Here we go again…

    • Here we go again…
    • peaceetc

Goodness, that lady has been busy. I see it went well, too, with $0 raised. Another great find.

She mentioned in the description she’s been in photography for 15 years. You’d think she’d have a big enough portfolio after all that time that she wouldn’t need to pad it with stolen images and stock photos. But I’m just silly that way.

  • Here we go again…
    • peaceetc

It’s fascinating how many of these little enterprises she has. Really, it’s mind boggling.

  • U Really That Dumb?

PSA to Dee of WEDDINGS OF DISTINCTION AKA STUDIO D IN PORTLAND, OR, Dee’s aliases, Dee’s friends:
Do NOT flag comments that provide more proof of your theft. It not only does no good, as it’s the PS mods that review them, it makes you look even more guilty, and more of a fool. So in summary, STAY AWAY FROM THE FLAG!
    Carry On!

    • MPR1776

She deleted my comment on meetup too

      • U Really That Dumb?

        Awe!
Here’s a big virtual hug for you!

        • MPR1776

Thank you, I’ve consoled myself by emailing a link to this site to a few of the groups she belongs to on meetup.

          • U Really That Dumb?

Now go have some Vodka-Pop! ™

          • Just a Girl

Looks like shes involved in Organizing the first 3 in her group list.

    • peaceetc

Yeah, we don’t play that game, Dee or whomever. How about you put your efforts into doing the right thing, instead of trying to cover up your wrongdoings?

  • BullShite

I contacted about three or four local news agencies with the link to this site and some information on her. Hopefully one or MORE will take interest in this story, because this is TOO MUCH. It’s one thing to be a photo thief, it’s another to be a hardcore, tried and true scammer. If there is anything I hate more than a photo thief, it’s a photo thief AND scammer.

In the morning I will be contacting more, until I have emailed each and every newspaper, and local news station in the area. These people are a friggin’ pariah, and need to be exposed. I hope she is off running errands one day, and finds a camera and an eager reporter in her face asking her all about her BAIT AND SWITCH photography business, among other sketchiness.

    • ALP

Who did you contact? The Oregonian probably won’t care. But Willamette Week might.

      • BullShite

A couple of news stations starting with “K”…. I’d have to look up my “visited” links, and I think the Oregonian, I’ll do the WW today! I hope SOMEONE picks this up, considering all of the hard work has been DONE for them!

  • Photo Stealers

OK I updated with as many links as I could find that were relevant to her photography “business” holy CRAP that’s a lot of aliases.

    • peaceetc

I don’t see the updates… tried it in two browsers. Did it get stuck?

Thanks for all you do, as always.

      • Photo Stealers

I’m a night owl and have no kids. I fit this in where I would typically be reading instead 😉

        • peaceetc

I can see the list now. Good job parsing through all that stuff. 🙂

        • Just a Girl

They will find all the things. I don’t know how they do it, and am in awe of their Investigoogling skills.

      • BullShite

All it takes sometimes, is one little thing, one little thing that the perpetrator has forgotten, one mess they left behind, one toe print in the sand…. and it opens up a pandora’s box of information.

I just wish P.S. had an alert that would let you know when a new stealer went up, everyone is investigoogling everything before I get a chance!

        • peaceetc

On Facebook, go to the Photo Stealers page, hover your mouse over the ‘liked’ button (or click that little arrow to the right of the word), and a little box should come up. Click on ‘get notifications’ and Facebook will alert you every time Photo Stealers posts something new.

          • BullShite

I have THAT….. I just don’t have one of those fancy-ass hoity-toity iPhone thingys. I am clinging to my circa mid-2000’s cell that texts, makes calls, and takes shitty washed out images, and that’s it. 😉

      • Here we go again…

She needs to stick to this.

        • U Really That Dumb?

Why do you have to be a hater? Why do you have to be so mean to the furry community? What did they ever do to you to deserve her?
          🙂

          • Don’t you mean “We” instead of “they”? 😉

          • U Really That Dumb?

Shh or the monkey gets it!

          • Helena

            Hahahaha!

        • U Really That Dumb?

hahahaha! Actually, I have strep throat so no one wants to come near me for awhile!

        • ALP

            BLEAHAHAHHSHSHAHS….

          • BullShite

Yeah, you don’t want to google “furries” with the search filter off.

          • U Really That Dumb?

            This is what came up:

            🙂

  • ALP

She claims on one of her many, many pages that she picked up the secrets to photography by standing near some of the best photographers in the world. Can we add osmosis as a learning method to the bingo game?

    • U Really That Dumb?

No because it’s not an excuse for stealing… Unless she stole the ideas that way. That’s like a fan girl saying she’s a professional musician because she’s been sleeping with the band.

    • Wait …. There are secrets in photography!!!???
Get the F out of here.

    • Wait I got one… The Secert to photography is steal images from other professional photographers.

    • peaceetc

Does it count if I just follow some great photographers on Facebook and Google+, or is physical proximity required?

      • ALP

Only if you also make creepy and awful slideshows to music you haven’t licensed.

        • peaceetc

Dang, I only use royalty free music, and I use only my own images (which may well be creepy and awful, depending on your point of view). You’d think I would have picked up some tricks from all these photo stealers by now. I am hopeless.

          • ALP

I think the important thing is that you just keep trying. You never know when you might hut it big like all the people featured here …

          • peaceetc

I’ll keep plugging away. Why did my mother have to raise me to have a conscience?

          • ALP

Seriously … This is the third stealer I’ve seen pop up in Portland. Two have been outed. One stripped her site before she got caught. Its not a big market but the special snowflakes are strong here. So there’s a lot of this kind of shit, not just in photography.

          • peaceetc

I think they misunderstand the whole “Keep Portland Weird” motto thing. A guy in a kilt playing bagpipes on a flame-emitting unicycle — that is beautifully weird. What Dee and others have done… not so much.

          • ALP

Funny you should mention that. So, the unipiper wears a kilt made by stumptown kilts. Guess who has a video from St. Paddy’s Day in her YouTube channel of Stumptown’s booth and a plastic glass of beer that is not Guiness?Yep, Celebrity Photographer Dee. Its like kismet. And my husband thinks she’s shot some studio stuff fir Stumptown which would explain a lot about their photos.

          • peaceetc

Right, one of the pages someone posted had some photos she took for them. How… well, weird.

          • ALP

Stumptown had this collaborative artist space for about 6 months in NoPo but I don’t think they got the response they wanted so they moved again. We looked into the space a little and my husband approached them about doing photos for them but they were … douchey.

        • Justin Case

and can do 99% accurate tarot/love readings.

  • Here we go again…

Um… her address 818 SW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97204 is a UPS Store

    • Lol!

    • captain-confuzzled

It looks like there are apts above – she used an apt # there when she got a speeding ticket in April

      • Here we go again…

Looks like her snazzy office is a box.

        • Just a Girl

          hahaha!

          • captain-confuzzled

can be tough to fit a studio in one of those little boxes, but hey if you can learn by osmosis, I guess you can take miniature pics!

      • Justin Case

that’s the way it usually works with private mailboxes. I wonder if it’s still considered mail fraud if you run an illegitimate business from a private box?

    • MPR1776

Might have a mail box there.

    • ALP

Has to be a box. That’s am expensive part of town. Middle of the shopping district.

      • peaceetc

But there’s a Microsoft store across the street. I bet that keeps the rent down.

