  • CrackerJacker

Girls Only Portraits could have a really good May from copyright infringement settlements alone!

    • Suz

Not to mention the subjects in the photos, since the photo thieves didn’t have the signed model releases. Oops.

    • Justin Case

oh, let us hope. For this one, she should be able to get a lawyer who works on contingency

  • Norman Beer
    • Down already. At least for me it is.

      • Norman Beer

        I JUST went down!

        • You went down? On whom? 😉 Sorry, couldn’t resist!

          • Helena

            I’d be lying if I said i hadn’t sniggered.

      • Joseph Philbert

        That was fast. Facebook also..

  • Helena

I think I feel just as sorry for the subjects of the pictures as I do the photographers. It’s an intimate picture and some git stole it and splashed it about. Both parties must feel violated.

    • OtterMatt

Absolutely. One of the prereq’s for any intimate shoot is trust. Trust that the photographer will treat your body with respect. No such luck once it’s out in the web.

  • Joseph Philbert

Its funny when you find photo thief while gathering evidence from a previous thief that says they are innocent .. LOL

  • Brian D.

maybe the good new out of all this is that there really aren’t that may photographers out there after all…… there are a lot of photo stealers though.

  • Norman Beer

Moore Photo in Indianapolis, IN Boudoir Website is gone. The only one left right now is http://moorephotoindy.com. However, his Boudoir page therein is still up.

    • doncalifornia

Now it appears all that is left is the facebook page. Considering he has what he considers a viable business there, without the boudoir, I am guessing he is scrambling he brain trying to figure out how to keep that up without any major damage. LOL good luck Craig.

    • Brendan Kearns

He may have chose the name to capitalize off Moore Photography in Terre Haute, Indiana, a legitimate photo business.
      Brendan Kearns

  • doncalifornia

There is a common theme among photo stealers, their assertion that the standard practice of photography is unfair to the buyer. From Craig’s “About” page on facebook: “Moore Photography is built around making great images, not forcing you to buy prints…. When you shoot with me you will own the images, you will be able to print them when and how you want, and you won’t have to wait weeks to get your photos back, and you will own the final images files, I mean after all they are pictures of you…. My pricing includes everything that you need to have finished digital images for you and your family to enjoy” Like others we’ve seen, he doesn’t get the business, doesn’t understand copyright, and can’t possibly make money doing it this way. And biggest thing, doesn’t have any clue the kind of work, learning, mastery of equipment, understanding of light, of posing, of image making, it takes to be able to consistently produce imagery of any quality for the client. So he denigrates pro photographers, while stealing their work because for some darn reason he hasn’t produced any of it to show off.

    • Joel A

It seems that people don’t understand the word Business. Sometimes You pay for what you get.

    • BullShite

So basically this guy is signing away his copyright to his images to his clients…. FUUUUUUUGGIN HELL. The concept of this is about to make my brain explode. I mean…. to not comprehend how BAD that is…. Does he not see that they could turn around and SELL any of his images? Oh god… the stupid… it hurts so much….

      • what would be awesome, is to get some pictures done by him…get in writing that he is giving you copyright to the pictures. then when he uses YOUR pictures in his portfolio, force him to take them down since you own the copyrights to them and dont want them used for advertising.

        • doncalifornia

LOL maybe you just solved this whole mystery. He isn’t allowed to post a portfolio because he gave copyright away on all of his images. 😉

  • Norman Beer

Except for G+ it’s all gone.

  • Chris Pickrell

I’m sad. I live in Indianapolis, and he didn’t steal any of my photos 🙁

    • Zack Deal

      Poor Chris Pickrell 🙁

      • Chris Pickrell

Is it too much to ask that someone steal my photos? They’re good damn it. How will I know if I’m making it if people don’t try to pass off my work as theirs?

        • I know right! I got super excited last week when, when looking at my google analytics, I found a site using one of my pictures … I was all pumped to start sending notices and everything until I noticed it was a site made by a couple I am photogrpahing next month … they were using their engagpement pics and had linked to me.

          I’m a SAAAD Panda. 🙂

          • Bingo Little

Be careful what you wish for!

          • Meh … there’s way better stuff than what I produce out there to steal.

          • Chris Pickrell

Dude, photo theft is inevitable. You can either wring your hands and be vigilant about it, or laugh about it and deal with it when it happens.

I choose the latter cause it makes for funnier statuses.

    • Joseph Philbert

Google does not list your work lol

      • Chris Pickrell

Cause I haven’t uploaded anything there yet.

  • BullShite

I think this is more than a photo thief. I think this dude is a legitimate perv. ALL of the stolen photos seem to be of women, and young women… especially the ones in sexy poses… and look at the photo of him! I don’t think I know any woman that would trust getting nude or semi-nude in front of this guy…and that would also explain why he doesn’t seem to have any of his own photos. I am officially, and completely CREEPED OUT. This could be why he doesn’t seem to give a damn about any of his own images… he’s getting a rise out of (the idea of) just shooting them. I think I need to take a long hot shower…..

    • Chris Pickrell

I love how a photographer tries to shoot boudoir, and he’s immediately called a perv. Yet women do it, and they’re called professionals 😀

Why aren’t female photographers ever pervy? 😀

      • BullShite

Sure they are, but for the most part, a woman isn’t impressed by another womans body, just like a man isn’t impressed with other naked men. And I am not trying to be judgmental… I say this because it wouldn’t be the first time… and he really ONLY has women and young girls… most photographers have a bit wider of a portfolio.

