  • Celine (peaceetc)

To FAY ANDREA IN LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM,

Welcome to the world of being outed by Photo Stealers (Stop Stealing Photos). It is our goal to root out and put a stop to photography copyright infringement. Your outing is one step towards that goal. You used photos you were not authorized to use, which is illegal. You’re probably confused and angry, so let us try to help you get a handle on things by giving you a checklist of things you should be doing and not doing.

Please do NOT do the following:

    1. React with anger, go into denial, or start in with the threats. We already have the evidence against you. The best thing you can do for you is to be honest and to deal with this head on.

    2. Flag comments on this listing. The mods will just put them back, so don’t waste your time.

    3. Lie or offer excuses. We have heard every excuse in the book (really, we have. One guy even blamed Obama.), and you will not come up with something we haven’t heard before. You are not a special snowflake. Nothing you can say will justify what you did, so don’t bother.

    4. Accuse us of slander (because nobody ever figures out it has to be verbal to be slander). We stick to the facts, and if something is publicly available, it’s fair game.

    5. Create fake accounts to defend yourself. We will see through it, and it’s just a waste of time.

    Please DO the following:

    1. Remove any and all stolen images immediately. That means now. Right now. And no, simply hiding them from public view doesn’t count. They need to be completely deleted.

    2. Apologize DIRECTLY to those from whom you have stolen (and tell the truth!), and offer monetary compensation. You used their images in a professional setting to try to make money, so you owe them that much.

    3. Hope they don’t sue you. Copyright infringement is illegal under the law, and you can be sued for thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars, for EACH stolen image. Yes, seriously.

    4. Apologize publicly, on all the sites and social media accounts where the stolen work appeared. Again, you owe it to your clients, fans, friends, etc., to be honest.

    5. Learn about how copyright works. Look up the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. What you may think you know and what is actually the truth are probably two different things (as in: no, posting someone else’s photo as “inspiration” is not a valid reason, nor is it good enough to provide credit. If you don’t have express permission to post someone else’s image, then you don’t post it. That’s it, the end).

    6. DON’T STEAL. It’s not complicated — if you didn’t take a photo and don’t have permission to use it from the actual copyright holder, then don’t use it. It’s that simple. Yes, seriously. You claim to be a photographer, so why on earth would you want to use others’ images, anyway? How does that make sense?

    And remember:

    1. If you do it again, you will be caught. We go back and check old listings to make sure they haven’t started stealing again. And don’t forget — Google knows. Anytime someone searched for your business, this listing will come up.

    2. Think about the actual victims here (no, not you) — those whose images you stole. You screwed them over. And frankly, that’s a pretty damned crappy thing to do. And think about the clients you’ve mislead by presenting a false front. They’re victims, too.

  • Marc W.

    *their. And – “and” ๐Ÿ™‚

  • CrackerJacker

Do we have an over/under on the level of crazy for this one?

    • The jury is out on this one…. the shit has not hit the fan yet.

      • Helena

Because it’s the middle of the night here in the UK.

  • I really really hate it more when photographers that have some talent resort to stealing images. I mean I can understand why talentless hacks do it somewhat…

    • Helena

Yeah if you have a body of work of good quality, then why steal? It’s false advertising.

    • Just a Girl

They have some good stuff there! What a shame!

  • Marc W.

Wonder how much some of those review cost?! Also. SURPRISE! self review!

    • You can’t fix stupid

I always laugh out so much when I see self reviews. Good god have they got no confidence in their work.

      • Photo Stealers

Eh, I 5starred myself when I was trying to figure out the star rating crap when Facebook released it. So long as they don’t act like a client I don’t think it’s that bad.

        • Marc W.

          Did you leave it up?

          • Photo Stealers

I have since I was getting bombarded with 1 stars from PS people.

          • Marc W.

I guess this is where we disagree, but we’re allowed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ugh, sucks that you have do that because you’re being attacked.

        • You can’t fix stupid

I have seen some where they do act as the client. I kid you not.

  • BigAl

I don’t think you will get much reaction yet. Afterall it is 3:12 AM on a Sunday morning here in the UK. Only us insomniacs and night workers (I’d be not so sure about the night workers either, based on when I worked shifts) awake at the moment

    • Helena

And those of us with babies that wake up every 5 minutes (or so it seems).

      • BigAl

Yes my “babies” are 26, 25 and 17 now, so mostly sleeping through. Although my daughter (17) would not sleep properly for about the first two years, the only way she would sleep was if I held her. You can only put up with the screaming for so long.

        • Helena

My 4yo still wakes up, but he’s like a ninja. I wake up to feed the baby, and there he is, snuggled up next to me. I can cope with that. I have zero tolerance for screaming. It drives me mental.

          • Marc W.

Sounds like our ninja dog and baby.

          • BigAl

I’m not into that either, so many a night half spent sleeping on the sofa with Rosie using me as a pillow. Quite happy to sleep like that.

I have to say that now I am now a single dad. I also have some pretty serious disabling health conditions. Rosie is now my main care giver, as well as doing very well studying Law, Drama and English Lit at 6th form. On top of that she is also a very accomplished sports woman in her chosen sport. All this and only 17, I just want people to know both how proud of her I am, as well as how much I love her. Not to say that I don’t love my two boys just as much of course.

            Alan

          • Helena

Baby cuddles are amazing. I wouldn’t trade sleep for them. Lovely sentiment about your daughter too. I’m sure she knows how proud you are. Your boys too.