I kid! I’m a PC user! Still… I bet Apple store proximity is a selling point.

        • ALP

I think the apple store is still inside the mall across the street. And that building use to house my favorite shoe store.

          • peaceetc

Interesting. I see it’s just a few blocks from the Square, which would be nifty. You could go moon the KGW studio there, which I would totally do if I were not me. I might fangirl over Reggie and Steph, though. 😉

          • The apple store is now a temple to steve jobs that takes up the whole block with a glass front. They recently finished the new store and left the basement of the mall where they were.

          • ALP

I’d forgotten that they moved. My husband has me on Android/PC for almost everything so I haven’t needed any geniuses of late. Except you guys. I always need you guys.

          • Love google/android and my Nexus 4 but I also use Apple computers. Haven’t made it down to the place though I’m happy to know it exists because the old one was really bad.

          • ALP

I still love my desktop and frankly would hate to give it up but for tablets and mobile, I won’t ever go back to Apple.

          • exactly!

    • BullShite

That is SOOO not sketchy or anything….

  • captain-confuzzled

OMG, you guys are so fast at this stuff, I can’t even keep up with reading it. I can only imagine how much fun Dee is having trying to scramble to pull things down LOL

    • peaceetc

Judging by how many different pages people have dredged up, she has quite a job ahead of her. But I get the feeling she’s been there, done that, and will probably do it again.

      • captain-confuzzled

        ya think? bwhahahaha!

    • Helena

I tried in my half asleep haze to keep up last night, but it was impossible. I think most things were down before I could even look. 🙁

      • You can’t fix stupid

Don’t worry more will be found today.

        • Helena

Yeah but I have to go out when everyone else will be up investigoogling. 🙁

  • captain-confuzzled

I sort of doubt that Alexander Wang or Photographer Daniel Jackson would be amused (image) http://establishmentnewyork.com/work/page/2/

    • Here we go again…

Oh I hope they sue. That needs to go up top.

    • MPR1776
      • captain-confuzzled

        ooh, nice find!

    • Here we go again…

Where did you find that? I didn’t see it.

      • captain-confuzzled

found it on one of her FB pages https://www.facebook.com/DeeArtPDX – there is more stolen stuff there too

        • Here we go again…

Omg. I forgot about that page. There have been soooo many. Lol.

        • MPR1776

She changed that one too….tarot card reading anyone?

    • MPR1776

See we did leave something for you after all, you are welcome.

      • captain-confuzzled

awwwww thank you! *toasts Vodka popcorn*

    • peaceetc

How dare they steal from Dee five years ago through a clever use of time travel and hacking!

      • captain-confuzzled

*spits popcorn all over keyboard* lolol

  • Here we go again…

There is so much good stuff on that page too… Former editor and chief of DesignPortland… really.

  • MPR1776

This one stolen too from that page

    • MPR1776

      google search on above image

    • MPR1776

And that is linked to this site http://www.portlandfashion.org/home.html and she also owns the domain name for that magazine, I am getting dizzy now with all the different businesses

    • Here we go again…

Ha. Project Runway follows me on twitter. I should send Zac this. Lol.

  • MPR1776
    • MPR1776

Which leads to this: https://www.facebook.com/designportland?ref=hl Anyone have any Dramamine?

      • Guest

Which leads to more stolen images:

      • Guest

Don’t know why this didn’t show up

      • Here we go again…

Holy crap… this is insane. Someone stop the bus… I want to get off.

        • peaceetc

Can’t. Dee cut the brakes, the driver’s dead, and the windows and doors are sealed shut.

      • MPR1776

One last try…which leads to this stolen picture

  • captain-confuzzled

more, note posted just a few days ago with cropped watermark (image) – original photo: http://theo-graphics.com/blog/tilley-wedding/

    • Here we go again…

Yeah. Theo needs to see that.

    • peaceetc

As a photographer, it kind of kills me the way she chopped it up. It’s a much stronger image in the original crop.

  • Amber Kost

Photographer, Celebrity Makeup Artist/Stylist, with Oscar and Golden Globe winning movie credits. Her innate eye, uncanny ability to see what is the best asset to put forward to grab the attention of your audience.

So this is on her meetup intro page. Yeaaahhh…

    • MPR1776

Well, actually she wasn’t lying about that, she’s listed as makeup artist on About Schmidt on IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0257360/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ov_st_sm and shows about 10 credits for different movies/TV series here http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1917220/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cr17 though her last one was in 2005

      • BullShite

Even so, that in and of itself is not a big deal if you live in California.

Opportunities like this are a dime a dozen if you know how to look, and it’s not hard to meet or work with famous people, depending on what it is you do for a living, or who you work for. Everyone knows “someone” out there, especially if you stay long enough. She may really be a LEGIT make-up artist, but really for someone supposedly in a “career” doing this sort of thing…. this is a pretty small-ass, not overly impressive resume, and she hasn’t worked (apparently) for YEARS now.

Heck, even take the other name listed below as an unlisted, “additional” make-up artist, and you will see that SHE has more of a “real” resume than this chick does.

        http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1291342/

Whatever Dee is doing, has done, or is claiming to do in this industry, it’s pretty small potatoes, or highly (but not necessarily untrue) exaggerated in it’s importance and grandiosity.

The way she makes herself out to be in regards to this is not really a lie perse, it’s kind of a journalistic embellishment if that makes sense.

        • MPR1776

While I might agree with the exaggeration portion, I was merely pointing out that she had not been lying about the actual doing of said items. And let me just say that exaggeration and embellishment is par for the course in anyone’s resume, except for maybe Mother Theresa’s. Whether or not she was competent in what she did, I can’t answer. Nor can I comment on whether her participation in that industry is big or small potatoes as I have no knowledge of the inside workings of that industry.

      • Justin Case

…and if I read correctly, she is using very cleaver sentence structure: the MOVIES were nominated for Oscars and Golden Globes, NOT necessarily her makeup work on them. Not wrong, not EXACTLY misleading, just so specifically accurate that a quick reading makes you connect ‘Dee’ closely with ‘Oscar’ and ‘award winning.’

  • Amber Kost

    Haha wonder why?

  • Justin Case

A few examples of stolen work from her Zenfolio account:
(these will soon be locked down, but I doubt she will delete since she uses it to host client galleries)

    • Helena

I was just looking at the same gallery.

      • Justin Case

photographers have been notified. Two UK-based, so I should have let you have the honors.

        • Helena

No that’s fine. Hands full with both kids at the moment so would probably be barely coherent. 😀

          • Marc W.

That’s no excuse. [Says the who will have a baby at the end of next month.]

          • Helena

            Legally acquired I hope? 😛

          • Marc W.

We’re both consenting adults, so yeah.

Anything else personal you’d like to know? 🙂

          • Helena

LOL! I’m just glad someone else will share in my pain… I mean joy. 😀

      • Justin Case

basically, anything not taken with a Nikon D3000 is suspect. As Joseph likes to point out, you don’t go from shooting with a Canon 5D full-frame to a Nikon prosumer $300 camera.

        • Helena

Well not many people work backwards like that. You’d expect a progression from a Canon 400D to a 60D to a 5D over time but not mixing and matching between Nikon & Canon and different level cameras.

          • U Really That Dumb?

But, but, but… I shot an XSi last week. Does that mean I’m cheating on the 1DX and 5’s?

