PS Facebook Post

I was minding my own damn business when a post hit my Facebook feed from a photographer advertising mini sessions in a wedding group. I pinged right away they were stolen images so I searched to verify, then went to her Facebook Page and saw a shitbrick of stolen images advertising various sessions.

I replied and said, “These aren’t your images and it’s copyright infringement to use someone else’s work to advertise your own. This goes for ALL of the photos on your Facebook Page advertising sessions with images that aren’t yours.” and went along with my Sunday, not intending to make a post.

Then Kaley replies back saying, “If you read the entire post it’s stated it is an example of the set up. Thank you for your concern 🙂“

Ma’am. You did NOT just try to gaslight me. No, no siree.

Her original post, as shown below, states NOWHERE that these aren’t examples. She slyly edited to say that after I called her out then tried to gaslight me by saying her post stated that. EVEN IF IT DID, since we’re all here we know better than thinking that makes copyright infringement okay but she didn’t say that originally.

I replied again and also called her out on her gaslighting. She deleted the post and then blocked me. Curiously, she did NOT delete her ad.

So, here we go.

To make it CRYSTAL clear: even *if* you say “inspiration photos” unless you have permission from the photographer/original content creator you cannot just use the images. Even if you have THEIR permission your clients have a case against you for deceptive advertising if your images do not compare in quality to what you posted.

DO NOT USE IMAGES THAT ARE NOT YOUR OWN FOR MINI SESSION ADS.

I hate fake stories about stolen images and this guy is FULL OF THEM. It’s fucking creepy and it shows it’s no accident.

There is a remarkable difference between his images and the stolen ones which are generally placed on ads or rants that he seems to hope will go viral.

You have to look at some of these because it’s impressive how far he goes. Stolen photo of a camera body to sell his, goes into the nitty gritty details of how he captured an image of a fox he didn’t take, posting a stolen photo of ferns for a giveaway of his services. It’s wild shit.

Oh and a bonus at the end, he even steals images of other people’s artwork and claims it’s a work in progress of his.

There’s likely lots more but I have allergies kicking my ass today so I called it when I saw the stolen artwork.

Adam and Keli AKA THE SPANIERS in Cincinnati, OH

First some site business – my website went down at the beginning of February. Thankfully the company I hired was able to use a backup from June. There are posts missing from June through January of this year, some images missing and random things amiss but at least the website is functional again.

You may recognize this name… they were featured here back in 2019. It appears that they just cannot help themselves because they are back to plagiarizing AGAIN. I guess they really weren’t that sorry.

Since they were caught at it again this morning many pages on their website are down so I’m working with what is left. If you click around their website you’ll see what else was likely plagiarized. Some of these may have been in the first round of their outing here but since they remain here they’re being included again.

THIS PHOTOGRAPHER HAS NOT STOLEN PHOTOS

This is yet another submission for the Photo Shyster division.  Buckle up because it’s a freaking ride.

Luminus Photography used to go by Carter Creativ and was a photography and cinematography team of Tanya Carter and Orlando Maldonado.  While they advertised themselves as a “husband and wife” team, they were never married, only engaged.

Tanya is a MagMod Ambassador and Luminus as a team has a series of workshops they are booking for 2020.  Tanya was also featured as a “How I Shot It” photographer on the MagMod You Tube.

Currently there are about a dozen photography and videography clients waiting for products that I am aware of, potentially more.

There are also photographers and videographers who were hired as additional staff who were not paid.  Often these photographers were sent in without letting the clients know in advance and their work was not equal to the work Luminus advertised.

They are also booking workshops and advertising themselves as a team but according to both Tanya and Orlando, they have split up and are no longer in business together.

The more and more I’ve dug into this mess, the more apparent it has become that it’s a dumpster fire.

What spurred my decision to make a post is that one of the clients affected by this debacle originally hired another photographer I featured here – Choose 21 – and hired Luminus after reading that Choose 21 was no showing/not delivering files/had stolen content making up their portfolio.

Update 3/5/2020 – I feel like this guy right now trying to explain everything that has happened with this company.  Updates are at the bottom of the post.

Update 3/26/2020 – No videos have been delivered, communication is minimal at best and often coming via group chats with Tanya, Orlando and Trevor from MagMod.  Click the update to go to the details.

Update 1/20/2022 – No clients that I am aware of ever received their products and the ones waiting for refunds that hadn’t received them yet from Tanya never got them.

Apparently now Tanya is ‘tiktok’ famous for being in love with her son’s friend.  They go by Tanya & Josue and have been featured on Snapchat’s “Love Don’t Judge” series.

Also, sadly, some clients chose to believe Tanya when she informed them that I was lying and booked her for weddings after this post went live.  They are also now joining the other clients from this post waiting for their products.  For one wedding she ended up taking photos on her phone because her only memory card ‘failed’ and she missed a lot of photos when she went to the store to buy a new one.  No professional photographer should EVER shoot a wedding with one card on hand.  Ever.

At this point in time, as far as I am aware, there are still clients from all the way back to 2019 waiting for images and/or video.

I cannot stress this enough.  I didn’t do my usual deep dives here because most of these images are from various porn websites and Google Images doesn’t seem to index those well.

Most of his portfolio is stolen but I stopped sourcing because I have the icks.  Like I need a bleach shower and need these files off my computer because I feel dirty and like I might get arrested icks.  I’m not sure all of his images in his portfolio are of girls over 18.  This is dark y’all.