          • BigAl

Oh yes the baby stuff is so good, still feels like yesterday at times. Brings back some really nice memories just talking about it.

I know how lucky I am to have Rosie, and just how much she loves me. They were very unlucky with their mother, as she is not at all a nice person, and was not very nice to any of them. She tells anyone who will listen that I am the best parent in the world, and that dads are the best.

  • GlennMcQuaig

Yeah, someone will be waking up to a real sh*tstorm in a few hours!
Haven’t we seen some of these stolen images before? Or are they all starting to look like one another?
This is a shame because as was already mentioned, this photographer(s) has talent. No need to steal. I don’t get that. Hoping this will be a genuine mea culpa and good resolution. But I won’t hold my breath.

    • You can’t fix stupid

Getting my popcorn ready right now!

  • Helena

I really hope Fay and Andrea do the right thing and clear this up quickly. Just delete all photos that aren’t yours, apologise for using other people’s work and carry on using your own work.

Please understand how it appears from a consumer point of view. If you see these ads, you think you’re going to get a certain style or quality, which is different from yours. It’s subsequently disappointing when the images are different from advertised.

This is honestly the reason I’ve been hesitant to book my family photos with a photographer, because I find it difficult to trust that I will get the same style as advertised or displayed in the portfolio.

    • Just a Girl

      well said!!!!

    • Celine (peaceetc)

I am so for this idea, Helena. I hope they take your advice.

      • Helena

Me too. This is honestly a problem for me. If I don’t get pictures soon, squish won’t be a baby. I’ve been dithering and nervous for 3 months already.

        • Just a Girl

then you just need to have another one….

          • Helena

Ha! My husband has already ruled out that idea. ๐Ÿ™

          • Just a Girl

๐Ÿ™‚ ooooooh but WE want one and the crowd wins! Get’er done, Helena!

  • Celine (peaceetc)

Everyone, please do not leave negative reviews on the pages of those outed here. It’s best to just express yourself here or on the Photo Stealers Facebook page.

Please keep in mind your actions reflect back on Photo Stealers, so please be civil. Thank you.

    • Celine (peaceetc)

As a follow up, let me just say this — if there is even the vaguest chance of a photo stealer cleaning up their act and flying straight, we have to *give* them that chance. Immediately running to their Facebook page to leave one-star reviews does not help anything, and very well might make things worse. So just chill, give the stealers a chance to respond, and let’s see what happens.

Please. Think of the ramifications before you act.

      • Helena

Yes, I imagine the slew of 1 star reviews is why people in the US can no longer see the Facebook page. It is NOT helpful.

        • xma1e

          Agreed.

      • Ohhh got you so wait and if they act the fool then drop the ball..

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

        • Bob23325

You’re as bad as I am. Nothing brightens my day more than dropping a well-deserved turd in someone’s punchbowl…

      • GlennMcQuaig

        Brava! In complete agreement.

    • Really ???? Great …. I kinda like leaving reviews because its incredibly hare to have them removed
Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

      • Helena

Yeah, but as lots of people experienced over the past few days, getting negative reviews because someone who hasn’t used your service is pissed off is incredibly annoying and it does us no favours.

      • xma1e

Unfortunately it looks like those who didn’t post on their page are also receiving negative reviews in retaliation to those who did.

  • Helena

All of the above photos have been removed.

    • captain-confuzzled

still some on Andrea’s personal FB page https://www.facebook.com/andrea.bourne.98 sigh

      • Helena

        Well that’s disappointing. ๐Ÿ™

        • captain-confuzzled

now pics are gone from Andrea’s page also

  • You can’t fix stupid

Just because it is found on Pinterest doesn’t mean that it is for free and it doesn’t mean that you can use it.

  • U Really That Dumb?

    Josie,

I’m going to answer your “points” one by one so you might be clear as to what I’m talking about.

    1) Local to the UK. AND? Who cares where in the world they are. This is an INTERNATIONAL MEDIA SOURCE just like BBC, FOX, NBC, REUTERS, CNN. Which by the way have all referenced back to this page a THEIR source because it’s the number one source for image theft by fauxtographers.

    2) Trying their best? Well, if you have to resort to stealing, then their ‘best’ must not be up to par with what they want client to think they can pull off.

    3) Not labeled as theirs. Does not matter. It’s illegal and by having them in adverts they are looking at hundreds of thousands in fines.

    4) Pinterest. You are NOT free to use images from Pinterest, Google, or any other website for your own gain.

    5) Fuji. There have been bigger fish than them to go down in flames. Look at Nikon and Doug Gordon. J-Star. The list goes on and on. The chance that they are still ‘sponsored’ by Fuji come Friday morning is slim to none. They are a tiny tiny fish in the world of photography and Fuji will make damn sure they have nothing to do with them.

    6) Us destroying them. No, they did that 100% to themselves by stealing images.

    7) Family women with busy lives. They can now add thief and fraudster to that list.

    8) Learn from their talent. What talent? Right-Click-Save as?

    Read this: http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html

  • U Really That Dumb?

Are you serious? You are basing guilt or innocence on looks? WOW! That’s going to go over really well in court! Let me know how that works out for you.

I don’t care if they are personal friends with the Queen, they STOLE and have committed fraud.