          • Helena

            Yes. *is totally judging you*

As penance for cheating on the 1Dx and 5Ds, you should give them to me!

          • Marc W.

I have a FF Nikon, but shoot medium format film cameras more. I’m a poser.

        • Well you do that only if you an idiot 😛

  • Ric New

I predict this stealing will break the record for most comments posted on Photo Stealers.

    • Helena

I don’t know… we’ve heard nothing from Dee or any sock puppets yet. That’s when it normally gets interesting.

      • Ric New

Just call it a gut feeling. With the number of alias uncovered so far, I just feel this is the tip of the iceberg.

        • Here we go again…

I was thinking there is probably a long list in California too… since she worked in Film and is a Golden Globe winner.

          • Just a Girl

I wonder if her Golden Globe was awarded to her like Aaron Haskins award was..

        • captain-confuzzled

Another area to look at is Phoenix, she was also there at one point.

          • U Really That Dumb?

Tell her to stay away from Phoenix!

      • Lindsay11

We know she’s watching since she’s flagging everything. Hi Dee! Stop stealing photos! http://www.getmyperks.com/deal/portland/studio-d-3-offers-march-2014

I’m not sure if we have her google+ https://plus.google.com/108584725992368228792/about

    • U Really That Dumb?

I highly doubt we will come anywhere close to the record. The professionals like this don’t want the attention so she’s not likely to engage. That’s typically how the body count climbs.

    • It’ll be hard to match Chris Jones comment count!

  • Lindsay11

Aaron Haskin isn’t the only one who uses Constant Contact http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs021/1101904950307/archive/1108282972796.html

    $50 for 6+ looks?!

    • Lindsay11

She’s run her own business for 20 years? I bet this friend of hers who shares creative space has no idea what’s going on. http://whatsunderyourkilt-me-i-am.blogspot.com/2013/04/freinds-of-stk-interview-with-dee-from.html

      • ALP

        Explains a lot about Stumptown’s photos. I wish I thought they’d care.

      • Here we go again…

Educated at CSUC as a photojournalist?? Yeah right.

        • Lindsay11

Really? I missed that, where did she say CSUC?

          • captain-confuzzled

it’s on the Linked in stuff, and I think she has it “liked” and referenced on at least one FB page, I haven’t looked again, but what I remember seeing is “major in Journalism”

          • Here we go again…

This article says she was trained as a photo journalist and personal facebook says CSUC.

          • Lindsay11

            Ah interesting, thanks!

          • ALP

I thought she learned photography from standing near world-renowned photographers.

          • Here we go again…
        • captain-confuzzled

Looks like there is one class in photo journalism in the Journalism major. sure, yeah, that makes you a photo journalist.

      • captain-confuzzled

from that interview “I don’t just think outside the box, I live outside the box” uh-huh you got that right babe.

        • Here we go again…

Remember she has to get outside the box since her office is a damn UPS mail box.

          • captain-confuzzled

            hahahahahaha good one!

      • ALP

She also claims to be a relationship expert and a travel agent and does tarot readings —maybe she learned all of them by osmosis — and whatever that woman empowerment thing was. (My husband and I tried really hard to figure out what that was. We kind of came up with nothing). I think we can assume that pretty much all of her claims are somewhere between sketchy and just this side of I’m A Magical Unicorn.

        • captain-confuzzled

she does a podcast on fixing your love problems. Most recent episode about a month ago. I didn’t find any tarot stuff either. I listened to the latest podcast as long as I could stand to listen. Just my opinion after listening, its no wonder she’s looking for more revenue in a new field (photography)

          • ALP

I don’t even remember which page had the tarot readings.

          • captain-confuzzled

I think it was one of the FB pages that had pretty current stuff on it. Weren’t the tarot readings like last weekend?

          • ALP

If she was any good, you’d think she would have seen this coming.

          • Justin Case

haha, nice. just got that one, ALP/

          • peaceetc

It’s this one (where she posted it right as the reading event was ending, it appears): https://www.facebook.com/DeeArtPDX

          • Here we go again…

Her personal facebook page.. Dee Elle

      • BullShite

This chick is SO NOT a journalist/editor NO WAY. Maybe she awarded herself that title if it was through one of her “business” ventures, but there is NO WAY a legit journalist…. let alone EDITOR would allow such a poorly dictated/written/edited “interview” like this out in the open. NO WAY.

My spouse is the above and I can’t even get a simple text message that is not followed by an edit for something.

No friggin WAY. No, nope, nada, nein.

    • Actually it’s 150$ for :

      Photo Shoot
      3+ Looks
      —3 Digital Images (edited)
      —Hair and Makeup Services
      —Styling Services
      Portfolio Consultation
      Resume Review

It’s 75$ deposit and 75$ balance on day of shoot.

The 50$ for 6+ looks is for stylists wanting shots for their portfolio.

  • MPR1776

Update on the meetup.com msgs I sent yesterday, two of the three have apparently removed her from their membership as I no longer these listed on her groups, Eastside – I Take The Lead Referral Groups and Women Learning Photography Together. I did see Oregon Professional Photographers Group listed so I contacted them today with a link to this site.

    • Here we go again…

Did anyone Contact Theo Civitello yet regarding his image?

      • MPR1776

        I have not done so.

        • Here we go again…

Ok. I’ll dm him on twitter.

      • Thanks very much for the heads up, everyone. I appreciate it!

    • She thought deleting and ignoring was the answer LOL

  • V323

Dammmmn, this is a LONG list of aliases & specialties. Is Dee an analrapist as well? She seems to be good at blending trades.

    • captain-confuzzled

not thrilled with your choice of words there…just sayin’

      • V323

It’s a joke from Arrested Development. Tobias was a psychiatrist & therapist, and shortened his title to combine the two.

        • Justin Case

glad you clarified that. I’m kinda thick skinned, but you still made me pause.

          • V323

That you read it as “anal rapist” was the entire joke on the show, as Tobias pronounced is “a-nal-ra-pist” (no long a’s) and didn’t understand why every one was offended by his card. I’m now laughing at all the inappropriate comments that were Tobias Funke’s way.

          • BullShite

I guess this is why no one gets my joke about how Brett looks like G.O.B.

          • V323

            Come ON!

    • Lindsay11

HAHA! OK, I wonder if it would have helped if I had been awake enough to post a joke about ANUSTART license plates or if everyone would have been mad at me too!
(For the AD unwatchers: It’s A NU START only no one reads it that way.)

  • MPR1776

Did some of my comments disappear? Or have things just switched around?

    • peaceetc

Are you still sorted by ‘newest’? The sorting drop down box is at the top of the comments, just above where it says ‘join the discussion.

      • MPR1776

Yes, was too weird, gremlins in the computer I guess. Reloaded page 3 times, now looks as it should

        • U Really That Dumb?

          Actually someone flagged them.

          • MPR1776

This is one that went missing, wonder why it was flagged? I just didn’t see any point in ripping her for actual accomplishments, not like she hasn’t done enough by stealing other people’s accomplishments to warrant the rest of the postings. And my pics not showing up either, did it last night too, then I got a bunch of the same posts where I was trying to repost the image.

          • U Really That Dumb?

            There were three.

          • MPR1776

Don’t remember which others went missing, I’m easy going, if I offended someone sorry, if I offended Dee, too bad, if you don’t want me to post, just say so. Am a big girl, can take it.