        • I think we’ve established that he doens;t have a portfolio at all except a stolen one. :p

          • BullShite

Exactly. This is why I tend to think he is more of a “perv”. Even a faker would be branched out. Weddings, babies, cute puppies, food… SOMETHING. But it is all young women, and half-naked women. TOO SKETCHY for my experience….

          • captain-confuzzled

it does look like his cached FB page has some baby and family shoots, but it all disappeared so fast, hard to tell. Also get the creepy vibe from this one.

          • Justin Case

And what’s up with that? I just checked Model Mayhem. I got back 95 results of women willing to pose nude in Indianapolis. He really couldn’t find ONE to work with to get something for his portfolio?

          • I’m sure he could but paying for a model is more expensive than stealing images right?

          • Justin Case

a lot of the ‘models’ at MM will work in exchange for prints for their portfolio. It really isn’t that hard… unless you really are sketchy.

      • I shoot the odd boudoir session now and again and the reaction I get from male friends and coworkers is all along the lines of “I bet that A LOT OF FUN EH!! EH! Hahahahaha.” or “Lucky bastard, do you need and “ASSISTANT.”

Like I do this just for a chance to see nude or semi nude women.

And then when I tell them I have a guy lined up who wants to do some nudes or “boudoir” type shots for his wife (it’s happened twice now but both times the shoot fell through) they are all “Why would you do that?”

People just don’t get it … it’s not about perving out on some naked chick … it;s part art, part business.

        • Joseph Philbert

I go through the same shit .., I shoot men and women naked also. I always get ask why bother shoot guys .. Yea they don’t get it

          • BullShite

I draw/paint naked girls and guys all the time, sometimes from live models. I occasionally get garbage like this. I get the mindset of the artist, I am one…. but I also know a creeper when I see one, and this guy is a creeper. The disturbing thing is the relative age of girls in the not-boudoir photos….. I’m goona trust my internal “Red Flags” on this dude. They are pretty much never wrong.

      • Joseph Philbert

I know some pervy female photographers 🙂

  • Joseph Philbert

So I am guessing he will be one of those that disappears without explanation .

    • Justin Case

sure looks that way. Watch out Indianapolis, I bet there will soon be a new (rebranded) photographer with a familiar portfolio on the loose soon.

    • MLee Kneer

Well, that’s refreshing for a change! It’s not “the web designer” or the “employee” that did it!

  • OtterMatt

Comments about art aside, I’m legitimately creeped out by this dude, too. Let’s face it, taking boudoir shots is one thing. But faking other people’s work with the obvious goal of getting the chance to see people naked or nearly naked (and given the photos he stole, let’s say it’s safe to assume that he’s not interested in seeing nude guys) is full-on creepy. In fact, I’d doubt this guy is actually a photographer. Just a guy who wants to fake a photo session for the favor of seeing someone else’s genitals.

  • Joseph Philbert

    Wowness he shutdown his domain/website

    • Justin Case

but your comments are still up, Joseph. Lets see for how long

  • Wes Jones

I missed out on this one, all that seems to be left is the G+ page. I know nothing of boudoir photography… do photographers have their own “sets”? Where on earth do they take these photographs?

    • OtterMatt

Sets are cheapest, yeah, but I think that hotels and B&B rentals are popular, too. Dunno about the logistics and legality of it, but still.

      • Wes Jones

Hmmm… just wondering because from the looks of it he operates his “studio” from his house and the hours of operation are 7am-10pm. 10pm seems a little late in the evening to be going to a photographer’s “studio”, especially one that is in a private home.

        • OtterMatt

Well, bear in mind that expecting any sort of class or professionalism from someone like this is reaching a bit. :

    • Hotels, clients home, rented studio (there was one here in Ottawa that has specialized sets), my home studio …

  • Justin Case

since we missed it, I can’t verify this, but it looks like he was also making up fake testimonials as well: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:McOMkdyC9R4J:moorephotoindy.com/fineart/thank-you-thank-you/+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=is&lr=lang_en|lang_de|lang_is|lang_ru&client=firefox-a

    • Helena

That is REALLY creepy if he hasn’t shot a boudoir session.

    • BullShite

OK, those comments just skeeze me out even more. You can tell the way they are written that it’s all the same guy.

    • Just a Girl

      Sleeeeazie!

  • Joseph Philbert

    We missed his tumblr account
    http://moorephotographyindy.tumblr.com

    • Justin Case

nothing to do with his stolen ‘boudoir’ business directly, but I found this ad on his tumbr kind of humorous:

“Are you an art school student? A photography major? I am currently looking for a photo assistant to work with me on shoots.
My photo assistant would be responsible for helping carry gear, set up gear, and adjusting lighting while at shoots.
If this sounds like you, get in touch.”

This is actually one of the most honest descriptions I’ve ever read for a photo assistant. Nothing about mentoring, learning a craft or gaining knowledge. Just cheap, physical labor. At least he’s forward about that!

    • LookAtStuff

I believe it is down now, same with fb.

      • Joseph Philbert

        Yea it is ..