As for the industry contacts, you have no idea who is in this forum, who watches it, and who we all know and work with. Names of the like that they only wish to meet, much less get 1/10th as good as. I will bet that anyone they know will quickly distance themselves once they see the indisputable evidence showing they stole. Especially from other photographers. That is an absolute no go!

  • Mr Wonderful

hey JOSIE, look up doug gordon he was sponsored by Nikon and he was caught stealing images & text from other people. He is now NOT sponsored by them because of this. Just because you met someone and they were nice to you doesn’t excuse them from stealing. To be honest its not hard to get sponsored by a small brand like Fuji or Olympus because believe it or not they aren’t that popular. I’ve met a lot of mediocre photographers who are sponsored by them so don’t let it go to your head please.

    • Melinda Potter

And obviously they don’t take much time/effort vetting/checking out the photographers :/

  • Helena

Okay Josie, you’re a client of Fay and Andrea. Let’s look at it this way. You have pictures taken of you, or maybe your children, and one day, while scrolling through Facebook, you find one or a series of pictures of you and your children in an advert for another photographer, and proudly displayed in their portfolio. It’s okay though, they didn’t *say* they took the photos. Is *that* okay with you? If it was you or your children being exploited illegally for someone else’s gain?

On another note, HOW DARE YOU accuse us of being disgusting for being upset when people break the law. I have been perfectly polite, and even defended Fay and Andrea in this thread against people posting poor reviews, yet you singled out my comment. You know nothing about this subject, as evidenced by your assertion that pinterest is a free image sharing site. It is not. Read their terms and conditions. You know nothing of the people here. I’m a busy family woman too, but I’ve never stolen an image for advertising use. What I’m getting at here, is you know a whole lot of nothing, yet you came here spouting your mouth off and inciting vitriol from the commenters here. Congratulations Josie, you have made things worse for Fay and Andrea.

Those of us in the UK have as much right to be outraged by copyright infringement as people in the US, and I couldn’t give a crap who sponsors them. If they are sponsored by a company, and educating other photographers then they should be held to a HIGHER standard than the rest of us. Seriously, copyright infringement was covered in my first photography class. There is no excuse for this.

  • Helena

What exactly did BigAl say to warrant being called an idiot? After all, he stated a fact. It seems to me the only idiot here is you, and rude, condescending and ignorant to add to that.

  • Glenn Bruce

I see the 5 star reviews are being posted for them at an amazing rate – over 30 5
star reviews today – guess they are asking all their mates (y)

    • Me, Myself and I

      Or buying reviews

    • You can’t fix stupid

While the page was up I checked and most were from friends of Andrea.

  • Now there is an closing argument I’ve never heard before in a court room. “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. You have heard testimony from the witnesses and seen the evidence. I ask you though, to ignore all that and look hard at the defendant. They don’t look like guilty people, so I ask you to return a innocent verdict.”

  • Melinda Potter

I’m sure they want others to respect their copyright, yet they don’t respect anyone else’s. Photographers don’t take and use other photographers work to promote their services PERIOD. It’s the lowest thing anyone claiming to be a photographer could ever do. Talent, or not, they both know better than to do this. To top it off these are pictures of people’s children being used to sell their photography/workshop… ewwwww. Children they have never met, who’s parents didn’t give them permission to use their images. If it were THEIR clients being used by another photographer in this manner, I can guarantee they would NOT be pleased, and neither would their clients. They claim to be educators in the industry!? What kind of example are they setting doing this?! It’s not ok. They need to own up to what they did, apologize for it, and let their followers know that it’s wrong to do. Just so very wrong, unethical, and illegal. It’s really the only way they can save face. I really hope they decide to go about this the right way, and take responsibility for what they have been doing, and make things right.

  • Melinda Potter

seriously, your insults aside… Reading their bios made me even more angry about what they have been doing. The fact that they know the hard work involved, that they create good photography, that they have connected with people and know the connection between client and photographer and what it means, that they are sponsored, and that they educate makes their unethical and illegal business practices all the more ruthless to me. To just flippantly take from others in their own field tells me that they don’t value what they do very highly, or value their clients very highly either. Both their photography clients like you, AND their students. It’s sad, it’s lazy, it’s thoughtless… it’s disgusting

  • Photo Stealers

We’ve had a Nikon Ambassador featured here before, no one is infallible.

Just because their watermark isn’t on the image doesn’t mean it’s OK to use these to advertise their business. THIS is what is wrong with the world – people take because they feel entitled to it.

  • Photo Stealers

Post has been updated with more images. Thanks Josie!

  • Marc W.

Wait, Pinterest is a free sharing site where you can take any photo and use it as your own? Looks like Fay Hill also posted FayAndrea photos on there so anyone can take it and use it.

  • Melinda Potter

Do me a favor Josie, and just click on the first thumbnail in the article above. Look at that screen shot, read it knowing that they never met these children, never photographed them, never made a connection with them, never had permission from their parents to use their images to market with. Instead they took the images from the photographer that created them, and then wrote this:

โ€œsuch an incredible gift, a miracle. I often wonder, what will they be, what life will they give to this world? How will this world change as our children grow? Such tiny, precious beings, and such an honor to be given the opportunity to photograph this fleeting time in their livesโ€ (then a link to Fayandreaโ€™s website)

They did this repeatedly. Never mind that itโ€™s against the lawโ€ฆ You donโ€™t find it creepy? You don’t find this unethical as hell?! THIS is ok with you?!