          • U Really That Dumb?

            Likely her so don’t stress.

          • peaceetc

I didn’t think to check that. I’m not awake.

    • BullShite

It might be Disqus, I am seeing posts that were way below on the top now, and it’s set to “newest”. It can be really screwy at times.

    • Justin Case

click on your name above: you will see a pop-up window with all your disqus comments listed in the order you made them. I am guessing they are all still there.

      • U Really That Dumb?

They were flagged. They should all be back now.

  • Justin Case

Our girl Dee really gets around; Austin, Australia, Finland. More stolen images, more photographers to notify:

    • MPR1776

      Good job, Justin!

    • captain-confuzzled

      Great investigoogling!

    • Here we go again…

Justin. I can’t believe her activities are limited only to Oregon. Did you find anything from when she worked in the film industry? Or is that too old?

      • Justin Case

I’m kind of stuck in things related to the photography business.
According to one of the ‘whois’ searches I’ve done, she may have up to 33 domains registered, so there could be plenty more out there.

        • BullShite

I just don’t understand how all….. or any of this can truly be profitable. How does she live?

          • Justin Case

Now I think you’ve actually gotten to the heart of it. Once you start down this road, there is no turning back.

It starts with exaggertion (20-years in the business, worked with the best, award-winning) moves into promises that can’t be met (photo ‘examples’ that can’t be repeated, high quality at a loss) and soon moves into outright fraud (99% success rate!).

What do you do then? Can’t just walk away, so you double-down: more websites, more businesses, and an even deeper hole that gets harder to fill.

I feel a bit sorry for Dee at this point. She absolutely can not cut it as a professional judging from the reviews and her own work that I have seen. She can’t shut everything down and just walk away.

I predict more denial, disappearing websites and more name changing. The photo-business equivalent of whac-a-mole.

          • BullShite

One of these days she is going to burn her last bridges with this bullshite, and her options for survival are going to be slim. I hope beyond hope that one day she scams the WRONG PERSON, and finds herself in jail, or with a big fat lawsuit slapped on her.

She might wind up with a significant other that helps to bear the financial burden, but she will still have a lifetime of lies connected to her name that will never go away…. lots of things to explain to him/her, friends, family, kids, etc. Maybe that is a form of justice, but I always hate how there are never enough laws to protect the innocent from these evil people.

I always feel like deep down though, most of these people WANT to be someone. But when they find out it either takes a lot of time, effort, money and work, or when they put a little into it and realize they are not immediately rewarded with money, or approval, or fame, or see tons of people that are way better than they are, they get angry, discouraged, and lie and cheat to get the immediate gratification of, in their eyes at least being “someone”.

Sometimes it branches off into fake personalities, like Aeries, other times it’s the deepest forms of flashy denial, like Brett.

I am still amazed, after years of studying scams, and the time spent on photostealers, how these people not only manage to get by for so long, but how almost ALL of them have the same pathology. It just repeats itself over and over again.

It’s all so bizzarre and fascinating.

          • MPR1776

Here’s the thing about that, BS, it’s a mental disorder, I was married to one of these types and it’s fairly simple, they lie pathologically, but the thing is, to them the lie always becomes the truth. They absolutely, positively believe everything they’ve said is true and they can’t understand why everyone is saying they are doing bad things.

          • BullShite

I am kind of surprised that factitious disorder hasn’t been expanded to include people like this, or catfish. The symptoms and causes and intent are very similar, the only difference being that one is faking illness (etc) for attention.

          • MPR1776

Well my ex, after I’d filed for divorce, told me that he had multiple personalities for the whole time we’d been married, which was over 20 yrs, and that he’d integrated them himself in 30 days, but two months later they popped back out cause they didn’t like it in there. So I think that qualifies, yes? And we don’t know if Dee has some disorder she likes to talk about to her intimates.

  • Robert Petersen

People thank you! Sometimes nothing great can be done without enthusiasm. This can be done with an image associated with a product. And we can all be deceived and have been deceived by many commercials. Promises never kept. When the ego or narcissism is greater than the ability to produce something outstanding for the community they are full of sh** or fake. I’m surprised of how long it’s taken us to wake up to deception as a culture. But here in this community it’s obviously not tolerated. There was a moment, without much investigation, I thought it would be a strong interest in this community to produce a magazine that was about the community. It was inspired when Dee asked me if I had any strong ideas. A footprint was created and it didn’t take long for people to recognize the fraud that Dee created in it. The website was not part of the people associated with this. I have the authority at this point to shut down one of her projects, DesignPortland. Now I’m saying this not because I don’t want to dismantle her business principles, which I don’t approve of at this point, but more so I can see in 330 comments a direction that this community wants to support and I absolutely believe it’s virtuously based in a productive and honest way.

    • peaceetc

Thank you for commenting, Robert. I’m sorry you and others were taken in by her less than honest ways. I hope there will be no lasting problems for you and the others involved.

    • BullShite

No one here blames those that get sucked in by these frauds. These people only survive for so long because they are GOOD at one thing: being LIARS. You aren’t the only one, and you won’t be the last, because these people are HARD to stop for good.

I hope whatever it is you do from here, it is successful, and becomes what you wished it to be.

      • Marc W.

It’s scary, though, when it’s their spouse that gets suckers into the lies!

        • BullShite

Lisa Marie from…Flickers? Photography, had her wife totally in the dark, other than that I think everyother significant other has done nothing but make excuses/lies/rationalizations about the behavior. At least publicly.

          • Marc W.

Not sure we know of all of them. Some of the stealers that quickly disappear could have been living a lie at home too.

          • BullShite

^Meant any of them that have “appeared”. Out of all of them I seriously think Lisa Marie’s wife was the only one that didn’t make excuses.

    • Justin Case

One of the worst things about people who start SO many companies and spread their poor business practices around so freely is how many people they manage to drag into it with them. The purpose here is NOT to slander and drag people down, it is to show that we simply don’t approve of this behavior and all the lies that come with it.

  • peaceetc

Dee, stop flagging comments, unless you are into wasting your own time. As you can see below, people are finding out about your lies, and they are not happy.

You started this by stealing others’ images, which is copyright infringement and is illegal under US law. You can be sued for thousands of dollars for each photo used without permission. You are in the wrong here, so stop trying to cover it up. That is literally the only thing you can do to help yourself right now. More lies, cover ups, denials, etc., will only make it worse.

If you would have just done the right thing in the first place, none of this would have happened.

I don’t have patience for people who lie and deceive others. I don’t have patience for those who take the work of others and try to pass it off as their own. I don’t have patience for you, Dee. Get over yourself and grow up.

    • Justin Case

yep. That’s what got me started on this. Until I read those, I thought we just had another inexperienced wannabe who was breaking into the wedding field on the back of other peoples’ hard work. Once I saw those reviews, I realized that this had been going on since long before she started that recent facebook account.

She must be pretty successful at marketing, as her zenfolio account seems to have plenty of jobs that she did actually book and shoot, judging by the quality. But who takes 4-7 WEEKS to deliver proofs from a boudoir session? And no matter what your excuse/explanation may be, no one should still be in a service business when they have so many legitimately disappointed clients.

      • Helena

I was shocked to see someone argue with almost every client in the reviews too. No hint of responsibility for their dissatisfaction.