  • Helena

Anyone get the feeling that Fay has/had no idea about the copyright infringement going on?

    • Melinda Potter

Yep, no idea. I’m sure it was a hacker/intern and she/they will be appalled and the guilty party fired namelessly. and I’m sure Josie is in fact a client, and not fay/andrea throwing a fit. We could be wrong though

      • Helena

I dunno. A lot of the stuff seems to have originated from Andrea’s account. It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened either.

        • Marc W.

Someone would have had to hack both the FA account and Andrea’s account, right? Yeah, unlikely.

          • Helena

No, I’m theorising that Andrea is supplying the images and posting them to her Facebook and the FA page, and Fay is under the impression that they’re Andrea’s photos.

          • Marc W.

            ohhhh, partner drama!

          • Helena

Possibly. I’d be interested to know whether my suspicions are right.

        • Melinda Potter

oh! You were being serious! oops lol I haven’t dug at all on this one. Just took the time to read the posting. I suppose it really could have been just one of them in charge of the page/pages. Honestly, I just hope that they come clean to their audience and own what they did. I really really want these two to be good people.

          • Helena

Me too. Which is why it was such a shame Josie had to come here and make such an arse of herself.

          • Melinda Potter

yeah, I know she sure got me going. My thoughts couldn’t get out of my head fast enough. Then, because she was so ignorant and insulting, it made everyone want to dig a little more and find MORE stolen images. Things could still turn around for the better though (my fingers are crossed)

        • You can’t fix stupid

When I was checking the reviews this morning, most were posted by people what were friends with Andrea.

      • GlennMcQuaig

FB page down for me too. Doesn’t come up in the search either. Run and hide strategy?

        • Helena

Nope it is definitely up. I expect UK residents are the only people who can see it.

    • barque

My opinion, it honestly looks to me like Fay has no idea about any of this. I think Andrea is on super overdrive right now trying desperately to cover it up. Fay comes from the modeling, managing, MUA side and her only photography has been to work as a second shooter to some famous photographer guy in the UK, for whom she also arranges models and commercial shoots etc. Somehow Andrea and she hooked up to do this women-owned photography team, but really Andrea is the one running all the photo sites and social media. She has obviously done all the stealing and fraud. As soon as Fay and this other guy see about the depth of the problem Andrea has created, they will distance themselves from her.

  • Me, Myself and I

If you are going to come on here and argue your side/point … please take the time to educate yourself.

Page is till very much up Joseph, and they have had over 35 ‘five star’ reviews today –

      • Ric New

Obvious reviews are being bought and I guess its an attempt to get the few negative ones lost in the crowd. Its ok. Every bride searches the internet in 2015. They’ll find this site.

          Probably bought likes too.

  • V323

Did anyone notice they’re using the $ in the cake smash advert? Why not the pound if they’re UK based?

If they had left the original watermarks, I could almost understand the Pinterest excuse…When you remove them…well, you should be responsible for the consequences.

  • Ric New

I normally ignore post like this. All crooks, no matter what level crime they are committing, have friends and/or supporters. Personally, I believe this site is perfect for potential customers of these photo stealers to look at the evidence and come to what every conclusion they want too. Its a waste of time to try and convince a supporter of these photo stealers. If they are supporting them even after seeing the evidence you aren’t going to change their minds. Let them rank and move on.

  • Travellerlisa

Some of the text on their sites is a bit … Unoriginal.

  • U Really That Dumb?

Fay & Andrea of FayAndrea in London, England, United Kingdom,

As mentioned many times below, you have been caught red handed stealing images and committing fraud by advertising using the stolen images. Think that boosting your reviews is going to offset the SEO this site builds against you is like pissing in the wind. NOT a good idea! By continuing these games you’re going to ruin any chance of ever photographing another wedding, baby, newborn, family, or ever teaching another workshop in or around the London, UK area or anywhere for that matter.

We know you’re watching the page because you’re deleting/hiding pictures.

STOP the BS and start apologizing! Keeping this up will destroy you and any chance you have of ever working in the industry AND increase the chance of getting charged with criminal fraud.

*Any other sites found will be added to this list.

http://iconosquare.com/fayandrea I don’t have time to look for stolen photos on this one, but I assume we will find more of the same http://iconosquare.com/fayandrea

      • Me, Myself and I

Quick scan came back clean (tried about 20 random images),

        • Melinda Potter

yes, for me too. Maybe Andrea IS the only culprit?

          • Helena

Even if Fay is innocent, they have handled this terribly. It could have been a quick apology, remove all the images, and move on. Instead, 3 days later and they have battened down the hatches and admitted nothing. Hardly honest or professional.

          • Melinda Potter

            Agreed

          • Peter Kelly

I’m generally just a lurker and vary between horrified, baffled, and hysterically amused here. This case, though, seems to be unique!

It appears that there are two decent photographers that have built up reputations and businesses individually and have recently co-operated. Now, for who knows what reason, Andrea has ‘submitted’ all these stolen photographs onto the joint enterprise and completely landed Fay in it!

If that proves to be true, and Fay is entirely innocent, the long term cost to her could be extraordinary! How would anyone resolve such an issue? I wouldn’t know where to begin in assessing financial terms. Then there is whether Fuji will pull the rug (do they know?), let alone shattering trust of other people; it could be as bad, psychologically, as being mugged!

Perhaps this might be why there has been so little coming from the two, if they’re in the middle of a huge personal row. I’ll certainly watch with interest to see what happens.

    • Helena
      • Me, Myself and I

Quick scan of a couple of the galleries have come up all clean.

  • C Sab

Josie, just because they’re sponsored doesn’t mean they’re not thieves. Doug Gordon was sponsored by Nikon and when they found out he was a thief (thanks to us) Nikon cut him off. Also, how is it disgusting to expose someone who is making profit off of other people’s work? The disgusting this is that these people are doing this. We’re just doing thee right thing, and if that’s disgusting to you then your morals are questionable.

  • C Sab

The fact you feel the need to throw insults so often is doing more harm to you and the thief than good. It’s pretty much an admission of guilt (we’ve seen it done countless times).

  • Celine (peaceetc)

To FayAndrea in London, England, United Kingdom (anyone who might be inclined to defend them):

I don’t care if you’re nice, who your sponsors are, or that you take nice photos. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t. Not even a little.

What does matter is this: you stole others’ images and used them without permission to promote your *photography business*. You decided to to use others’ work *for profit* without permission, without regard for those who did take the images, without any regard that you were completely misleading your clients and potential clients.

What really matters most: you stole baby photos. Let me repeat that. YOU STOLE BABY PHOTOS. Other peoples’ babies were used without the knowledge or permission of their parents in an effort to make money. Innocent little children, Fay and Andrea. You made no effort to say these weren’t your images, and you made no effort to correct anyone when they complimented “your” work.

What was going through your mind when you did this? What made you think it was okay? What if someone did this with images of your own children? Would you be okay with that?

Do I sound angry? It’s because I am. I don’t even have children, and even I can see how sick it is to do something like this. It’s bad enough to steal photos, but this goes way, way over the line.

Remove EVERY SINGLE PHOTO YOU DID NOT TAKE from all of your online pages, profiles, walls, etc. Apologize publicly on all of those pages, profiles, walls, etc. Apologize privately to those from whom you stole. And above all, NEVER do it again.

    • Melinda Potter

They seriously NEED to clean up! Not just the photos we found not to be theirs, EVERYTHING that the did not create themselves.

      • Celine (peaceetc)

Right! I forgot about the stolen text. The baby thing is really pissing me off, so I kind of zeroed in on that and forgot about the rest.

        • Melinda Potter

          understandable

    • C Sab

Oh and don’t try to defend yourself or make excuses. We’ve heard every single defense or excuse that could ever be used countless times and we don’t believe that bs for a second. Also, much bigger photographers than you have been taken down by this site because they stole images as well. Don’t make the same mistake.

  • Very Very Very interesting it seems facebook changed the way a FanPage works now it seems that if they change the region/location that you can still see the page if you logoff FB and few anonymously . ๐Ÿ™‚

  • BigAl

Sorry had things to do in the real world. So I guess she’s not going to be the MD of a really successful photo agency, working with top celebrities by the end of the week. Or even a PR company, although I guess she might be needing the services of one of those quite soon her self. these two women are partners in a business, that makes them responsible for everything gone in the names of that business. This is not a case of a mistake or error. That might be one or two images improperly used for a short time. I can even understand a junior member of staff making that error. Although I would expect that the mistake would be quickly identified and dealt with appropriately, by the removal of the content, and training of the staff member.

This falls far outside a mistake. This is repeated multiple instances of deliberate .misuse of both images, and it seems text. When I say repeated it’s not a couple of times, or even tens of times, it is hundreds of times that they have stolen others Intellectual Property and used it for their direct benefit. That shows a complete lack of both morals and honesty.

If you really need some help with copyright and the concepts of fair use then I am sure my daughter could help you out. As I have said she is studying BTEC Law at 6th form. Lesson one on day one of the course: Copyright, fair use and plagiarism. Actually this is a subject that is covered by all the students when they start at the 6th form college that Rosie attends. This is a subject that is taken very seriously by the college and the examining boards. I know that students have been expelled from the college for plagiarism and other copyright infringements.

  • Helena

Do you know what’s sad? As I’ve said, I’ve been looking for a photographer. Had these two handled this with class, I would have enquired. I like their work. Unfortunately, I don’t like their ethics. Sweeping this under the rug and ignoring it will not work. You need to own this now, before it gets worse.

  • Man.. how can I be surprised every time!
Not only that, that picture of Fay makes her look like a douche. Especially now that I know she’s a photo thief. Otherwise, I’d probably say…nah, douche it is.

    • Me, Myself and I

Not douchy … just kind of convoluted.

    • Fay doesn’t seem to have any photos not taken by her on any of her accounts, unless I’m looking in the wrong places. It’s mostly been Andrea Bourne. She *still* has images on her personal pages which aren’t hers.
Sad thing is, neither of these women benefit from stolen photos. They already have a decent portfolio.

      • This is what freaks me out and pisses me off about them eveore!

Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

  • The more I look at Andrea’s theft, the more sickened I become.

Andrea Bourne of FayAndrea Photography in Southgate London, what compels you to, not only strip a watermark from a photo which isn’t yours, but then pretend you took the photo, especially of these children you’ve never met? These are someone’s babies, someone’s cherished memories taken by another photographer which you’re using for your own monetary gain. And it’s not just once or twice, but it’s many, many times. You speak of them as though you were there, and that’s creepy. Don’t you see how creepy that is?

Seriously, Andrea, how are you okay with this?