        • Justin Case

It just reeks of professionalism and good ‘biz skilz.’ Mostly just makes her look like an angry child, and to what end? Anyone who actually gets past the single star isn’t going to want to do business with someone who has to constantly justify why her clients are so unhappy.

          • Helena

If you have to argue that hard to justify your crappy service you should probably just accept that you’re a crappy person too.

      • The thing with the Yelp Reviews, they mention Groupon for most of them.
So booking a but load of shoot at a major loss isn’t much of an accomplishment.

Some of the deals on Groupon for photography are completely STUPID!
        https://www.groupon.com/deals/nebcat-photography-1

150$ shoot (already low balled) offered at 38$ and Groupon keeps 50% so 19$.

        A 2 hour shoot for 19$?

Each shoot is 2 hours, so about 6 hours total.

        19$ / 6 hours = 3.16$ / hour.

The add I used here as an example is looking to sell 50 of those!

That’s like 300 hours or about 8 weeks worth of work at LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE and I haven’t even put in hard costs and business costs in there!

  • BullShite

I apologize if this has been posted already, but I can’t tell. I may have found a few other scammy things she’s been involved in in the area…. I could be wrong, but it looks like she worked for PIMA, this sketchy “model/actor agency” in Portland, as her name appears on tons of headshots of “Models”. It also ties her to something called L’Eschelon, that I can’t find any information on, but it appears to be some other scammy “model/actor” thing.

  • Christopher C.

It hasn’t really been mentioned outside of the IMDB link, but this person’s actual real name is Danielle Cunningham out of Portland Oregon. RLS Studio has a few addresses, but the telephone number for all of her photography (and other) endeavors seems to always be (503) 575-9373.

Both Studio D and RLS are registered as being at 818 SW 3rd Ave #91; Portland, OR 97204. It seems the former address was 8th and Harrison; Portland, OR 97214. RLS apparently stands for “Real Life Solutions.”

Looking forward to this comment being flagged.

    • peaceetc

Interesting. It’s also interesting that the phone number comes up as a bookstore a few miles away from where she lives (as others have pointed out). I didn’t do a very thorough search, but I can find almost nothing about that bookstore, except where its phone number is listed on various phone # places.

The street view of the building shows Gal-Pled (the alleged bookstore), and the windows have words on them — “one stop emporium” “great bargains” “great shoes” and “furnishings”… and “Love” I think. There’s a shoe store next door, and the sandwich board sign for that shoe store sits in front of the “bookstore.”

      • ALP

It’s funny that the alleged bookstore is across the street from Yuen Lui, which used to be one of the best photo studios in Portland, well, 30 years ago. I have the urge to drive past these places this weekend to see if there is anything to see.

        • peaceetc

It might not be a bad idea. The street view photos are from 2011, so things could have changed since then.

          • ALP

Maybe I’ll lure my husband downtown with the promise of food carts and cupcakes.

          • U Really That Dumb?

            1) if says no, he’s stupid
            2) if he says no, I’m game! Granted it would mean a flight, but hey, it gets me out of this furnace!

          • ALP

The only reason he would say no is because he hates downtown more than I do. We are Southeast People. And he may be stuck at home sewing mariachi buttons on a kilt that has to be shipped in time to make it to burning man.

Where is said furnace? The cupcakes from Saint Cupcake would be worth the flight. Just for the love of god, please don’t mention VooDoo.

          • BullShite

It seems a little too coincidental, that if the book store still exists, that she has the same number as it without there being some sort of a connection somehow. Like perhaps it is owned by a family member or significant other, or co-owned by her (because at this point, why not?).

          • What’s wrong with your womanly powers lol

          • ALP

Knowing that cupcakes work better is part of my womanly powers. Plus I like cupcakes.

          • Here we go again…

            Too funny.

          • Justin Case

You should also pass by L’Eschelon Models Central scam school, she seems to have a convoluted connection with them. Just ask for David St John 5331 Sw Macadam Ave #258-204 Portland, OR 97239 (or they may have moved to 700 SW 5th Ave 3rd Fl, Portland, Oregon 97204)

Keep your hand on your wallet, and leave your check book at home, if the Model Mayhem and RipOff Report are anything to judge by.

      • peaceetc

I love to talk to myself, so here we go again — I took a little history tour via archived street views from 2007 through 2011. The “bookstore” part was definitely part of the shoe store next door in 2009 (the 2007 view is too fuzzy to see). The “Gal-Pled” part on the sign above the door (which really looks like it said “Gai-Pied” which was apparently once a French gay magazine, according to Google) has faded a lot since then, too. The words on the windows were added between 2009 and 2011, as it used to have something about the shoe store in the window. And it doesn’t say “love” it says “lovely” as in “lovely furnishings.”

Thus concludes our trip in useless knowledge of a random building in Portland.

    • peaceetc

I looked at the street view some more, and I think the shoes store occupies both sides of the building, and that bookstore doesn’t exist anymore.

    • Here we go again…

She also has an address on 9th.

    • Here we go again…

just to add to the data: currently (as we know) using “Dee Cunningham”, and in the past at some point used “Dani Cunningham”

        • BullShite

This might be totally innocuous but in a customer complaint, apparently she switched studio locations in January 2013.

      • ALP

You know what amazes me? That these businesses are registered.

        • Here we go again…

No sign of a registration for Weddings of Distinction. Studio D is closed. And what the hell does the Goddess Foundation do? Boudoir? Tarot?

          • ALP

Goddess Foundation I think was the “business” behind the creepy Go Fund Me, which I think was to provide a space to get women drunk and take photos with their clothes off. I’m not sure how that’s a business model, but since she raised $0, I guess we don’t have to worry about it.

          • Here we go again…

            Lol.

You know, I can’t even find a legit listing for the bookstore (Gal-Pled), which is weird, because even if it is no longer a business it should still be listed. I was hoping to find a connection between who owned that name and Dee. Unless I am just not looking hard enough.

That’s funny… I wonder if they knew about the French gay magazine? 🙂

          • Here we go again…

“Gay foot” It was a gay bookstore. You can find them with listings as “gay friendly”

          • peaceetc

Huh. Ain’t nothing wrong with that, but why “foot”? Did something get lost in the translation, or am I just out of the loop on French gay culture?

          • Here we go again…

I was wondering if it was a shoe store that rents books. 🙂

          • peaceetc

Do gay people have special shoes? If so, I’ve been doing it wrong all these years.

          • Here we go again…

I was more surprised that it was listed as “book rentals” – isn’t that called a library?

          • peaceetc

One would think. I wonder how that place ties into this whole thing. Maybe she got their old number?

          • Here we go again…

I’d think so. I read that they were open for 19 years but recent listings show a different number. Or maybe she worked there.

          • BullShite

19 years ago, it wasn’t ok to be gay/trans. So this bookstore probably served as way more than that, which would explain how a place that “rented out books” could last all the way up until 2005. The internet was small, cell phones were not common, and people often relied on places like this to meet, have communal support, be openly “out”, etc. I’m sure there was much more to it than “bookstore”.

Maybe it’s coincidental, and the phone company just recycled the number, but it does seem awfully strange that the business would just change the number so far down the line, and she would wind up with it. Just another mystery in this bizzarre case.

          • Wes Jones

Maybe a book store that rents shoes? That would be awesome! I’ve always wanted to try a pair of Louboutins. By the way, check out the Louboutin web site, it is pretty cool. http://us.christianlouboutin.com/

Derivative works are also all right based on this.

Not just her website for Studio D, zenfolio for RLS is showing diff pics in the intro slideshow, first FB page on the list is gone Dee Art shows up with a blank avatar and blank cover, the Dee Elle page has been changed just like the Dee Art page

      • Here we go again…

The Dee’s Art page says that fb forced her to convert to a page and she lost 5 years of photos. I guess that is why she had to STEAL them. Lol.

        • Penmar

Geesh, some people think everyone else is just too plain stupid to know anything about FB, the internet or anything else.

        • You would think that a pro photographer wouldn;t be using FB for image archiving.

        • peaceetc

So she was clearly violating Facebook’s terms of service by using a personal profile as a business page. Is she saying she didn’t have five years of photos backed up elsewhere? Who on earth would rely on Facebook as an archive? They compress the heck out of images, resize them, and generally mess them up. If she did that, she’s a bigger idiot than I thought.

        • doncalifornia

There is no way she had five years worth of professional grade photography, which was all hers, on that page to lose.

        • Justin Case

that one caught my attention a few days ago but kinda led nowhere. Sounded EXACTLY like the kind of excuse we hear all the time when some one gets caught and needs a good excuse to explain to friends why they had to remove all the stolen work they had been showing.

        • You don’t lose photos when you convert ..

What day in December did she die? That might help narrow down the obituary date.

  • Factitious_Detector

I didn’t notice that you posted her death date…. Dec 9th…..

Dee is not dead. Either that or she is accepting friend requests from people beyond the grave, as she became “friends” with three people Dec 11th.

    FAIL.

    • Man that is a new low … Fake deathe to get the post removed lol!

    • Helena

7 Brians, and 2 Roberts, and NOT ONE made reference to her death on Facebook. Ouch.

    • Jim Martin

I’m impressed. Guess Dee was inspired by Teresa’s fake suicide and decide to take it one step further and create a fake obituary. I should have dug a bit deeper.. nice catch Factitious_Detector.

    • Christopher C.

A new friend as of today. (I know this info can easily be found, but I blurred it because they probably don’t have anything to do with this person.)

  • Helena

Unfortunately, what Dee did is her own fault, and if she didn’t want her children reading about this stuff, then stealing other people’s work was probably not the best thing to do in the first place.

  • Brian
    • Brian I call bullshit. You know why? I also googled her full and partial name and “stopstealingphotos” never comes up as a entry. In the post what was mention were her alias we never knew her full legal name … well until now. Her full legal name “Danielle Elizabeth Cunningham”

      • Factitious_Detector

I tried several times even under proxy browsers with her name, her full name, where she lived… I got a 91 year old woman, and a whole bunch of crap about “16 and Pregnant”. I went through four pages, NOTHING on PS.

    • Brian, (or who ever you are) I will worn you once. If this is fake we will find out .. I will never trust information from such a website unless it comes from official obituaries of the state/contry.

    • U Really That Dumb?

That is a TRIBUTE and NOT an obituary! BIG BIG difference!
Find us the official LEGAL obituary and we might start believing what you are dishing out.

    • Christopher C.

“Family is encouraged to provide an obituary or information that allows for an obituary to be written by our staff.”

      I encourage this as well.

  • robert

Brian and everyone else , i started this compelled to find out myself if this was true , for one Dee and i saw things in a different light and all the information on here was certainly a eye opener ,when the two of us decided to work together , i noticed immediately the images used to promote this business and the web page contained false stolen and certainly images she never took but used so i close the web site ,and the idea of working together and moved on , and so did our relationship, but i can say her practices still continue to haunt me , one she owed money for studio , second her landlord came by hoping to gather as much information to evict her from her location and once again i saw her dealings and texts with him to be no better than her reputation allowed , i am writing this because i got a email from “bull Shite” asking me for more info and bring my attention to what i got started here by posting she passed away , i based this on the local information provided by Facebook friends and others who may just be helping her promoting a false image to be done with her debts and start a new life under a different name , So Brian come clean , are you covering up for her? Were was her funeral ? you said you are family right ? i am afraid that some how this could be a scam on her part , have you heard any thing about a funeral? because i have not with any local person in this town were she lives or lived?? Can some one search the Portland courts records about her evection? i know it was about the same time of her “death” she was to be in court , maybe she went? Please lets keep our options about moral rightness out of this until , one it is possible she passed away, possible but i have not found any information about a wake a funeral or any gathering , and also keep in mind she may not of passed away and this could be the scam of all time and once again it can be uncovered , so i hope the truth as always will open up

    • Its sad when someone has to fake their own death.

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

      • 12345

.. you have proof of faked death? Are you the fucking internet police??

you seem to be one these morons that feel you NEVER have to provide proof for any of the crap that comes outta your pie hole. Yet… EVERYONE has to answer to YOU.

Oh.. not a Dee supporter ( don’t have a fucking clue about this stealer ), I just have a hate on for internet tough guys. Why don’t you finish up your WOW raid in mommy’s basement, then maybe you can say you’ve actually achieved something on the internetz

        • Unlike you we know stealers LOVE to lie and we do not give anyone the benefit of the doubt. So yes in this instant i am the “the internet police” and will say Dee is alive and will playing her games.
Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

        • Crap I forget you are a troll.

        • Helena

I don’t think asking one of Dee’s “supporters” for a link to the obituary is unreasonable. No one else descended into petty insults and made themself look like a twat either.

        • Michael Goolsby

“Proof of a faked death” isn’t necessary. It’s not our job to prove a negative. Rather, since we’re dealing with a known huckster, it’s more or less our imperative to doubt until “proof positive” is shown. It hasn’t. Rather, we’ve only got a claim from an unverified poster and “family friend”… hardly credible, I’d say.

It may certainly turn out to be true. But we’d be fools to believe it at this point, given the circumstances. Rest assured, however, that when convincing proof is found, I’ll be among the first to acknowledge it.

    • Just a Girl

I wonder what kind of soul a person would have to have to go to friends and family and pretty much say ” I need to fake my death… play along ok?! Thanks” On second thought… I don’t need to wonder… in life she was a thief. Its one hell of a legacy…

  • To all of you that think she is dead for the past few days see has been accepting friend request from BEYOND THE GRAVE (always wanted to say that) last acceptance is 8 hours ago today… so ummm yea

    • Helena

But but but, she died nearly a month ago!

  • Michael Goolsby

So, let me get this straight…. a photostealer with numerous aliases, a pending court appearance, and ongoing and unresolved image theft has a “family friend” who, upon happening across this site during a search for a name that doesn’t actually bring up this site, is helpful enough to come here and basically say “she died, so you can stop keeping up with her”. Meanwhile, there’s no public obituary, no comments about her death on her Facebook page, and, miraculously, her page is still accepting friends.

And we’re expected to believe that baloney?

  • barque

I checked the facebook page of someone who left a message at the funeral site, and from her posts and conversations with old friends it looks like Danielle died Dec 9 of natural causes at the age of 47. It is not uncommon for a family member or close friend to continue accepting friend requests on someone’s facebook after they pass. It’s a place for people to leave messages, I’ve seen this with old friends of mine who have left us.

    • No that is not uncommon …but what common is that friend or relitive with acces to said account to post that she has passed away. That would be the normal decent thing to do … After all making a wall post is as easy as log in to said account and andrandomly accepting friend requests for a dead person simce before and after december 9th.
      Again I call bull shit.