    • Yeah, as mentioned below, I would get all stabby if someone did that to my child. Seriously.

  • Helena

Well this is interesting. Go to http://www.andreabourne.co.uk and look at the galleries, then try and right click the images. Isn’t that pop up just precious?!

    • Me, Myself and I
      • Helena

Shame she stole on every other platform really. It wasn’t the images I was going after so much, just the “These images are protected” message. It’s so hypocritical to insist people respect your copyright when you couldn’t give a crap about the copyright of others.

    • carlene

What was it? I can’t do that on this device and now I’m teally curious. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • carlene

Nevermind. Got it reading further down. ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Andrey Sanger

      Ck ck ck..

      • U Really That Dumb?

Which is funny because I’m able to download every image from her page without any problems. So whoever she’s hosting with is giving her a very false sense of security!

        • Celine (peaceetc)

It doesn’t matter, anyway. All anyone has to do is save the page itself, or do screenshots to save the pictures. Blocking a right-click just makes it slightly more difficult to download them.

        • Helena

Meh, no right click is hardly scary. All it takes is a little bit of nouse and you can easily bypass it.

    • U Really That Dumb?
  • barque

Josie, the websites and social media are using other photographers’ photos without their permission, for starters. That’s already copyright infringement. This site, Photo Stealers, isn’t “doing” anything to FayAndrea. This site is simply reporting a clear clear willful violation of copyright law, and fraud. If you rob a convenience store, and the news station reports it, the news station is not doing anything to you. You did it to yourself. In addition to that, yes, Andrea is making it look like it is her photography. She put a copyright notice on or near many of the photos she posted. It’s obvious, there shouldn’t be any argument here. The only question is, will Andrea admit it and clear up her problem or not. Oh, and there is the question of how quickly Fuji will drop them like a hot potato.

  • Any public statements by them yet?

    • Justin Case

Crickets. I wonder if http://fujifilm-x.com/photographers/en/fay_andrea_02/#01 has noticed the controversy yet.

(and Al, check your ‘other’ folder on facebook)

      • xma1e

Still on their page a month later so i imagine stealing photos if the new Fuji requirement

    • You can’t fix stupid

Nothing and their FB page is still up like business as usual.

      • You can’t fix stupid

        love this LOL

        • C Sab

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Now I have one more reason to not like this fraud: she made me laugh so hard my Coke shot out of my nose.

  • wow! I’ve never seen anything like this one. The Facebook page is down so somethings getting done.

    • Photo Stealers

I believe they blocked it so only the UK can see it but I could be wrong.

      • wow again I know you can report to fb the content and they will shut them down because i just went through this with a portrait of mine

      • Helena

I can’t see it, so I think it is down.

      • Helena

Oh no, my bad, it is back up.

  • What I don’t get with all these photographers who steal images is – how can the people that hire them think they actually took those images? Their real ones must be so bad they’d look nothing like the stolen ones and people would demand their money back. Makes no sense.

    • Melinda Potter

Lack of talent isn’t always a factor. These two for example. Their real work was/is pretty good and close to on par.
I think thievery comes more from lack of scruples arrogance/ego, and laziness more than anything. Or that seems to be the common bond, rather than lack of talent.
Although lots of times the fauxtographers that are featured here are horribad at making pictures, and are a law suit waiting to happen. And it just makes you go WTH?!? Are these people not thinking?!

  • Melinda Potter

I’m really surprized that they’re still being sponsored by fuji, and their profile is still up. Should I try contacting fuji again? Or do they just not care? Anyone ever hear from them?

    • Melinda Potter

Still haven’t heard anything back from them. I just tried contacting them though Facebook. Maybe that will work?

      • Ilyon

This one is really pissing me off, honestly. I feel like the small-time photographers will freak out, make a big deal and ruin themselves a la SJK. These guys are actually good and should really know not to do this. Like… REALLY know. And from the looks of things, the plan is to weather the storm and hope it blows over. And it looks like it’s working. I did link them to this article and Fujifilm on Twitter though… Maybe they’ll apologize and make it right? https://twitter.com/FayAndreaPhoto/status/568740085136535552

        • Melinda Potter

Me too! They are educators for goodness sake! No! This can’t just go away for them. It really bothers me most that Fuji hasn’t responded at all to any of my messages. I didnt want to adress fuji publicly about it, for obvious reasons, but it may be the only way to get them to listen. I’ve also been very soft spoken with them, when what I want to say, isn’t so soft. In a few days it will have been a month since the posting and my first attempt at communicating with fuji. I’m getting impatient.

          • Ilyon

Keep it up, make it public. They shared the photos as their own, publicly. If Fujifilm wanted to do something about this, it would be done. A month is more than adequate.

          • Melinda Potter

Ok this is my last attempt at being somewhat quiet about this. I posted at the dedpxl assignment pool on flickr. You can’t get a bigger fuji fan base than that. I’ll sit, I’ll wait, and then *giggles* I don’t know what I’ll do next to try to get them to listen. I’m not the most aggressive proactive person in the world ๐Ÿ˜‰ (screen shot of my dedpxl post attached to this comment)

          • xma1e

Tweet them. Ask if stealing photos is a new require to get on their list.

          • Melinda Potter

I don’t have a twitter ๐Ÿ™ If you do Could YOU do it?

          • xma1e

I’m sure someone can tweet them.

          • Marc W.

            No, you hang up first.