      • barque

Also, I was wondering, on facebook, it could post that you have “become friends with” someone who has accepted your friend request, even one you sent a long time ago, right? It could be that Dee’s account hasn’t been accepting friend requests, but those new friends accepted old requests from Dee?

        • Factitious_Detector

I would completely buy this… if it was one friend. However it was three. COULD it possibly be that all three accepted her old requests that long after she died on the SAME DAY? SURE. Is it likely? Nope.

Now if there was an obituary, and memorial services at a legitimate funeral home, and the people mourning her was an out pouring of friends and family, AND she became friends with three people from beyond the grave, I could buy that. But not with the current evidence. Sorry nope.

          • barque

But Crown Memorial is a legitimate cremation service, and they post to their own tribute page. It doesn’t look like a fake listing. http://www.anewtradition.com/obituaries/listallobituaries.php?start=80

          • Photo Stealers

This whole situation is bizarre. It could be true. It could be fake. It’s sad that there’s been so much crazy with Photo Stealers in the past that I’m doubtful of this.

          • That the sad thing because of so many liars in the past its hard to believe anything without fact checking first.
Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

    • Christopher C.

“It is not uncommon for a family member or close friend to continue
accepting friend requests on someone’s facebook after they pass.”

Considering Facebook account passwords (usually) die with their owners, this would be a neat trick. I’ve never seen people accept friend requests on behalf of a dead person, even with people I’ve known personally that have died.

If this IS a hoax, anyone who “left a message at the funeral site” would obviously in on it. You can’t trust anything they’ve posted to Facebook any more than anything posted to the funeral site.

    • Christopher C.

As an aside, 47 is a little too young to die from “natural causes.”

      • ALP

Frequently in obits (now that they are mostly written by the family and paid for rather than by newsroom staff) “natural causes” is often shorthand for a disease that the family doesn’t want disclosed. I haven’t been able to find an obit for her in Portland and we didn’t get one the the paper I work for in the suburbs.

  • U Really That Dumb?

They most certainly would post a memorial. It drives traffic to their page. Then when someone else is looking for their services they say “Oh, do you remember Aunt Dee used ________” when in reality she didn’t.

  • Melinda Potter

I have no proof one way or the other as far as Dani, Elle, Dee, Danielle’s death, but what really has me baffled is how she could be in two places at once. Am I just having a difficult time with the timeline here? We have active pages/sites for her art/photography in Portland and we have active pages in SA Texas that both promote her services. Example: this blog post http://www.hotspotjunkie.com/#!Sunday-Brunch/cmbz/5231DFEC-66E3-4926-B53C-4CD439B23A12
On a site that promotes The One Beauty Lounge in Texas Dated Oct 2014 (other newer posts as well, but this one makes an obvious Texas reference)
And then we have photography pages in Portland promoting both her photography and makeup services that post about local Portland interests https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dees-Art/766275700071153?sk=timeline&ref=page_internal dated just days apart from each other. Yes, I am aware of modern day air travel, but… It just doesn’t add up. And this is only one example of many.

Oops, sorry whoever you are that posted about putting this to rest and actually got us all curious and looking again. That idea kind of backfired a bit Id say. Especially since none of us here ever knew her legal name and only used her numerous aliases to comment up until now.

    • strange situation

So the Danielle Cunningham you linked to in TX is not the same Danielle/Dee. Dee in Portland does not have children, and I notice this woman mentions a son in her post. Also the photo of the Texas Danielle in her bio isn’t Dee. You can see an old photo of Dee on her site http://www.thepowerofsecrets.com/ under Film & TV (sorry I can’t link directly, the site is a mess). She is on the left in the photo. This is an old shot and she is much heavier these days.

As someone who knew (knows?) Dee in real life.. I am bothered that I cannot find an official obituary, nor could I find out about services despite searching everywhere and calling the funeral home directly. It’s a very weird situation. If true I am sad for her family.

      • Yea you notice that too and you know/knew her .. Shame

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

      • Marc W.

If you learn anything, will you let us know?

      • Melinda Potter

It’s all very confusing. I may investigate further if I get some time to work at the computer in the near future. If I remember right the two Danielles were connected by a bio out there somewhere and some links. But, I very well could have just found another makeup artist with the same name. It’s difficult because you also have to dig through the whole teen Mom thing. I honestly hope it IS just a hoax, and that I was completely wrong about these two online identities being connected. The whole thing is just so sad and unfortunate.

        • U Really That Dumb?

There are too many similarities between multiple aliases to be a coincidence.

        • strange situation

I looked closer at the Texas Danielle and these are definitely not the same person. No similarities with anything I knew about Dee and no photos even close to her appearance. Dee lived/worked in California, Washington, Nebraska and Oregon but never mentioned living or working in Texas at any point. So I see no connection here besides the same name- I would rule this one out.

          • Paul G.

You mentioned before that you knew/know her in real life? Is there someone you can get in contact with that could provide a more definitive answer on just what’s going on?

  • Just a Girl

If this is fake this is an all time PS one hit wonder….. cause there is the :Rebrand: and then there is THIS….. the :OH MY GOD… Rebrand of all holy rebrands: Yeah, I’m skeptical… and I’m probably STILL going to hell! LOL

  • Paul G.

I’m going to have to throw in with the skeptics on this one. There’s a lot that just doesn’t add up. My biggest question though is why? Unless I’m mistaken the last post on here before the death business was several months ago. We weren’t even the ones who brought this up, so was this just a preemptive strike to cover up an upcoming rebranding? A late effort to maybe get the page down? The original post didn’t even seem to try and do that though unless I missed something. Is it part of some bigger scam?

    • Factitious_Detector

There IS a CHANCE that “Brian” IS legitimately someone who heard of Dee’s “death”, and instead of “finding’ this page like “he” said “he” did, (remember, he was apparently looking for her obituary too) knew about it already, and wanted to come in here thinking to get the page removed. (In the most abrasive, confrontational way possible, that is.) There is a CHANCE that “Brian” legitimately believes she is dead. I am leaning toward she’s not for more reasons than I can put here now, but again, the chance remains she might be.

From what the investigation has been turning up, most people that know seem to have been informed by someone who they do not know that is not family, and the people that are being informed, and are publicly morning her, seem to be those who either lost touch with her, OR are people she didn’t really know well, i.e. just over face book.

THAT said, she may easily have been faking her death (if she is indeed faking it) in order to get out of, or away from something completely unrelated to PS, and it just so happened to trickle back here….. which given what most of us do for a hobby (and we are super good at it too!) was probably the worst place for this information to go to, if it is untrue.

Where is the legal notice as required by law?

  • Factitious_Detector

Perhaps you could let Caitlin know that this conversation is going on, and she could come in here and give us some more, or some real details? Because to be honest, I am still not buying this.

  • Factitious_Detector

Just out of curiosity, why are you coming forward now if you knew about the page, not 5(?) months or so ago? Not suggesting anything, I’m just wondering…. mostly I am wondering how many of her friends know about this and her history of scammy businesses and the like, and why more haven’t come forward.

    • strange situation

I was furious at the time and honestly still am, because this page is correct- Dee was in the wrong and it’s obvious to anyone with eyes. Even now I don’t want to say much about myself because Dee’s behavior here is so against the law and my personal ethics. Any work I did with Dee was legit beauty services- none of her scammy get-rich-quick garbage. I was adamant that she could not use these images and she blew me off repeatedly. I was fully aware of the kind of damage this would do to my own career, so I disengaged from her. Working in the studio on creative projects is fun and fulfilling, and I miss it.. but Dee couldn’t run a business properly either out of laziness or ignorance.

      • Factitious_Detector

Good on you, seriously. Its a shame, because it seemed she had actual talent in the beauty aspect of things. I will never get these people.

  • Ric New

I didn’t read every “newer” post. But, (in case no one else asked) if she really is dead, what’s the harm if these entries remain? They are just bits of data on a server somewhere. If she isn’t really dead, then of course, she would want these entries removed. Keeping the entries, dead or not, is the best course of action I would think. Just my two cents.

    • Me, Myself and I

Other than for historical value, this entry wouldn’t really serve any purpose anymore … if she really has passed on then the point of warning potential customers of hers is kind of moot.

I don;t see anything wrong with KEEPING the info live but I don;t see anything wrong (if she is truly gone) in removing it either.

Like you dais, kind of a non issue really.

      • barque

Whether or not she is dead, or alive and retired, or in a different business, or off raising tulips in the netherlands, this article is a valuable object lesson and warning, and just like all the other posts on PS, should always stay.

        • I agree …

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

        • Just a Girl

yeah, I think it should stay.

    • CrackerJacker

That’s the scary thing, though… no one seems to be able to definitively ascertain that she did, indeed, die! So she is either a master manipulator or so completely pathetic that she could pass away with so little acknowledgement from those she knew.

      • Thats how important she is …. Figures.

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • strange situation

If you are able to speak to Caitlin again, please tell her to spread this info.. and if you are in contact with Dee’s family, please, please ask them to actually write an obituary. It’s incredibly sad that they have not handled this yet if she passed away. She had friends in Portland who have zero information and would probably like at least the option to pay their respects. I only met Caitlin once in passing and I have no idea if I can find her number or if she would remember me. Thanks.

  • robert

Back taxes , the evection , and back rent , loss of income , because of the bust , money owed to studio landlords , possible cnn report ,possible photographers coming in to sue with copy right infringements , not to mention money own on several weddings never completed , etc

  • Paul G.

If she passed away in early December why are services being held so far away? Isn’t that something that’s normally handled within a few days of someone passing? I also come from a very small town and recently had to attend a funeral for someone that passed. There was still both an online and offline obituary that went up and services were prepared for three days later. This was also rather sudden and not something the family had just been prepared for/sitting on the whole time.

I really want to believe that people wouldn’t lie about something like this, but at the same time all the proof that we’re getting is extremely odd, and really all we have to go off of is some anonymous person saying this is legitimate. There’s nothing more…official to suggest this is true. Even informing us at all is strange. I mean, it sounds like people who actually knew Dee in real life hadn’t been informed, but apparently the people who outed her as a photo thief deserved to know despite the fact we investigated her months ago.

The reasoning behind Brian stumbling upon us in the first place is odd too. Supposedly, he was searching for an obituary many days after Danielle passed. This suggests that there is an obituary to find in the first place, and by the time he was doing it, Danielle would have also already had a funeral. There’s also the fact that we never had her real name and other people have confirmed that this never comes up in a search with her real name.

Let’s ignore all that and assume she has truly passed. Why tell us at all? Did you want the post taken down or something? I didn’t get the impression that Brian was trying to have it removed when he posted out of the blue, and he certainly hasn’t been advocating for that since then.

    • Factitious_Detector

There is just no evidence pointing to any of this being true or real. Everyone online mourning her has no details. No family seems to care. The only people that claim there has been a death, can give no information, and can’t even tell us WHO they heard it from.

This is just WAY too sketchy. My gramps died last year and he lived in a VERY small, VERY “one horse” town, that up until I was 12 years old still had “party line” phones. Sorry, Portland Oregon is not even remotely as “small” no matter how you want to spin it.

      THERE WAS STILL AN OBITUARY.
There was PUBLIC notice of the services.

I still call rubbish on this.

  • Factitious_Detector

Brian, Mrs. “Brian”, or Strange Situation… can ONE of you actually tell us WHERE she died? Oregon? California? Where?

    • strange situation

Based on all information I have, she would have been in Portland, OR when she died. She had been there in the previous weeks and I see nothing pointing to her having left the state. I still have no confirmation on funeral location/info outside the vague post from “Mrs. Brian” on this forum.

      • Factitious_Detector

I have the distinct suspicion that Brian and Mrs.Brian know exactly what is going on, and there is a reason there is no information to be found.

      • Savannah

Portland is in Multnomah county. Because I was home with food poisoning and had way too much free time, I contacted them and they had no matches for a death record matching a female over 30 matching Cunningham, D. in December.

And yes, I think most of us guessed she was still alive. While i’d be happy to hear that she didn’t pass ( for her family & her personal well being), knowing she tried to “fake her death” would be beyond embarrassing/infuriating.

Oregon is were she was last , like i mentioned , at the point of her “passing away ” she was being evicted from her apt in Portland Oregon , so there must be some record of that and when , if she did go to court , her landlord would of been the one to discover her body , also she may still be working for PIMA in Oregon .

    • Factitious_Detector

I’ve been trying very unsuccessfully to find any eviction records or court records.

In looking at it, it might be a studio space she has used, but I don’t think it is “hers”.

  • barque

Many states consider death records to NOT be public record. Oregon only allows access to death records to persons with “direct tangible interest.” They list those people as direct descendants or immediate family members, and adds certain needs for adjudication. Oregon state law protects all death records from public inspection for 50 years.

I wonder if it might be worth contacting some of the people who are mourning her, and sending this to them? Being lied to might spur one of them on into finding a friend or family member of hers to find out what is REALLY going on, and why she chose to lie about all of this in the first place.

    • John Q. Public

I should be in Portland mid/end of March. I’ll swing by 3rd st and see if theres any life in the studio. I’ll let you know what I find out.

      • Ima Hater

I would LOVE to know if there is any one around that has seen her since Dec 9th, the supposed day she died. Funny we haven’t heard back from the “Brians”, because either she deceived them, or they are in on it, or one or both is her.

        • John Q. Public

As long as I don’t get reassigned immediately after my current job, I’ll check it out. I’m a bit curious myself as to what has actually happened to her. My money’s on a new alias, using the same old tricks to deceive potential customers.

        • John Q. Public

I walked by that 818 3rd St address, and it’s a UPS store that has P.O. Boxes. The UPS store has been there for a while, a lot longer then 2014. The guy behind the counter wasn’t very helpful when I asked if Dee had been around recently. (I think it’s my accent!) I also went across the river to where that 109 studio is, and it looks abandoned. Maybe it is just the neighborhood and I was there in the middle of the day, but there was nothing happening.
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

I have unfortunately just found this thread and too late, I’m sure. My wedding photos have never been released to me (from 7/26/14) and I’m assuming that I will never have access to them now. At this point I don’t care whether she’s alive or dead and don’t want to take legal action, I just want my GD pictures.

Anyone had any luck as of recent tracking her down?

  • A_R

Pretty sure if your business card includes “travel agent” and “life coach” in the job cluster, you shouldn’t expect an elite level of anything, much less professionalism.