          • xma1e

Unfortunately I was travelling earlier, so no time to sift through all his until now.

        • Melinda Potter

just saw your attachment when I re read. Are you saying they still are using other people’s work?!?! (They blocked the U.S. from seeing their Facebook and Facebook content)

          • Ilyon

Don’t know. Doubt it. Was trying to bring attention to the fact they did it in the past and didn’t acknowledge it. You can’t steal like that and then just start posting like nothing happened.

          • Melinda Potter

OH I see! Yeah, these two just… business as usual. I do think one of them came and claimed they were a client/fan of theirs in the comments here though. Way too much credential (bragging) and “How dare you!’ attitude NOT to be them

    • You can’t fix stupid

I haven’t heard anything either. Doesn’t mean that we will give up.

  • Melinda Potter

I found the E-mail for sponsorship inquiries if anyone wants to join me in asking them if they are comfortable sponsoring known infringers sponsorship@fuji.co.uk

    • Jim Martin

It will be interesting to see if Fuji responds. I would have expected Fuji to drop FayAndrea the minute they confirmed they were thieves. Wonder if it just slipped past Fuji or if Fuji is indifferent.

      • Melinda Potter

I’m taking it to the streets. Hopefully someone listens and gets the ball rolling. I sent out at least 7 emails to various Fuji Emails, no reply. I sent out PMs to all their Facebook pages hoping to get somewhere that way… no reply. So now I’m going public. I’ve contacted a handful of legit X photographers hoping that maybe they can help somehow too. Fuji can’t ignore this. It’s just too darned important. It’s not just a matter of principle anymore. I can’t get over how difficult it’s been to try to get them to listen

        • Ilyon

Good I hope everyone else does this as well. Fuji might ignore one person, but I hope they don’t ignore dozens or more.

  • Melinda Potter

Could someone with a twitter account lend a hand? https://twitter.com/Fujifilm_UK

    • You can’t fix stupid

Somebody did Tweet as I saw my name was attached to this. It has gone out. Will check my Twitter later to see if anything has happened.

    • You can’t fix stupid

Sent again so they know. Hope they do something about it.

      • Melinda Potter

Did they respond in anyway? I’m being told/have been told that Fuji UK Twitter is where to get them, and that they are really responsive and active there. lol I think this is the first time I ever wished I had a Twitter account. ๐Ÿ™‚ but, not about to sign up now

        • You can’t fix stupid

          Nope, they aren’t saying anything.
          That is so sad.

  • Melinda Potter

There are still some stolen photos live here http://pinsta.me/andreabourne1. Is it because sites like these cache Instagram, so even if the poster deletes photos they are still viewable on sites like these? Or is it because they still haven’t removed them? Either way there they are. Still no word from Fuji, but I’m working on it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Fuji, do the right thing and remove these two from your line up. This isn’t a matter of a photographer who shoots fuji and pays the site to be listed. Fuji seeks these photographers out to represent their brand. They are given training, and fuji equipment/products. It isn’t right when so very many worthy and honest fuji X pros are out there who would love the opportunity. Still one or two here as well https://instagram.com/p/s-B0C7sAZT/?modal=true

  • Melinda Potter

YAY! They’re listening!!! Keep an eye out here https://www.facebook.com/fujifilm.uk?fref=nf for their statement (see Attachment)

    • Helena

I now can’t see any of the comments. :/

      • Melinda Potter

Are you talking about on Fayandrea’s facebook? I haven’t been able to see that since they blocked the U.S. after being listed here

      • Melinda Potter

Ooooooh! You mean on fuji’s facebook! There are a ton of them. I posted to all the FB pages I could find. So the one you commented on was most likely a different one than fuji UK

    • Nice.

    • U Really That Dumb?
  • Melinda Potter

I have to ask: Did Andrea Bourne and Fay Hill of FayAndrea Photography in Southgate London approve of this extortion tactic on their behalf?

  • barque

    Dear Fuji,
This could grow into an ugly problem for you, publicity-wise. You might want to address it sooner rather than later.
    Sincerely,
    Everyone with integrity.

    • Melinda Potter

It’s getting late in the UK. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything or see them removed from the list until tomorrow

  • Melinda Potter

My gosh I’m a nimrod/dork/child… sigh… I really thought that I’d wake up to a statement by fuji, and Fayandrea removed from the Fuji X list. I honestly did. I understand that things take time, but…
    How long?
I’m not trying to be an ass here or anything, I just really thought “Hey! If I finally get the right person to listen, it’ll be a matter of hours before they decide to remove them from their line up.”? Is there more to it than that? Maybe they don’t have a clause that addresses this sort of thing in their contract? or… I don’t know… I’m kind of coming up blank as far as why it would take any longer than what it already has.
Ladies and gentlemen of PS, I have a request. I won’t be online much at all in the next 10 days or so. My husband is coming home after a 6 month deployment, and we get to keep him for 10 whole days Woot woooo!

PLEASE don’t drop the ball on this one, it has become important to me. Can’t wait to come back and read all about it ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • xma1e

Is anyone a member of this X Users group and has a link been posted there? Delete this if it has.

      http://www.facebook.com/groups/267232206714895

    • Celine (peaceetc)

I had private messaged the Fuji X World Facebook page just after Fay & Andrea were outed, giving the links to what happened. I never heard back, though I think they read the message — I saw a ‘seen by’ message in the tab I had open for that back then, but I can’t see that ‘seen’ marker now when I view it in my messages.

I had written to them privately to give them a chance to deal with it gracefully without it causing a thing. It’s unfortunate they chose to ignore it and now it’s a public issue.

Thank you, Melinda, for following up with this. And that’s great about your husband! Tell him he’s awesome for his service, ‘kay? And you’re awesome for being so supportive of him. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Melinda Potter

        Thank YOU Celine.

  • Ilyon

Facebook still up, but private (Who knows if stolen images still present?) and desperately trying to cover up any negative press… https://twitter.com/FayAndreaPhoto/status/570323503930605568

    • xma1e

There public facebook page is still there and doesn’t appear to be private. Maybe it is US restricted?

      • Ilyon

I think that’s the issue, yes. Although I tried to use a UK proxy to test and couldn’t see it so assumed it had other protections.

EDIT: I was bringing this up since Melinda pointed out they still have stolen photos up elsewhere, so I’m trying to get a feel for what is up on Facebook.

        • BigAl

They seem to have removed all of the images from their FB page. However considering the number of posts in the last month, they don’t seem to have much left from the second half of last year. A quick breakdown of posts:

          25/1/15 to 25/2/15: 53 posts.
          5/1/15 to 24/1/15 17 posts

Then posts only on the following dates:

          13/12/14
          23/10/14
          24/9/14
          21/8/14
          14/7/14
          6/6/14

Then once back in May of last year they go back to posting at least once a day on average. So I guess they have removed the offending images from FB. I could not see any of the images in this listing.

          Alan

          • Ilyon

Wow. Thanks for the research. That’s a lot of work Al.

          • BigAl

Not really that difficult, It only took a few moments to scroll down and count the posts. Being in the UK allowed me straight onto their page. I did add a comment to an old review outing them, as they had several defenders, and no not Billcie or a Billcie sock. Because they produce GOOD work, should really make the stealing even more wrong in a moral sort of way if you know what I mean.

      • Just a Girl

It is indeed blocked from the U.S.

        • xma1e

Sad short term solution. Do they not realise those actually in their region can still see them.

          • Celine (peaceetc)

Honestly, I don’t think they care. They seem perfectly happy to wait it out, hoping people forget it ever happened. I find that incredibly sad, especially if they are still using stolen photos, as others have said.

          • xma1e

very true, especially since the above call for reviews is also on their fb page.

  • Melinda Potter

I have time for a little update
Fayandrea, finally removed all the stolen content from their socail media and advertising.
And they have been removed from the Fuji X line up http://fujifilm-x.com/photographers/en/fay_andrea/ 404 Baby Cakes!

No statement by fuji on this matter has been made, that I’m aware of, but they listened and did the right thing.

Just waiting for Fayandrea to remove their association to fuji from their web presence, and the relationship to be officially ended.
Thank you everyone, and thank you Corey, for everything you do.
This one really got to me personally. I guess I’m more of a fuji fan girl than I originally thought ๐Ÿ˜‰ oops

    • Thank you for pushing the issue and writing to fuji. There are consequences to their crime and they are finally paying for it
Sent from a iPhone, please excuse the brevity and typos.

    • Just a Girl

LOL from their website. Ummmmmm YUP!

  • Ilyon

Ha… Yeah, they’re definitely all over the internet and from all over the internet.

They’ve really done a good job covering their ears and screaming “la, la, la”. In the face of their theft. https://twitter.com/FayAndreaPhoto/status/570998676333711362

    • Melinda Potter

Their attempt at trying to equalize what they did to clients/fans using their pictures as cover photos and profile pictures and personal blogging etc. I think we can all agree that it’s not the same as some fraudographer out there taking some of their pictures to market their photography business with. Big ol fat line has been crossed, and there’s nothing flattering about it.
All I know is, when I search Fayandrea this posting comes up as number 1 and screen shots of the pictures they stole come up, not their original work. Loved? I’m not sure that’s what I would call it, but whatever helps them sleep at night.

Remember that Google “bubbles” and gives results based on your previous searches. I do not get the same results as you. And yeah, they’ve been very obvious in their cover-up. They flooded their FB with “5 star” reviews and did the same with Twitter to push down any negative threads, flooding posts and begging friends and family to give favorable reviews. The calculating way they went about this makes my stomach churn.

Me too. :/ and I’m still wondering if they OKed the extortion attempt made on their behalf in the comment section.
I just searched on the kid’s computer (I never use) and it did change things. The PS posting was number 2 and their website number 1 it also threw in one original Fayandrea Photography image amongst the samples of work they stole.

Just got a 24 hour ban for talking to fuji about Fayandrea photography in London (see screen shot), and it reminded me to check and see if they were still claiming to be fujiX photographers. Why yes, yes they are.

Time to delete those blog posts ladies

    • Curious … when did you talk to them?

I posted that over two months ago. A few hours later fuji private messaged me

I fully expect more reports for other posts I have made in the past linking Stop Stealing Photos. They’re obsessed. I can’t imagine spending that kind of time and effort on trying to cover up info on scammers that have already been outted. Fuji has already dropped them. The word is already out. Same can be said for everyone listed on this blog, and even scammers that didn’t make the cut to have a blog post here.
So really the game is more about getting the bans put on people that are against copyright theft. Good luck with that. You can’t ban the entire internet. And now we know what people like this are capable of when they have no argument whatsoever… Not much ๐Ÿ˜‰
